So, it's got the Disney package, 8 rider, lwb, 01 with low miles ... not to hurt your feelings, but $11,0 is about right, $11,5 will just about kill it and $12,0 would be ALL the money on the planet Earth and we can throw Mars in, just for the grins and glory, so this dude better be deep in rubber, glow in the dark and bark at the moon from a like new interior ...
Montana's arent burning down any bridges right now, so if you see $11,5 from a dealer you are doing fine, whats saving this dude is the miles ... but if you traveled down Retail Rd, ya know, a great detail a super duper Ad, you could "ask" $14,9 and fetch $13,5/$14,0 ..
Terry :-)
I cannot find any valuations for this vehicle. What can I expect to get on trade?
Thanks.
Stephen
Thanks again!
Dan
None of the major guides give values for various conversion van packages because the comapnies are always going belly-up, and they offer 15 different set ups for chassis - kinda hard to keep up with.
The value of a conversion is whatever the dealer feels is right - they may make some calls on it, but it's not pretty sometimes.
Down South where I'm originally from, we usually gave $2,000 (on top of the chassis book value) for low tops and $3,000 - 3,500 on high tops. Up North, the values are lesser, because these things are monsters in inclement weather.
You didn't say where you lived....
You didn't say if yours was a high top or low top, but $13,000 - 15,000 is about the money, depending on what engine and chassis you have.

Did you want 1 or 2 trucks filled ...?

Hi top, low top .......?? ...... COLOR .....
Tiara made some nice ones, but the the difference in Conversion vans can be anywhere from $500 to $10 grand ... Info ...!
Terry.
These are pretty popular vehicles .. auction side they would probably see the high $9's, low $10's ... if they have had it since Jesus was a baby, then they probably have $14 in it .. sometimes that pride thing gets in the way, I wonder if the owner knows this .l.o.l..
I would offer $11,9 after a great "look see", then see what the response is .. it's fair for you, it's fair for the dealer ..
Let me know ...

We drove it twice over the weekend, we drove 22 miles with the original owner, then hubby and I got to put another 70 some miles on it later on.
Well it's a done deal at $49,900, all we have to do is figure out how to pay for it, we just love it!
As always thanks for all your help in every way, I think we owe you about 100 dinners and beers by now.
Happy New Year.
M.

Thanks,

It has the 5.3l engine, leather and all the bells and whistles (except for a sun roof). It has the 3rd row seats and towing package. It is the Spitfire Red (a.k.a Maroon).
As far as I can tell, the book value for a private party sale is approximately 30,500. I have it listed for 29,900 and have had very few calls.
Am I missing something? Is my price realistic? I realize you can get some great deals on new Tahoes right now - but you can't get anywhere near 29,900. The 2004 model similarly equipped lists for approximately 46K and probably can't be purchased for under $36k (if you are a real good negotiator).
Any thoughts? - Thanks!
you are competing head to head with the 2004's. They are, no doubt, doing the usual short sighted domestic thing...huge factory to dealer rebates, zero interest etc.

Yep, things worked out well .. they probably looked at the "current" auction reports and said: "Duh.! ~ we sell now, we break even .. or, we keep car, we go to auction, we lose money -- sounds like a smart move to me ...!.l.o.l..
Happy New Year and enjoy the new driver ...
Terry.
Keep that dude Clean, it's a nice one ....!
Terry.
They got $14 in it, they drop it at the auction and get Reeeeal lucky and see, lets say $11,0, they pay the auction fee's, transport and they "net" $10,5 .... Scoot, get over there, it's tumbleweed time .. all they can say is no .....
Terry.
The Lord hates a coward, but Mrs. Lance hates writing checks even more. I'll keep you updated.
I don't think this is the time to test the "'tis easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission" routine, but darn if this vehicle isn't nice enough for me to be willing to break my "no cars with only two pedals" rule.
BTW, you did an excellent job of going apoplectic a couple posts back. :-)
Well heck ya, we had to stop cuz' our lips got stuck to our eyebrows .l.o.l....
Terry.
Aaaah, words to live by ...!
Terry.
Trade side, no kisses, no weird Left Coast cults in the interior .. in and around the $14ish region if it's super clean, deep rubber and needs -0- ... down Retail Rd, an Excellent ad, a wonderful detail, $17,9 "asking" and the first person "without" a flower in their hair get's it for $16,0/$17,0 .. park the ego, this is a Conversion van, not a Cayenne ... the miles and the 5.9 save this one.
Happy New Year and let me know ...
Terry.

Terry, no roof...could not get a roof with nav sys in '01...what say u on wholesale, trade and retail $s?
They are offering $7k for my 97 Explorer Limited V8/AWD, 57k, all the goodies including a sunroof which they know has a very bad rear main leak (we are talking oil everywhere, we had it on a lift earlier so I know they aren't lying about that) that we were quoted $1500 to fix.
May marital harmony, without which there can be no true happiness, be yours for ever and ever.
Or something like that.
Jolie: ...never mind. But I do wish you good luck.
Terry, that 98 Legacy 5sp wagon, needs a new frt main seal, needs the t-belt redone, mangled pinch weld, otherwise nice -- and I know he didn't take under $6 -- is GONE. People crazy.

85,000 miles, one owner
Dark green exterior with green and gray cloth inside
The interior is in good condition, and the exterior is in average to good condition. There is no rust or damage, but the paint has kind of peeled off of the plastic bumpers in two spots. All of the paint on the metal is good, but the bumpers look kind of crappy.
What is it worth to sell to a used car dealer? What is it worth to sell privately on my own?
Thanks. I wait with baited breath (gotta stop eating those minnows).
Jolie...RUN from the Ford dealer.
Terry.
Seriously, I've found the opposite to be true, I think it probably just depends on the model. As the pros will tell you, the books are merely guides, the price for a given car on a given day will vary depending on the market and your own personal mojo.
Bottom line is that, as Isellhondas alluded to earlier, the huge incentives on new ones are killing the used ones. I got $26,500 for mine with about 25,000 miles on it at the time. Asking prices in my area at the dealers were around $30,000 at the time. Just the way it is. Guides don't buy cars....say it with me!
Happy New Year everyone!
Whatever I buy is going to have an ESC that covers it until 100k, not much to worry about then.
Drift.....I can get a new XLS for around $24k I think, looking at that angle today.
Like you said, nobody's dream car. Similar recent buy off dealers back lots before they went to auction, 96 Windstar LX 110K $2100, and only because it was a one owner with the dealer maintenance history available. Trade side in and around $2K. Spend the $300 to have the bumper paint fixed up, another $100 on detail and clean up, you can try and retail it out yourself asking $3900 and send it packing around $3500 easy.
Honestly, most families that need a $3500 minivan are almost always stuck with the buy-here-pay-here lots due to lack of income, reliable job, and cannot come up with the $3500 cash needed.
Sometimes Kbb can be a little more accurate than Nada, sometimes Edmunds can be more accurate than both, sometimes Edmunds can way off and sometimes I could stuff my Mother-in-law in the garbage disposal, but thats life ...
The most accurate information is based on auction reports from your specific area and they can't be older than 20/30days .. what most of the info sources miss, is the miles, most don't deduct enough for the miles, or they add too much which gives a false value of the vehicle for a trade, also Edmunds add's way too much for a "certified" pre-owned ..
But most of the misinformation is from the "geographic area", things like color, options, paintwork, accidents, needed service, tires, brakes, stuff like that ~ plus, there is "No Such Thing" as EXCELLENT condition, unless your driving a 2,000 mile flawless 03 Audi Cabriolet 3.0 in a good color .........
Happy Hangover ....!
Terry.
See ya next year ...!
Terry ;^)
