Of course, you have to ask yourself, what can you buy that's as nice for the same money?
2004 V70 2.4T turbo. AWD.
Dark Blue, tan hides. Seems to be reasonably well loaded (leather, roof, etc).
CPO at a dealer in NJ. ~43K on it. New tires.
Assuming it is nice and clean as a CPO should be, what would be a good price to offer to steal this one away? Think they are asking 21K on it, which seems high.
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
A new CE is around $21-22k.
A new LE with a mid-level package runs about $24k. That with 2 power sliding doors, cloth, 6CD.
One like yours is probably high $20s.
$18k is a lot for a 3 year old van with 44k miles. Your B2B warranty is gone.
That's too close to the price of a new one, IMHO. To be worth it, it should cost at least 40% or so less than a new one. Compared to a new on that would mean about $16-17k.
Thought you didn't want AWD?

Probably could pick it up in the high teens.
7,000 miles on it. Dark blue, grey interior. Select and climate packages. Looks nice.
non-CPO.
asking 25K (or 26?). Seems awful high to me, so before I go in again, what should be realistic?

I don't have an aversion to AWD, I just don't really need it, and it does eat up a few more MPG. But, that is otherwise a car I like (color too), and the sales guy really wanted me to look at it, so I figure, what the heck.
I won't, however, get any wannabe trucks like an XC70 or Outback.

There were 3 of us and the back seat was a bit cramped, though I am 6' tall. There was also more road noise than I expected out of a Volvo.
Just things to look for. Make sure you listen to see if the level of road noise is tolerable on a long trip, plus try sitting in that back seat.
Other that that, it was a manual and the driver did a lot of passing on the NJ Turnpike, and he seemed to enjoy doing it.

If trade is 15-16, how much would a dealer want out of one of these. There is one down the street from me and they have 19,999 plastered on the windshield . Should 18K take it home?
I've found a buyer for my car, and decided I'd like a small wagon with a semblance of sport to keep me entertained.
I've found a 05 Lexus IS-300 SportCross with all options except Navigation. Certified, with about 25K miles.
What's fair price for this car? Area is Northern California
This one may get away from me ... but am also wondering what these cars sell for in general ... they are priced pretty high (when you can find them).
Still, you should be able to talk them down at least a couple grand.
What are they asking?
Only downside is less than stellar gas mileage...
No idea what they go for..

Thanks in advance for any guidance/advice.
However, wholesale has been running @ $21,000
So, $23,900 isn't ridiculous.
A Mazda dealer isn't going to have any interest in retailing it.
Trade is probably @ $8-9,000
I too am considering a vehicle such as this one.
So, here in Denver, there are several similar examples of Endeavors, and I was hoping to get an idea from the experts here on what a realistic purchase price may be.
From on-line ads, there are at least a dozen of the following, some from a Mitsibushi dealer and some not, but from what I can tell, there is no certified used program anyway.
2007-2008 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS AWD
11-14k miles
The LS model is the base model, without any goodies such as leather, power seats or a sunroof. I looked at several of these, and the ones I looked at appear to be in good condition, commensurate with the low miles. For the ones with carfax available, they all check out OK, unless being a previous rental car is a significant concern (I figured with a clean carfax, and with several years/miles of warranty left, that it would be OK).
Asking prices on these range from $13.9k to $17.9k. KBB trade seems to be around $11k for an '07; '08's are not listed yet. I thought around $13k for an '07 and $14k for an '08 would be a realistic, albeit a bit aggressive, offer.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Thank you in advance, I really appreciate all the effort you guys put in to help others...
so i'm confused, why would the payoff amount increase toward the end of the lease? and why would it be more than the amount on the lease contract?
am i just not understanding lease jargon?
any insight would be appreciated.
If the car is as good as you say it is, why not keep it? What's out there right now that would do a better job of meeting your needs?
You're quite right, of course. I just assumed that you were posting from somewhere in Florida, since you said in your 1st post that you were on the Gulf Coast, considering a drive north to get a better price for your car. It didn't occur to me that you might be referring to the Persian Gulf. My apologies for the misunderstanding & good luck to you.
All I know is what I read. The X-type was pretty much panned by car reviewers as being a Mondeo under the skin, and not enough car for what Jaguar was charging. Here's a typical review from Edmunds: http://www.edmunds.com/jaguar/xtype/review.html. The crash ratings were not as good as other cars, including "marginal" side impact rating from the insurance institute (so before you knock Subaru, you should drive one and know that they've had five-star ratings across the board since the beginning). I'm not sure what relevance European crash standards have since you own a car sold in America and safety requirements are stricter here. Plus, near the end, dealers could hardly give the X-types away. People just didn't consider them real Jaguars.
Some Ford products are fine. I had a 2003 Mazda Tribute and for a lot less money, I had exactly the same engine as you had in your Jaguar (and maybe a lot of the same AWD components as well). It was a vehicle that served me well until the transmission started to go at 60K.
By the way, for further proof of the X-type's low value, I took a quick look at the Edmunds TMV trade-in for your 2003 X-type and it's $7,702. You know what the comparable value is for the Tribute, which probably cost at least $10,000 less than your Jag when both were new? $7,202, only a $500 difference.
Obviously, you have a chip on your shoulder for New Yorkers. Whatever you think of us, we know what we're talking about. I was only pointing out that your car's not going to fetch that much and if you still like it and find it reliable, it may be worth keeping. If you still don't believe me, you'll surely find out when you try to sell it or when someone delivers the verdict on this forum.
4.4i's are bringing only a grand or 2 more.
Your Jag is probably a $10,000 car. Maybe more if it's perfect.
As the other poster noted, the X-Type never took off here and Jagaur discounted the car heavily.
08 Factory cars are bringing almost $20k

From on-line ads here in Denver, there are a few 07 LS's with low miles (12k or so) with asking prices right at $14k. Given that they're getting $13k at auction, are these likely "too good to be true?"
And with 2008 program cars getting $20k, there's a local Mitsi dealer here who has 7-8 '08 LS's, all with roughly 12k miles - they're asking $17.9k.
So, same question - since these seem like good deals compared to auction prices, what do I need to look out for? Are previous rentals that bad (most of these with carfaxes seem to be rentals from AZ or CA (I checked and they are indeed AWD)).
So, what would you offer? I always figure there's quite a bit of room in dealers' asking prices, but sounds like maybe these have a lot of the profit trimmed out already?
Thanks again!

So, it is possible that these cars were bought at auctions a month or more ago.
You can always make an offer a couple grand lower than the asking price and see what happens.
Thanks in advance.
