Thats a nice "asking" price, and I agree that $17,500 has to be to the moon for it.
$15,000 to MAYBE $15,500 across the block (It IS Silver, and it IS a Wagon, and 95 wagons are RARE and low-mile 95s period are RARE).
Personally, I love the cars. I'm driving a 99 Auto Sedan as my driver as we speak and love it. (Just got the the store... just hopped out of it) For the $$.. a TON of car.
And avoid the V6s.. they still are whiny about t-belts, arent much faster, and guzzle more gas. The 2.3 LPT is the motor to get IMO and Experience.

The Good
Color Sapphire Blue/Oatmeal
Miles 34,000
Toys Cd,phone, traction, moon, heated seats, garage door opener etc
The Bad
Rear Driver side door and panel re-painted
Accident with park car listed in Car Fax Report
The rest of the car is in good shape, a few stone chips, wear on the driver seat, bad wax job nothing major.
Bill, I follow you guide for looking for paint work
and all the stickers are there and they match.
So is $26,000 a good price for this baby ?
Thanks in advance
-Deep Slate Pearl Coat
-Agate leather interior
-Power Sunroof
-4CD changer, 360 watt, 11 speaker Infiniti stereo
-17" chrome wheels with matching full spare
-All the standard stuff, like heated & memory seats, wood & chrome, Autostick transmission, etc.
Like I said, it has exactly 18,000 miles on it now. I fully detail it every weekend, the interior is spotless as well as the exterior and it's all in new condition. What do you think, as far as trade-in value and private sale price?
We live in southern Delaware if it matters.
You need to buy it! THats probably a little less than it would do at auction.
Put it this way.. if you dont buy it for $26K.. I will
Bill
Chromes? Roof? Perfect? Wouldnt recognize the inside of a bodyshop? 18K on an 00?
I think we have a $19K vehicle here that you need to ask $21,900/bo in a well-written ad.
I wouldnt take under $20,800 for it.
Bill
reply is in ref to message # 5551
TIA = Thanks in advance.
Like most folks trading-in I thought it would be worth more:( Is a smoker's vehicle worth less? And is selec-trac worth anything when estimating price for trade-in or private party? I find it a very useful feature in slippery weather.
I am interested in what you think I can get a 00 Durango Sport w/ 3rd seat for. As mentioned before, the one I'm interested in has 14k miles onit. Again, TIA!
Russ
I'm wondering wat is the trade-in value for my '98 Civic Ex Coupe with 57,000 miles and in good condition and if it helps i'm in southeastern Florida...
In late December i had gone to CarMax and they offered me 6,500, however my car was lowered, but the sales rep said that they would only give me a few hundred more if i restored the car to its stock height...since then i have restored the car back to its stock height and i'm also wondering if CarMax would give me a bettter price or would the BMW dealership where i ordered my car give me a better price?
thanx every1
Terry.
You haven't left us a lot of info, but let's assume its an auto, very clean, new tires, very few dings and scratches, silver or white in color ..and of course, it back to normal.
Because of the miles (low) .. and it's just "Jam-up", the vehicle could be worth $10+ or better --- $6,500 ..? I can't imagine what you did to this thing.
Terry.
Terry.
Can you give me trade in value and private sale value for 99 Camaro 6cyl, Baltimore area, 29000 miles, perfect not a swirl mark. Automatic, T-Top, Chrome wheels, Monsoon CD, Power seat, new tires, preferred equipment option package. Looking to buy Z28 SS while I can.
You know them better than I do... but I am the King of Vauxhalls! =D
Bill
Assuming its a good color (Not purple or Pink or Brown..etc..) and its loaded and just perfect, and would not recognize the inside of a bodyshop, etc.
$9,000-9,500ish I think.. MAYBE $10K on the mother fo all pushes, but I doubt it.
Bill
Thanks,
Sam
Last real low-mile 96 I saw down here did $14,000++ across the block.
Got your checkbook locked and loaded?
Yes, they are very well-made cars, nice cars, a bit dull IMO.. but people who own them love them.
For $13K.. that or a new Elantra...

Question, will it really hold that much of it's value? It sounds decent, until you realize that is still $3,200 in depreciation a year.

Today.

Thanks for the help on the '01 300M. I will probably keep it for a year or two. The dealer was asking 8k for that Grand Marquis so you hit that right on the head haven't talked to my friend yet so don't know if he pulled the trigger yet. Thanks again you and bill perform a wonderful service.
Bill-
'00 300 might see 17.5-18 in trade I think. they retail for right around 20 up here in the windy city.
No one can tell that anything at all has been done to the car. Only when you open the trunk do you see a few very slight marks from welding and what not. But you really have to look for them, otherwise it's no different than it was from the factory.
So, what do you think now as far as trade and private sale?
Looking for a wholesale/retail number for my mom's Camry. Mint condition, 98, V6, auto, LE, side air bags, power everything, cruise, upgraded factory AM/FM cassette, factory alloys. Beige metallic, with beige guts. 14,000 miles, no dings, no dents, never seen a french fry, knee deep. Car is located in Saratoga (Upstate) NY.
Thanks.
Stats:
95 Volvo: 119,000 miles, Dark green, leather, automatic. Everything works. Top trim molding is peeling black paint to chrome. Fine car mechanically, I have driven it for 4 years.
95 Jaguar VDP: 68,000 miles. British Racing Green. Some wear on driver seats. Very clean looking in and out. Dealer is asking $19,900.
If I want to trade-in Volvo, how much should I expect my out of pocket to be? Both cars are located in Northern California. The dealer has had this VDP about 3 weeks.
I know there are some Jag experts in this forum. What do you think?
Aaron
I left a deposit on the car and hopefully my
auto loan will be process Tuesday. I guess the
seller wasn't lying when he said he was losing
money on the deal. Now all I have to do is get
rid of my Taurus SHO.
Like .. it has no miles -- So I'm going to guess it's like new, inside and out.
Hey if it's showroom ... it's gotta be worth all of $25.
If you go the retail route -- start thinkin' $27,950 and take the first $27ish that comes along.
Terry.
Now you can change your name from Sho3 to ..Showboat 1.
Terry.
That bad new is, it has one of those old fangled gizmo's called a handshaker, so no help there.
But you have the right color for the area ..and lets hope you have brand new sneakers on it.
Soooo, what's that translate to ..? Heck I don't know..l..o..l...
I gotta think a dealer will be lookin' at it for around $6.
I hope this helps ...
Terry.
What should I shoot for?
As an appropriate thank you, I'm making a huge donation, in your names, to the Human Fund.
Bless you, boys.

Well, you just had to ask about the body shop didn't you? We were rear-ended pretty badly at a stop light in October, and the rear end is completely new for the most part. However, the shop that did the work is the best around and you can tell no difference at all. No paint flaws, no body work is visible, everything fits like new, and there is not a single rattle or squeak in the rear. No different to drive either.

Usual caveats apply...
Bill
Slider, Cowskin, Infinity Gold Megasuperduperboomboom stereo...
Silver too.
6cyl No help, 4WD good, in Chicago..etc...
$15,00/16K I think here, especially loaded to the gills.
Bill
If its nice, As a trade, I think that we are in the 35001 zip code.
Without the 1.
Retail? I wouldnt let it go for less than $4,700 or so.. So ask $5,495 and grab $$ around $5K.
People love these little guys and yours has like no miles...
Billy-boy
No paintwork, right? ok... I see you nodding your head yes.
good.
$14,000 is where it hits me I think... maybe $14,500 on a bit of a push.
