Wish Bill were around as I think I'm in his home market and he'd have a fairly accurate figure, but anyone's help is appreciated.
97 Land Cruiser All options
I'm pullin low 18's on trade, low 20's retail
99 CR-V EX All options
I'm pullin high 12's on trade, high 14's retail
These are off of the Blackbook... of course depending on where you live, if I remember correctly from Terry, you may be able to get more since winter is coming and all...
If they are real clean and you can wait, may be able to get another 2,0 on the Land cruiser, and maybe another 1,0 on the CR-V....
Hey Terry, let me know how I did... I need a used car soon and I'm kinda practicing off of Blackbook to figure out what's reasonable... =o) Don't wanna step on your toes...
rd
Leather? Slider? Tranny?
asuming you dont have leather or a slider... and an AT....
I'm pullin low 3's on trade, low 5's on retail end
More likely really low considering the love taps/chips... brakes, etc...
I would imagine that is a pretty decent difference between the types...
Sorry terry, just figured I would finish scolding people since I started... =O)
But in the mean time, if you want the "real deal" figure on what it may be worth, follow tblazer503's advice .. or go too your room.
Terry :-)
Terry.
So if it's been properly serviced, no click click in the 4WD, it's deep in rubber and no drive by's and shows 99ish, then on a trade, in and around the $8 figure depending on the dealer. --
Retail Rd is the way to go with this puppy, if it's as nice as you say it is .. then $10,900 in the paper and let one of the Bulldogs pick it for $9,9/$10,5, it will sell fast - no sweat.! A big 5 liner in the Atlanta paper will get her done ...
good luck ...
Terry.
Depending on the dealer, condition, tires, parking lot kisses and what part of the country you hang your hat at .. the LC can see an easy $18/$19 on a trade, they are great vehicles.
The little red Honda should see around the high $11's on a trade, the miles are no help here.
Terry.
Terry :-))
Terry.
Thanks for your help!!

How's that go again .? Even a blind squirrel _____

1993 Toyota MR2. white, blue cloth, handshaker,t-tops, non-turbo. 103K. Just went through a complete check at a local high-end import service place. New tires/brake/timing belt and whatnot.
From the owners report, it had some paint work in the past, but no signs of body work, so this would have to be checked out.
assuming no past crunchs of consequence, what is a realistic private sale price in NJ?
asking price is $8,000, which seems high to me.
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
I'm sure it's nice, clean, well cared for, pretty, sporty, cool, fun, sexy, different and eclectic.
But,
It's also waaaay too much jingle for a 93 with 100klicks.
$6/$6,5 is about all the cake that dude is worth on the retail side, books or no books.
After he has had it for a while, at $8 large (come January) .. the light will roll off the shelf, hit him in the head and he will go - Duh!, and realize that, he is waaay over priced.
Isn't it pretty .. yup..! - Isn't it nice .. yup.! - Isn't it over priced ..! - YUP ..!
Terry :-))
FWIW, edmund's TMV says 4K trade, 6K dealer, 4.8K private sale, if rated "clean".
I get the feeling they will be anxious to move this well before january, since the owner is moving away and leaving it to be sold by family.

First, You just gotta see if you can get in ..... and get out, without throwing your number 5 lumbar out .. l.o.l......

Recap 2001 300M STD Silver/Agate(black) 24k miles
No chromes no roof but real wood and DIC.
It has been hit R front fender but the repair job is purfect but you still can tell it has been sprayed. I have seen qoutes of 16k and 16850 from carmax. Are these what I can expect and would it be worth it to try and sell privately.
TIA
PS I'm down here bracing for my first Hurricane in H-town.
Hey terry.. what would be a good time to sell my 4x4 around here? NW OR ... Probably gonna get a different brand... I'm thinking I'm gonna go back to my imports... hehe
$16,8, Thats not a bad bid from Carmax, considering the fender and such .. since the new ones are out, if it was perfect, the mid $17's would be more like it, but I can't see it.
If you go down Retail Rd, $19,9 in the paper and let one of the guys in the clean up crews, grab it for $18,5/$19,0 ..
Good luck and hang on, it might get a little bumpy ..
Terry :-)
It sounds kinda nice, you have taken care of it .. but, I don't have to tell ya, the miles will Flat kill it, plus Montana's aren't flying off the shelves new or used.
I would have to think, if it's clean and needs -0-, somewhere in and around the $6's trade side ...
I hope this helps ...
Terry.
- 46K miles

- Original owner, all repair records, never been in an accident.
- Very clean condition - a few minor scratches on rear bumper but that's it. Interior is immaculate. Very well cared for car.
- Boston area
What price do you think I can negotiate on the Aurora? ('01, Silver, 32K, Leather, 3.5L, No roof)
How about a good asking price for the Intrigue ('98 GL, Black, 86K, Cloth, No roof)
Location is Western PA.
Thanks for your help!
The Intrigue .? It depends..
If - it has new sneakers, little or no parking lot kisses, no french fry invasions, service is a 100%, looks and drives like it has 30k and needs -0-, then perhaps $5,9 would be a good "asking" price for a quick sale ... the miles are gonna kill Ya here.
Terry.
It sounds nice, right color and 1/2 new rubber, with some small scratches. The miles are not going to be your friend here, on a trade the high $16's, low $17's maybe if it's a "baby doll".
Now, down Retail Rd, $19,9 in the paper and let her go for $18,7/$19,5 for a quick sale ..
May the force be with you ...
Terry.
Is this a premium ..? The price "seems" kinda cheap .. if it's a nice one, no click, clicks, clean all the way around, maybe the dealer is trying to get rid of it - or perhaps doesn't know what they have, look a little further into it .. this could be a deal waiting to happen.
Terry ;-))
You're a machine! Thanks for the information...As for the Aurora, the lease is up in 6 mos. My friend is turning it in early, a little over on the miles. He will pay about $2K penalty to turn it in now, with a residual of about 17,5K. If I want the car from GMAC, will they stick with this # or can I negotiate? What are they going for at auction? Isn't this what GMAC will get when he turns it in?
Thanks again!
That 00 BMW 323 sportwagon I asked you about 4 weeks ago is becoming a lot queen I think. They are still at $27 firm although they did have one day sale at $300 off.
'95 Cadillac SLS
Cream/Off White color
115K Mi. (Ouch!)
Pretty much loaded, but no roof.
Bose
Chrome Wheels
Leather, heated
So. Cal area.
Condition is clean, There's ONE very minor door ding, no other kisses. Interior's clean.
Please do Trade & Retail prices. I know it's going to hurt, but he got the car as a gift from the in-laws, so any money is free money.
Thanks again, much appreciated!
01, 4x4 with 30k ..? for $13,9.? Thats one heck of a deal if it's nice, it's one heck of a deal if it's not nice .. l.o.l... check it out, see what the real deal is.
Terry.
When I look at a vehicle, the first thing I look at is the drivers seat, for whatever reason some drivers seats "look" like they have 100k on em' when they have only 20/30k .. then some others, look like they 100K+ on em' with 20/30k, if you get my drift.
So, based on what you saying if it's a Nice one .. depending on the dealer, on a trade you are lookin' at $3,0/$3,5 - the xtra's help.
Your a Left Coaster, you whacko's love to drive 100 miles for a slurpy to a 7-11, so this might make great inventory for Retail Rd, hi milers seem to do well on the left coast (if they are sharp.!) .. sounds like $6,9 in the paper and let the nice person at the 7-11, snatch it up for $5,7/$6,5 and a months worth of free Slurpys ...
The nice thing about this driver is .. it's free, now that's a deal.!
Terry ;-)
Terry :-)
For starters, only your friend can deal with GMAC .. if "you" get involved GMAC just feels it's another buyer. Your "friend" (get my drift here) .. needs to call up with all the proper info and negotiate a better pay-off, he has to get in touch with the district Mgr or regional Mgr, Not the person that answers the phone and sits behind the computer screen they are Not decision makers, their bosses are .. and do not go through the dealer.
Make sure your "friend" doesn't get into all the stuff about hi miles, lease co's kinda can figure that out and then they know you (I mean your friend, ha) are boxed in, and someone besides themselves will be paying the penalty.
If it's a nice one, they will do the ultra high $14's, low $15's at the block, maybe more if it's a baby doll .. so if you can snatch it for that $15/$16ish range that would be a Great deal ..
I hope this helps ...
Terry.
She wrecked her 94 Altima GXE which was in fine shape but I think the insurance company was quite fair appraising it at $5300.
Living in South Florida also, may I ask where you bought the vehicle? We got ours from Endicott here in Pompano. A much better buying experience than at Coral Springs Nissan.
The Sandman :-)
New sneakers and one dent, wow.. two-tone and all the stuff to go with, more help - I guess I don't have to tell ya, those miles are going to eat you alive - On a trade, you are lookin around $2,5/$3,0.
Personally, I would take it down Retail Rd spend $100 or so at the detail shop, make it look new, all the service records sittin' on the front seat, drop a nice fat 5 liner in the biggest paper in the area for $5,9 and let it go for $4,9/$5,5 ..
Hey, good luck and thanks for stoppin' by.
Terry.
She did reeeal good with the insurance co., man, $5,300 for the old sled .? She did fine .!!! Wow...!
Terry.
$27 ......? I just sold a friend of mine a 01, all toyed with 14k for $27 .. Wow.
And the beat goes on ..
