2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
The rule with the AC is, if it doesn't say "AC off", then assume AC is on. There isn't a message for AC on normally.
I just turn on what I want, and push the AC button to get the AC off. That way I can get some vent air without AC, since I probably also have the moonroof open.
Often I just turn the whold thing off and use windows and roof. Plenty of air that way!
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
Now when I push the defog button the A/C light actually comes on, and I can then push the A/C button to turn it off. Very nice since if I do not take the action to turn off the A/C button the system works as it always has. The only extra step necessary is turning off the A/C if I want it turned off.
I am a happy camper.
This is not in the manual, just another undocumented feature that somebody found. Maybe because other markets want control of the A/C (where gas is much more expensive) the systems are flexible for more than one market.
I select the defrost setting, the system starts up with the AC on, hit the AUTO buton to turn AUTO off (the light goes out) and it keeps on without the AC running.
Just to make sure, you say that when I push defrost, the A/C will light up and turn on, but then I can push A/C and it will turn it off, as in my grandmother's 2002 Accord? If so, that's fantastic. Is there a way to put it back?
This will be very useful in the winter months when de-icing my windshield. You don't need A/C just to blow warm air onto the windshield! You don't WANT it either!
Has anybody else tried to put it back?
Cars are full of these crazy tricks these days. I was looking at the Mazda3 and you can activate the built in trip computer just by doing a series of button pushes on the stereo.
Do any of you know if I can find a way to display outside temperature and total odometer at the same time ('06 non-nav EX-L Accord)on the main dash display? I can show outside and trip odo or I can show total odo but not temp and total odo.

So I just wanted to know, if they can offer Ex for 19.3
is it possible to get invoice for LX in the range 16.5-17.
When i asked them they said they giving discount on high end only. But I dont want to stretch budget
Other differences are the two speakers you mentioned and the lack of a center armrest in the rear. It also lacks variable intermittent wipers and power rear view mirrors.
I do think the VP is the bargain of the bunch. It has the same engine/tranny and safety features. I bought the SE because my better half insisted on 4 wheel disc brakes. What could I say - I told her they were better years ago when we bought the Integra.
I'm happy with the two lonely speakers. They work just fine. I never felt inadequacies regarding the lack of rear anti-sway bar, rear drums, and narrower tires (which means better mileage). My VP has all the essential safety goodies. My mileage has always ranged between 32-34 mpg with mixed driving. For the first time ever, my last tank of gas gave 28 mpg, and boy was I NOT happy.
I'd submit that almost all of the VP's shortcomings are only on paper, in realworld driving you'll never notice them, except for the speakers maybe.
The VP should just take away any late model used honda sales. It may not have all the features of the higher models, but it sure has more than the older ones (standard side curtains etc) and it cost less than many used Accords. I even like the VP hubcaps better than the LX.
Must be a stick with that gas mileage.
Funny how cars are marketed. The Camry CE has everything the LE has except power seats and remote entry. You sure pay quite a bit for those two items. Of course it works because plenty of people won't buy a car without keyless.
Yes, it's a stick shift. At $16,300, how can anyone go wrong with this Accord?
Mrbill
What are you comparing it against? Are you using a thermometer right next to the sensor or are you going by a bank sign or the radio?
Here's our Accord-buying story. When we bought our Accord last year, I wanted to get a loan from Capitalone online but didn't get a chance to get the pre-approval before going in the dealership. Capitalone had the lowest rate at the time. The salesman was professional and respectful, and the finance manager was initially friendly cracking jokes with our children and all. But as soon as I asked "could we come back in a couple of days to close the deal so we can get the loan from Capitalone". His attitude turned 180 degrees "We've spent so much time with you, and you don't even have the integrity to respect us enough to take a loan 0.2% higher?" I was absolutely shocked and infuriated. Where I come from, you don't use that language on your enemies, let alone your customers! But being the gentleman that I was, I didn't say anything and took their loan. I'd rather pay more to get out of that place asap. There's absolutely no point of arguments with one who is willing to stoop that low. Experiences like this don't do much to bolster one's faith in humanity.
You rewarded his chutzpah by taking the loan he was intimidating you into taking.

Tamu- the important thing is that you don't go back to that dealer and you tell everyone you run across about the experience you had. A regular customer is worth upwards of $250,000 in a lifetime, the dealership pays in the long run as long as you spread the word.
Gig'em!
Those are great things for the next purchase. I took my wife the last time... need I say more?
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
They did not ask if I wanted the warrenty or anything - I didn't. They did not even call my bank. Of course this is SD (Vern Eide) where trust goes a long way.
I used a one-simple-price dealership, their price was exactly what I was prepared to pay.
I pre-approved from my bank at a rate that I was happy with and had the check in hand.
I did the research on my trade-in and knew the range that I was willing to accept.
They came within that range and we were done. Took no more than one hour (including trade) and never a single point of disagreement.
I think the real secret is to have the entire scenario worked out. Know the product you are interested in, know the price that you deem to be the one you are willing to pay, know the price you are willing to accept for your trade (if you have one), accept no additional costs other than the car - if you want an extended warranty etc you have @6,0000miles to get one, and do not move off your decisions.
It makes it easier for you and easier for the dealership. They may want to get every ounce they can out of a sale but would rather make the sale fast.
