camry....I know almost what every car is before I
see the name of it on the automobile...No Offense anybody...
I have'nt seen any serious problems with the Camrys ever ,and I have one ,and I've never had a problem with it,it's a 94... i'd like to know if anybody has had any engine problems are so forth, for I am interested in buying a 2001 camry....Although if someone says that they have had engine problems are so forth ;then, I guess I'd think that they just got a lemon because all camrys thru the years have been reliable, and mine is...My car is so wonderful that my Mom doesn't want to get rid of my 94, instead she wants to keep it when I get my 2001 Camry.... Have a great day,and great weekend!!!!
sunshine60105....

Note to all... Please forgive the personal note. Mackabee is a great guy and I lost track of him 9 months ago.
The URl is:

I have been shopping for a 2001 Camry, but now that I know there are (supposedly) big changes in store for the 2002 Camry, I don't know if I should buy a 2001 or wait for the 2002s.
Does anyone know when the 2002 is scheduled to be available for purchase? I'm sure the discounts will be non-existent on the '02s, but if they are going to be much nicer than the current body style, it might be worth the wait and the money.
Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I'm planning to buy a 2001 late this week (unless I decide to wait for the new model...)
Undecidedly yours,
Chloe

They have the final finished Camry picture. It would be about right, since the trial production is just about finished now, to be gearing up for the full production of the final Camry.
Also, in these photo, the steering wheel is on the "right side" of the car, as a Japanese car should be.
So much for that guy who claims to have "seen the resl car" and says my pictures look nothing like it.
Anyway, I just get these picts from a friend.
And I think they're pretty amazing.
She just sent me a picture of the 2003 Solara, and it looks real good to me. Completely new!
First, absolutely bring it to your own mechanic for a check up. Look for engine sludge, specifically pull the valve cover if it is a possibility, also for worn engine valve seals (may see blue smoke at start up) wear left on brakes, tires, overall check over. Cost about $25-$35 to do this. . Second, due to age and not mileage (if manufactured in Sept 96 it is 5 years old) look to replace timning belt, and accessory belts as well. tranny fluid should be changed as well as coolant. If battery original it will go soon, replace it! The vibration should be eliminated before you sign the papers! See if you can get dealer to do all work prior to signing papers.
In general, Toyotas no more expensive to repair and you can purchase genuine Toyota parts online at wholesale if you need to.
But I would like to point out that the Maxima pictures were proven elsewhere to be, in fact, from Nissan. Somebody first had access to these a while ago, and posted them on their European site as Opels. But they ARE Nissan.
That's what I am being told.
The new Camry officialy comes out in September, but some dealers will have it in late August.
From what I hear, it's well worth the wait .
P.S: Ford announced today they are seriously looking into importing the European Mondeo as a Mercury. This car is already on my page)

that is one of MANY posts on teh freshalloy forums about ur supposed 2003 Maxima photos. theres even a picture of the actual Opel concept and the doctored photo right below it. if you dont believe me go to freshalloy.com click on forums, then nissan news and then 2002 maxima. i know u just post the pictures and ur not making them. i was just letting u know that A LOT of ur pix arent real. i could take a picture of a Citroen C5, put a Ford symbol on it and say its the new taurus too.
Also, the pictures of the Markll are not the Camry, isn't the Markll rear wheel drive anyway? So there is no way they can be the same car, but the door handles look alike, which many car magazines said would happen in the first place.
I wish people would stop posting this stupid nonsense, because to me it just ain't real, and just about everybody agrees about that, from Freshalloy.com to Maxima.org

Max
The only way to get out of it is to sell it and pay the leasing company the difference between what you sell for and what your lease payoff is.
Otherwise you can just turn it in and accept a repossesssion or your credit history.
Good luck and welcome!

Well, to add more mystery to the 2002 Camry rumors, I have a friend who is a longtime Toyota executive. He says he's seen the new Camry and it reminds him of a Honda Accord. (He doesn't like the Honda Accord and he doesn't like the new Camry.) He says the front end is similar to a Solara.
Since I haven't seen the car, I can't tell you whether or not I agree with my friend's opinions, but I thought I would post what I heard.
Have a great evening!
Chloe
I forgot to ask you what you thought of $24,800.00 (including destination charges, but not including sales tax and registration) for a 2001 Camry Collectors Edition that has an MSRP of $28,700? The price includes the Customer Cash incentive that's being offered in my area.
I was going to wait for a 2002, but my Toyota pal said the 2001s are nicer... besides, I'm a bargain hound, and I'm sure there won't be any discounts on the '02s for a long while!
What do you think of the price? The dealer is holding the car for me until tomorrow so I can think about it overnight.
Thanks!!!
Chloe
Going back to Geometry in HS, using the transitive property, wouldnt that mean that the current Accord and Solara look alike? Well they don't.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not drooling over the new Camry, I'm just saying...
I'd still hold out for a new Camry.. that two tone Collector's Edition with the incredibly fake wood is pretty hideous, or wait, am I thinking of the Gallery Series?..can Toyota come up with anymore stupid marketing ploys to trick the general public into thinking they are unique in the purchase of a 300,000 selling Camry?...

I agree with you -- the Accord and the Solara don't look alike to me either. My friend said that only the front end looks like a Solara, but that the overall appearance of the 2002 reminded him of an Accord. It's just his opinion -- and the rest of us might disagree with him completely when we see the car in person!
As for the Collector Edition, I'm only considering it because the price seems good for the options that are included in the car. The interior does seem much nicer than the "regular" Camry, and the leather seats in this Collector Edition appear to be better quality than the leather seats that are an option on the other models. According to the literature, the fake wood is actually fake-looking real wood. (Well, they don't say it's fake-looking, but you know what I mean!)
I thought the two-tone looked ok because it's the cashmere beige/lunar mist combination and not the usual Gallery Series two-tones which are more contrasting. I also liked the wheels that come on the Collector Edition.
I have to admit that it's pretty embarrassing to tell people you drive a Collector's Edition... no matter what kind of car it is.
Anyway, I'm still deciding what to do. Thanks a lot for your opinion -- I really appreciate your taking the time to let me know what you think!

Chloe
