If you do it, get one that's quality. I think if you cheap out on a sunroof, you'd probably regret it.

Just trying to see what my car would be worth - I don't really agree with the KBB figures, but I'm predudiced, I guess.
1998 Intrigue base (built 8/98), SilverMist, grey cloth, spoiler, in-glass antenna (was an option on the 98s according to the brochures, but I've never seen one with an antenna mast!), AM/FM/Cassette/CD (single disc), replaced the original Goodyear Eagle LS tires last Summer with Yokohama AVID Touring. 37,9XX miles. Owned since new.
Am I out of line looking for $6000? Trade-in is pegged around $3400 or so and retail $6400.
If I drive it to Florida, I may sell it to my father so I can finally retire his 84 Cutlass 4-door that has who-knows-how-many miles over 100,000! Maybe my mother's 84 Fifth Avenue with 150,000+ can go....
Of course Dad's price would be more or less the trade-in value.... Never piss off your parents!
Thanks for any enlightening responses.

I would offer it to your father as a Father's Day present. Well, one he has to pay $5000 for.
Three auto shipping services quoted me from $650 -$750 door-to-door; a little steep for me.
Maybe we'll need to recruit a friend to make the trip as long as we buy them a plane ticket home.
Thanks again.

Regarding shipping it, a friend of mine managed to get her car across the entire country (three different times!!) by calling household moving companies. They added her car to someone else's load. Might be worth a few phone calls to see how their prices compare to the auto shipping companies.

My sister volunteered to fly up and co-pilot with my wife, which leaves me to drive solo. Hhhmmmmm.... Means I can crank up the Humble Pie, Led Zeppelin and Badfinger CDs!

30 Days in the Hole - a true classic!
Looks like Dad will get the 'Trig eventually since I can get no response from the Trade in board....
I've got a 2000 Intrigue. Would love to get an Infiniti G35 or Accord coupe but the Trig is paid for so the thought of taking on a $400 payment doesn't appeal to me. Love the 3.5l engine but I have some concerns about the long term reliability. At least I'm at the flat part of the depreciation curve.
It is fantastic. "I don't need no doctor" is on the DVD. Can't remember about the CD.
I think a good way to judge Intrigue values is ebay. It has been my expereince that Intrigue trade in values are pretty low but their value on the used car lot is not that far off from other W body cars.
What are you driving now? Got rid of the Lexus and the Impala didn't you?
Thinking seriously of buying (dealer is asking 10.9). My question is, are most of you owners satisfied?
I rented a couple of Intrigues during long trips a few years ago and found them comparable to my old Maxima in handling and performance. I was impressed. Whaddaya think?
It is a great driving vehicle. Lots of room.
Lots of power.
Also, if you remember my disappearing lug nut caps, I'm down four now! Three on the right front and one on the right rear. Any idea why only the right side?
Just curious if anyone's replaced their 98 or 99 Intrigue's wheels and have the caps, would you be interested in entertaining an offer for five????
I'd hate to have to pay GM parts price for what is basically a $.15 piece of plastic.

I'll go stand in the corner for the rest of the afternoon....

Fortunately, my '02 Intrigue is nothing like that. I've got around 19,000 miles on it and its still trouble-free. Only wear is that the 1 and 3 buttons on teh radio are wearing out a little. Car still looks great and drives great though, no troubles at all.
We're thinking of replacing the Alero with a new Malibu Maxx. There's a $4k loyalty rebate on it right now and I've found a dealer willing to give me all of his holdback under invoice too, so I'm looking at $700 under + $4k + $900 in GM card earnings. Pretty sweet deal, and I LOVE the car. Closer to the Intrigue than the Alero, the materials, fit and finish and all of that are top notch. Solid engine, but the features on the Maxx are great--the sliding and reclining rear seat in particular. The one we are looking at has an upgraded package with head curtain air bags, rear audio system, power seat and remote start system (pretty cool). MSRP is 23150, I'm looking at $15997 including GM card.
We'll decide if we're going to do it this week...anybody else own a new Malibu?
