Regarding fender width, you'd need special parking, and to be a special kind of person. On modern cars, I would find a widebody like that to be pretty awful, but on a 124 Hammer or 126, it's pretty hot - back in the day, a hot rod MB was pretty exotic.
The white Falcon on the left looks like the one I got stuck on the railroad track soon after I got my driver's license in 1966. Snow in the mountains and the VW Bug turning left has skis on the rear rack. Vermont?
For some reason, I think of Vermont having wide boulevards like that one.
Narrow two-lanes are a lot more typical. US 302 is one of the main East-West routes in Northern New England (it runs SE to NW from Portland ME to Montpelier VT a few miles from where that photo was taken) and it is mostly 2 lane.
I'm going to guess the blue one is around a 54 or 55 Nash and the maroon one is an early 50's Nash bathtub model. Interesting cars for their time really.
Yeah, the blue one is a '54 Ambassador. You can tell by the skirted wheel the other is an earlier Nash. How do you suppose they changed front tires on those things? You had to take the whole fender off a Citroen ID/DS
I had a 51. When you jacked it up it took a long time before the front wheels left the ground after which there was no problem removing the wheel. The red one is a 51. The easiest way to ID a 54 is by its concave grille.
I think a lot of the cladded ones were 4WD. I knew someone in high school who had a 4WD 4 door model - very rare car, today. My brother looked all over for a decent one awhile ago, no luck.

Hell, I don't know if those fenders would even fit in my garage anyway.

I was used to seeing white ones with cladding, the base model threw me off.
Put a Spark in a time machine and every one back then would freak out.

There were many French microcars after war. Is this one of them?
