1977 Olds Delta 88 (a coupe I think) driving away from the camera.

The red roadster on right looks like an E-Type but it's not. Tailights, bumper and mirror are wrong.
It's a kit car that I've forgotten.

You're on the right track, just stopping at the wrong station. it appears to be a Jaguar XKSS, worth a healthy 7 figures today. No doubt photographed because it was exotic even then.

Speculation from the image source has the date sometime in 1979 via the license plate registration stickers.

I'd forgotten about that one. Wikipedia sez the XKSS was a D-Type racer fitted for street use. Here's Steve McQueen's>

Apparently somewhere in Massachusetts, early 1960s, city unspecified. My first thought when seeing the photo was that it was Halifax as we have a downtown street giving a very similar sort of view, but it isn't that. Expands nicely.

Although I didn't move to MA until the early '90s, I'll guess that is Worcester (go ahead, pronounce it). Although it also could be western MA, e.g. Pittsfield?

If that Chevy doesn't have his directional signal activated a check of the crossover wiring in the trunk is needed. The passenger side tail lights are not working.

McGees Camera Shop, Union Street, New Bedford Mass. Fairhaven Mass. is across the river.

I believe they sold at a slight discount to a Silver Cloud when new - it's effectively a Silver Cloud with a different grille.

S2 Continental sells at many multiples of the standard saloon.

Apparently there was no such thing as Corinthian leather in the trade at the time. It was supposedly a term made up either by Chrysler marketing or their ad agency.

Only one response for this picture. I believe there's also a 1955 Oldsmobile, a 1950 Chevy hardtop, a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 two-door sedan with only the cabine visible, and a 1959 Buick 4-door hardtop at the left rear.

For the drive-in, I wonder if the amount of older cars in an area not averse to rust, also being at a drive-in, suggests that these were the cars of teenagers.

It's along the river bottom in Cincy. I believe it's in an area that floods when the Ohio River goes above flood stage. It was also along a trucking route that heads east toward California and beyond in Cincy lowland.

I pictured that being a typical highway restaurant from the 50s and 60s but frequented by locals. And those cars likely were owned by the old guys who meet there for gossip, coffee, food, and friendship back in those days.

That seems accurate, given the dearth of newer models
