    Donchar: We need more information...

a- are you talking about a 550i? I don't think the exec package is available on the 535i.

b- is this deal advertised by a dealer or by bmwusa?

c- why do you want to put down a down payment?
  • berisky1berisky1 Member Posts: 20

    First Payment $775.00
    Rebate - $1,250.00

Thanks Berisky1. Good info. The offer was for a 550iGT

Just trying to understand if advertised offers like the one on BMWUSA currently can be negotiated or modified for a better deal.

Looks like your deal is better. Not sure if you started from an advertised lease offer or you just negotiated from scratch.

    Thanks.

Just did this deal for a customer. Premium pacakge, cold weather, navigation, park distance control, rearview camera and M sport package - MSRP $60,495 and selling price of $54,610. Its about $1,700 behind invoice. Too bad he did have Loyalty, would have been another $750 off...

    64% residual and .00127 money factor for 36 months / 12,000 miles.

    It is a great deal.
I tried to get one similar in San Francisco Bayarea, CA.
The "internet manager" are much less forthcoming. They never give me a complete disclosure like the one you provided above.

It is too bad you are in Newyork, otherwise, I would lease one from you.
  • insidecarbuyinsidecarbuy Member Posts: 95
You have at least 10 BMW dealers within a 50 mile radius of you. This makes it very competitive for dealers. Shop harder, you'll get it!

Out of curiousity, how did you negotiate the 64% residual value? I frequent Ride With G's forum, and the May lease rates on 2013 528xi appears to be 62%. This represents a difference of about $35 per month payment. Edit: Nevermind, I see that his values are based on 15k miles, 12k adds 2%, coming up to 64.

I am looking into the possibility of leasing a 2013 5 series in Virginia, all in the $58-63k range, and would love to get a comparable deal of less than $600 with less than $4k out of pocket with no cap cost reduction nonsense.

What do you think the absolute floor selling price/invoice on this thing might be? $57-$58k, or higher?

    MSRP: 64,975
    Sell: 60,810
    Miles: 10K
    RV: 63%
    MF: .00127

I think these deal numbers look great! What say the group?

Current lease offer on BMWUSA.com for '13 535i:

    http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/vehicles/2013/5/535isedan/OfferDetail.asp- x?NAModelCode=135C&OfferType=2&regiontypeid=2

    MSRP: $55,825
    $750 buyer loyalty cash
    $3,000 down (cap reduction, correct?)
    Net cap cost: $52,075

    Purchase Option Price: $35,170

    36 month, 10k miles/year
Lease payment $539/month (less taxes, I assume)

Q1: Do you consider the "Purchase Option" price to be the residual, which would here would be 63% of MSRP? That seems about right, though 10k/year leases here seem to have a 64% RV.

Q2: By my math, to get to a monthly payment of $539 the money factor would have to be below 0.0008. Most recent posts here show 0.00127 to be about as low as can be found. So what gives?

I'm trying to do the math on the the offer -- any clarification would be appreciated!

I am planning to lease a 535i with M and technology packages in San Diego. If anyone has dealer gouge for SD, I'm all ears.

That "net cap cost" is from you, not the advertisement, right?

The advertisements usually factor in an undisclosed dealer discount, which isn't accounted for.. you wouldn't pay MSRP, would you?

The net cap cost is what I assume the cap cost is based on the MSRP, loyalty incentive and $3,000 down.

The undisclosed dealer discount is the piece I was missing, which I assume is simply more cash off the net cap cost, or is it a reduction in the money factor, or both? I just want to understand how the $539 payment is computed based on the other given numbers.

And no, I'd certainly never pay MSRP, and never have. This was all purely a math exercise to be sure I understood how BMW computes a lease and where they are changing the numbers to arrive at a specific payment.

If I knew from this advertised deal that they were willing to go to 0.0008 on the money factor (half of what the salesman quoted me today), I'd use that in my bargaining. If I knew they were willing to knock a few thousand off the cap cost, I'd use that, too.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 234,725
The dealer discount would result in a lower cap cost.. Adjust that variable until you see the listed payment, and you'll likely discover the imputed discount amount. The MF can't go lower than the base rate, but they can certainly mark it up.

Between 9 and 10% off MSRP plus any current incentives. Also, watch out for those high dealer doc/conveyance fees.
  • insidecarbuyinsidecarbuy Member Posts: 95
Very aggressive pricing on the 550i M packages lately. Many leasing in the high $600's with MSRP around $70,000.
  • insidecarbuyinsidecarbuy Member Posts: 95
Your about $300 over invoice. You should be able to get another $1,800 to $2,000 off.

Insidecarbuy - i have a 535 M sport and trading it in and was offered 900 with absolutely nothing out of pocket on a 550 - 72K car. What should i expect to pay with nothing out of pocket.

    Deal is roughly
    72K car
    10K miles
    36 months
    899 per month
    $0 cash at delivery

Is the amount off, the dealer incentive that you are gearing towards, the same if the car is ordered versus one that is in stock? (The configuration that I want needs to be ordered.) Thx
  • insidecarbuyinsidecarbuy Member Posts: 95
Doesn't make a difference whether its in instock unit or ordered. Car has the same mark up!
  • insidecarbuyinsidecarbuy Member Posts: 95
What State, city and tax rate? Is it all wheel drive or rear wheel?
  • sjeedsjeed Member Posts: 120
Sorry to be so detailed, but I just wish to confirm that the dealer gets whatever incentives available that allows them to sell below the Invoice, even when the car is ordered versus one that is in stock?

I always endeavor to be fair with my dealer because I am loyal and believe that they deserve to make some money on sales, especially so they are there next time I am ready to buy. This will be my 6th BMW and I have only purchased/leased with 2 dealers and 2 salespeople; and I only switched dealers because the first salesperson was no longer at their dealership and it was too far away at that point.

Insidecarbuy - I have a 335i convertible which is approaching end of lease. By next month I will qualify for the pull ahead program which I plan to take advantage of. I am looking at a 535 primarily though the 550 catches my interest (if the payment is right, of course).

The 535 M Sport I'm looking at has an MSRP of $61,745. What kind of payment would I be looking at if I took advantage of the following incentives available to me?

    - $500 first payment contribution by BMW Financial
    - $750 Loyalty Contribution
    - $1000 BMW Contribution for participating in Driving Experience
    - Dealer Discount off MSRP (what can I expect)?

    10K miles
    36 Month Term

    Thanks!
  • jjskywlkerjjskywlker Member Posts: 3
So dealer is sticking hard at what he claims is invoice of $58,655 on the MSRP of $63,320 (7.37% discount). Any tactics I could use to continue getting down further? I will qualify for USAA and BMW loyalty, so subtract another $2250, so out the door will be approximately $56,405.

So, if I have a $665. quote on a 15k/yr lease ($0. cap cost reduction) for 535xi with premium, cold weather & tech based on a selling price at just about invoice, I really should be able to knock off a few more bucks?

Thanks for your prompt response Car_man!

Could you please let me know the residual value for a 24 months lease of 2013 528xi. Also, is the residual value for 535xi is same as 528xi?

Also, this would be my first lease ever and I do not have a credit history. However, my credit score is pretty good. Would that qualify me for top credit tiers.

    Thanks,

Hello, I am new in this so I wanted to see if you can help me figuring out 528I lease quote I got back in April but now I am more serious and ready to action but wanted to get a ballpark where i should be expecting to be. Here are the details:

    MSRP - $52345
Selling Price - $49024 (Right at my cost)
    TTL- $1704.14
    Money Factor - .00170
    Residual - 60% for 15k year, 63% for 10k year. I used the 15k per year
    Trade payoff - $23934.43
    Trade Value - $24000
    Rebate - $1500 and owners loyalty $750

All the above actually calculates a $653.20 payment on 36 month lease. I am in Texas.

    Is this a good deal?

    Thanks

    Car_man,
Would you mind letting me know the MF's and residual values for the following?

    - 535xi
    - 36 months
    - 10k and 12k

Debating on 528xi/535xi among some audi's!

    Thanks!

You're welcome santy19. BMW Financial Services' current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24-monrh lease of a 2013 528xi Sedan with 15,000 miles per year are .00127 and 68% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The numbers for an otherwise identical lease of a 2013 535xi Sedan are .00127 and 66%.

It's difficult for me to say whether you would qualify for BMW's best money factors. If you do not have much of a credit history there's certainly a chance that you might not.

Hi klc3757. BMW Financial Services' May buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2013 535xi Sedan with 12,000 miles per year are .00127 and 62% for consumers who qualify for its top credit tiers.

The residual value for a lease with 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher.

    Car-Man/InsideCarBuy,
What are the June incentives, residuals on 528i, 535i anf 550i for 36 months 12/15k?
Also, What kind of reductions off MSRP can be expected?
    Thanks,
    Mark
  • jcleme1537jcleme1537 Member Posts: 10
Yes Car_Man, I too would be interested in the June Money factor rates:

I am in negotiations for the 2013 528 what is the residual on this vehicle for June? Also I heard that they might be running a 750 cash back incentive on this car, is that true?

I would be interested in residuals for 24 and 36mos at 12k miles per year
  • jasonmdbmwjasonmdbmw Member Posts: 117
MF and residuals are the same as May. .00127 and 64% for 12k miles @36 months. 70% for 24mo. The $750 isn't cash back, just a rebate for 528i/xi if financed through BMWFS and can't be combined with the loyalty cash
  • moguptmogupt Member Posts: 20
Do the same numbers apply across 528i-550i and ActiveHybrid 5?
  • sjeedsjeed Member Posts: 120
Does the $750 Rebate also apply to a 535i? Any qualifications to receive the rebate?
  • juandurojuanduro Member Posts: 30
SO I'm in the market for a 5 series.. 528i M-sport to be exact. For May I understand the follwoing are the incentives and lease rates
    Loyalty Rebate : $750
    Pull ahead Promo : $500
    Drive event discouunt : $1,000
    Lease details : 0.00127 & 62% for 12k

Now for June, are there any new incentives ? I understand the Lease program remained the same... :confuse:

    Thanks!!
  • moguptmogupt Member Posts: 20
I need the residual for the Active Hybrid 5. Please help. Dealer is quoting 57%.
    Is that right?
    Mark
  • jasonmdbmwjasonmdbmw Member Posts: 117
No just the 528's have the $750 Conquest cash while the others just have the $750 Loyalty cash. The AH5 also has $4500 ECO credit
  • jasonmdbmwjasonmdbmw Member Posts: 117
The conquest cash is just for the 528's. 535's have the $750 loyalty cash and must finance with BMWFS to qualify
  • jasonmdbmwjasonmdbmw Member Posts: 117
That is correct for 12k miles/yr
  • jcmahoneyjcmahoney Member Posts: 1
Am I correct on the following?

    528i 10k 36 month residual - 65%

    0.00127 money factor

    $750 money to use BMWFS

Also looks like a $1000 'Drive Event' offer.

That residual seems too good to be true...Am I missing any other available June cash offers? Can I expect 10% off of MSRP plus these $1750 in offers?

    Thanks so much -
