Concerning the trunk button located at the trunk itself. I think it is the car doors being open that seems to prevent the trunk swith from working, not the engine itself being on. I wonder why that is.
I don't know what the torque peak on this engine is, but I know it's below 6,000 RPM, so revving above that is useless--you certainly don't want to go above, or even in, redline! That's why it's REDLINE!

sounds like you were driving a manual tranny....
On the trunk... If the car is in gear the trunk won't open
If you drop the remote in the trunk with doors open the trunk won't automatically open, if the doors are locked and you drop the remote in the trunk will pop open
anyhow, in my case I clearly saw the variation of the quality among different cars. that combined with the obvious problems on the brand new tester didn't look right to me.
anyway, i got me an Accord instead.
unless you reprogram the ECM, you won't be able to. there's a rev limiter that will prevent you from reaching the redline.
For reference its the whole top part/piece altoghter.
Good Luck!

i decided against Altima and got an Accord instead.

If the money is not much different, i would go the V6. My wife has an 07 Murano SL V6 and I have an 05 Frontier V6 (4.0) and we have had Zero problems. My truck get about 22-23 and is rated at 19 and 21 but I drive it easy most of the time. The Murano get 23-27 depending on how/where we drive it.
Nothing against the I4, great engine, but the V6 is far more fun with little penalty and just asks to be driven hard when needed.
Either way, you win!
I understand that typically a new car should have a break-in period where you should keep a minimum speed (below 60 I think) for the initial milage. The car sale guy told me that since the 07 Altima have the CVT technology it is not necessary. Is that correct? Can I really drive up to 70-80 mph like I typically do on the highway for those inital miles? Please help. :confuse:
Break in period is for the first 1000 miles. They want you to drive at various speeds get up to 80mph. They don't want you to use cruise control for the first 1000 miles because they want you to break the engine in at difeerant speeds. Also in case anyone was wondering there is no break in oil so first oil change is at 3750 miles. You do not have to change it after a 1000 miles!!!
Dealer chacked things out, says nothing wrong, and says all the CVT 2.5's make this noise upon startup ... I think this is BS. Comments?
Any pics of an 07/08 with a trailer hitch? I am concerned about how it will look getting it from a non-dealer location. Anyone have any experience here?
Thanks
Thank you.
Can you have it find nearby gas stations and places to eat without stopping on the side of the road?
Thank you,
If you want to know more about the LATCH system, just do a google search.
My question is regarding the stock tires that comes with the 2007 Nissan Altima, 3.5 SE. My Altima came stock with Bridgestones (not sure if every Altimas in different regions come w/ Bridgestones). After driving through some heavy rain and the first drive through some moderate snow, I felt some slip and unexpected drift. Just to let you know... I have VDC and I was driving around 50~60 mph. Does anyone have some good knowledge about Bridgestone tires or would like share about thier driving experiences w/ the stock tires?
Please let me know... I would like to make a decision in purchasing new tires before my area (NY) experiences heavy snow.
Thanks!
P.S. I have a full size spare... should I be getting 5 tires if I choose to change my tires? Also, would most tire speciality garage stores be able to install the tires so that the tire pressure sensors would still work (meaning I don't have to take my car to the Nissan dealership to get rip-off)?
Thanks Again :P
Yes, any tire store, or good general repair shop will be able to replace your tire. If I'm not mistaken, it only requires a certain tool to calibrate them.
I recently did a google search on these tires and it was confirmed that they are not really the best quality of tire. Others have reported hard ride quality and fast wear with these tires. I definetly will look into a different type of tire when its time to change these ones. When it comes time to buy new tires I likely will not purchase a 5th tire, just to keep costs down.
Anyone have an idea what this might be? I'm going to take it to the dealer, but I'm not sure how to have them listen for it unless I leave it for a few hours, come back, and then have them check for it.
Thanks,
Chad
