Looks good. I like the standard steel wheels. Seems like you got a great deal. The turbo 2.0 is a lot of engine for that vehicle. Congrats!

My membership in the CCBA is getting wobbly, given that my TLX is now more than four years old. But I still love the car, and hope to drive it to 200k or so (knock on wood). Already at about 65k iirc. Also still love the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires, which are so much better than the Goodyears it came with. My wife's CR-V is also doing well, and also has CC2 tires.
Since I was a kid I've been interested in cars, but also in ships. Recently booked a trip for me and my Mom to go to Alaska, which was on each of our bucket lists. My spouse can't go because of work and our cats, but maybe next time. Our ship will be Holland America's Eurodam, which seems kind of an odd name. Every Holland American ship has had a -dam on the end for the last 150 years. Started out that made sense with ships like Rotterdam, Amsterdam, etc, but anyway, here's a pic of Eurodam. Today it's considered a mid-size ship, but is actually about the same size as the Queen Mary, and twice the tonnage of the ill-fated Titanic. But large cruise ships of the last few years are easily twice the size of Eurodam, which was built in 2008.

The dealership experience was excellent overall. I e-signed paperwork and the only thing I had to do was sign an odometer disclosure once I got there. They gave me an envelope with paper copies of everything and got me set up with the FordPass app and CarPlay. Unlike many purchases where I merely feel like I did okay, I'd have no hesitation at all about doing this same type of deal a second time with the same dealer if I needed another vehicle.
My initial impressions over almost 700 miles are that I'm very impressed with the utility of the Maverick and the overall driving experience is better than most of the vehicles in the ~$25k price class that mine is in. The interior has a ton of usable storage space and is generally a pleasant place to spend time. The Tundra had an all-black interior, so the darker interior of the XL trim level compared to the XLT and Lariat does not bother me. The seats are comfortable and the sun visors are the perfect size. I would prefer it to have an assist handle above the driver's door, but this was missing on my Tundra, as well. I really like the dark blue interior trim, as that interior color is very uncommon on modern mass market vehicles.
The ride quality is similar to other Ford CUVs I have driven, with the caveat that the unladen bed does cause it to sometimes get jittery over bumps. It's very maneuverable, but you do notice the longer wheelbase compared to an Edge or Escape when parking. The 2.0T engine is plenty of power for a vehicle like this, although I am not convinced of the 6-second 0-60 times that some people claim. I may have to do a Dragy run after burning a few tanks of premium fuel to confirm. The throttle is a bit touchy off the line and I'm pleased to report that I spun the wheels a bit pulling onto the highway out of the dealership. The engine is almost silent at idle besides the typical direct injection ticking.
A few quality glitches: the fabric on my front seats is slightly bunched up in a few places, there appears to have been a dab of seam sealer left on the bed next to the tailgate (which was painted over but is in an area where it will probably get chipped off), and there was a random loose bolt rattling around in the bed.
I have the all-weather mats installed as well as the dog cover for the rear seat. Just ordered a tonneau cover as I was typing this. Thanks to @stickguy for reminding me that Realtruck offers a discount for forum members from Maverick Truck Club, as well as (I think) some other forums.

Thanks, guys! I’ll try to give a detailed write up and better respond to messages once I get back to a computer with an actual keyboard. 27.1 MPG on the first tank and there was a lot of wind for about the first 100-200 miles.

You got that right. That beast has more swirls than a birthday cake.jmonroe
Are you joking or does it look that bad in the photo? I used a two bucket method and was pretty careful with it. It has also not been through a car wash. In person I don’t see many swirl marks at all.
Calm down. I was just joking. Nice to see that someone scraped you off the ceiling so you could post a reply.
