Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous (Archived)
That's our common response to others when speaking of our car addiction/habit. This being our second marriage (now going on 12 years I will say), my wife and I often point out that trading out cars is way better (and cheaper) than trading out spouses.A few years ago on another board we were discussing the private sale of a new Ducati that had just 22 miles on it. The guy selling it lived approximately 22 miles from the Duc dealer so the consensus was that the guy bought it, rode it home, wife saw it, and it was game over. That totally sucks! Why bid in the first place if you really aren't going to follow through. it's like ripping your money into useless pieces! Hopefully the next bidder in line will take it as it really is a very nice vehicle. But I guess when dealing with this kind of business model, some flakes are going to fall through the cracks. Just another hassle to go through in a process that really sems to take too long and is too complicated. Hopefully going forward, all your ducks will fall into place and you'll be selling as many vehicles as you can get your hands on...all for a decent profit to!I imagine your wife declaring “over my dead body”! Would take some of the desire out of you.
In contrast, a hand-wringing bed wetter asked my wife why she wasn't concerned/worried when I bought my Triumph S3 and she told that person that if her husband was going to have a mid-life crisis affair she would prefer it be with something with two wheels as opposed to two legs.

@corvette - thanks as always for updating and maintaining the punch list!
I'd request one change - for my latest punch, let's replace "Mustang" with "Mach E." Let's avoid any confusion and controversy.

Apparently the 2nd bidder is in at 8400.
Yes, they supposedly keep the deposit from bidder 1 (I guess that’s more profit for them) and ban the user.

Well, I’ll just say I’ve told my wife she can’t buy any more GLCs.
Wednesday she decided she’d like an EV of her own, so she drove a Model Y and Mach E and loved the Ford.
Black Friday shopping ended with this…

Yes, just to clarify, I bought the 2020 E450 wagon in September.

An addendum to my previous comment; as an HPDE instructor I spend a lot of time in the passenger seat of a student's car. I have friends who race professionally who say they wouldn't instruct if they were paid- never mind for free.
I guess I'm too dumb to be scared.

No hybrid or EV experience for me. One day.. I have driven a few diesel passenger cars but not recently. The only diesel I’ve driven was yellow and was full of screaming kids.😳
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous (Archived)
The thing about EV styling that I don’t like is the fact that there is no grill. I know it isn’t necessary, but I like to see holes in the front of a car!
