What is softex? Guessing it's something to do with the seating surfaces.
I do like the Mazda XC-30 but hate, really really hate their infotainment controls. They really stink and need to be "dumbed down" like my Golf. Our A3 has a similar infotainment system and it's also annoying. Luckily, I don't drive it that much as it's not my vehicle.
Ordering my next vehicle is probably the way it's going to go. If it's the Toyota, it's got to be an "XLE" model, not sure if they have a "Limited" for the "XLE" model. I only want three options right now, so should be a very doable order, that is if they even take orders. I asked the sales guy at the Delray store and he told me no, they won't take an order. Haven't asked at the store I used to work at as even though it is the closest to us, don't really want to do business there. When one drives up, the sales guys sit outside waiting to pounce on their next victim. I want to chose my salesman and want someone who didn't just start last week. The store where I used to work just feels so slimy, a big reason why I did quit. So many of their staff were super rude, which surprised me since I was a fellow employee. But ordering will most likely be the way things go & right now, a 2024 model is what I'm shooting for.
A shame Breld's wife sold their previous Mini Cooper as I had said in here that I'd like first dibs on it when this happened as it was outfitted the way I would've done one. But, that courtesy was never extended to me...whatever. Probably a sign from G-d as when the right time does come, he'll put it in front of me to just do it. I really believe in stuff like that for some reason...might not be logical but something is steering us along in our daily lives, some force or whatever you want to call it. And it's that timing in our lives that I let happen & follow.
Sandy, I think you probably should have contacted @breld by email or private message if you were serious about the Mini.
@breld and his wife seem to make split second decisions and go to “look” at cars and bring them home.
I had no idea that you were ready to get something as you were last talking about Toyota or Hyundai/ Kia and cheap to keep and were looking to buy a 2024. I suspect that @breld thought the same

I think so. All I’m sure of is that he doesn’t own a Neon.To be fair, that was his S4. He also has a TTS, right?
There’s an Audi fan over on CCBA board who might be able to help you. He too had to replace the engine in his Audi.

Finally got to adjust the clutch on the Alto and take it for a spin. Boy, let’s see…
The good: I have never driven one before, but I suspect this one has been fiddled with. Seems to me to be a racing clutch. The grab is immediate and violent. I believe maybe it has been tuned. Granted, it is very light, but spinning the tires at will in first or second seems excessive for 64 hp. And that is not by dropping the clutch. I found I could start rolling along and then put my foot down and it would smoke ‘em. The interior is clean and the seats are great and very sporty.
The bad: oh, so much bad. We have the previously mentioned bad paint. The fuel gauge apparently doesn’t work. It rattles, it rides like an ox cart, the heat is nonfunctioning, and the shifter is almost impossibly vague. This would make a great track toy and an awful daily driver.

Can you believe it...I'm 21 payments in (on a 39 month lease)! Who says I can't keep a car?

The Audi store is keeping the car overnight it seems. The recall is finished but still diagnosing why the windshield wiper sprayer thing won't work. Parts department was closed today and he just told the wife four guys in his department took the day off with a couple others calling out sick, so a skeleton crew today. She's off from TT all week anyways and they said they will pick her up once they find the issue and fix it. Plenty of food here so no need for me to leave the Golf since she won't use it anyways.I've got an observation for you.
Always seems to be something but we'll deal with it. I do realize that if anything big crops up sooner than later, she'll finally say enough already and start looking to replace it. And as nice as the new A3 is, a bit pricey now and sje to is leaning towards "cheap to keep" going forward.
Both the Golf and A3 are paid for, correct?
Shouldn't you compare the "cheap to keep" aspect of any new car with the cost of said new car added in?
For example, if the wife went out and bought a new Hyundai/Kia for $25K, you could have kept the A3 for 5 more years, spending $5000 per year on maintenance (or 3 years at $8333/year). That would cover a lot of upkeep, in my mind.

BMW M and AMG both have websites that offer private forums for their owners. However, I was never able to join the M owners group because I owned an M Performance model and not a "real" M car- never mind that the M Performance cars are prominently featured on the M site. In contrast, I was admitted to the AMG forum even though I own an AMG "lite"(no hand built motor, for starters). Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but appreciated nonetheless.Sounds like a bunch of snobs. I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member.🤭
