Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
In December, as a member, I went to the end of year Holiday Party for my local Mustang/Ford club.I've been buying Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars to give away when I display the Club Sport. The cars aren't all BMWs but are usually European sports cars or sports sedans with an occasional Japanese sports car. A competition car of any type can also be in the mix (GT 40, 787B, etc.).
The keynote speaker was the Ford Club liaison for Ford Corporate, although not sure for how much longer.
One topic he was asked about was how to make the club younger.
He related a story where he gave a away some small diecast cars to kids at a Ford show.
Many years later, a young man walked up to him at the Hershey Ford Show this year and showed him a picture of him getting the diecast car as a kid.
Then he said "You want to take a look at my Mustang?"
That really resonated with me, so I've been buying Hot Wheels Mustangs for the club to give away.
My goal is to get 50 and I'm up over 40. Just waiting for my next credit card to close for the month before I order more.
I've been buying them off ebay and boy that can be a big rabbit hole to fall into.
I also bring my gray market Baby Racer; if kids want to ride on it so much the better.

So, through the factory warranty period?
That wouldn’t have been any fun now would it? Besides, multiple dealers couldn’t fix what was broken while it was under warranty anyway.

"Our Yearlong Review Mazda CX-70 Has Left Us. We Are Not Sad.
After a year of driving it, we’re not too bummed about it leaving us.
Miguel CortinaWriterMotorTrend StaffPhotographerJan 02, 2026
...My biggest complaint was how the CX-70 behaved at low speeds. Its mild hybrid powertrain and eight-speed automatic transmission never synced up smoothly, especially when the car was still cold. Every morning as I pulled out of my parking garage, the transmission would shift abruptly from first to second gear. Separately, the mild hybrid starter/generator would shut off the engine only seconds after it turned on—right as the engine felt like it was waking up. This disconnect caused plenty of head toss, abrupt shifts, and general annoyance as soon as my morning commute began...
Other issues we noted during the CX-70’s stay included overly stiff steering—a complaint we’ve had with multiple yearlong test Mazdas—and an intermittent “headlights malfunction” warning (even though there was neither an actual problem nor could we replicate the issue for a service technician). We also dealt with infotainment quirks and cabin rattles. The former stemmed from the SUV’s face recognition, which is supposed to identify the driver and automatically load their infotainment and cabin preferences. That only worked a handful of times. Most of the time we had to manually select our profile before it defaulted to Guest mode. Selecting a profile could also turn into a headache, with a loading circle taking 30 to 45 seconds to occupy the entire screen, often ending in an error message anyway.
And toward the end of our year, we heard persistent rattles coming from under the B-pillars on both sides. This issue, as we found on online forums, seems to be a common complaint..."
Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
Do you mean these wheels? They still look pretty good after 35 years.
You can get them in aftermarket 17 and 18 inch versions now.

I’m sure I’ve told some variant of this story, but I grew up in a GMish household. My Dad has a 1966 427 CI 390 HP Corvette Convertible. Yes it is a 4speed manual. I started reading car magazines when I was 11 or 12. By the time I turned 16, I wanted a Mustang with the 5.0 (LX hatch, GT, or notchback) with the 16” 5 spoke wheels more than anything. The gruesome reality of insurance costs set in and my dreams of a Mustang with the 5.0 were crushed. I loved the shape of the Mustang so much that I would have bought a 4cyl if the dealer would have just put a set of those iconic 16” 5 spoke wheels on it. Nope. Eventually I did buy a Ford as my 2nd vehicle after driving a Chevrolet Beretta GT for as long as it was engineered to last. It wasn’t a Mustang, it was an Explorer Sport (2 Door SUV, not the 1/2 pickup truck one). By the time the lease was up on my Explorer was up, my tastes moved towards European and Japanese cars. While every car today is vastly too expensive, look at how much a current body style mustang costs. Eco Boosts are in the $40K range & a GT with the awesome sounding Coyote V8 is $50-$60K.

On another note, a friend of mine is about to add a used BMW i4 as a daily driver. It’s a lease return with low mileage. Really nice car at a great price.

Makes no difference to me whatsoever.IMO It is one of the stupidest decisions ever. Carplay is a very loved feature.@graphicguy said:
Good point. Never considered that. It's also a pet peeve of mine. That, and GM dropping support for Apple Car Play will keep me away from their vehicles.GM dropping support for Apple CarPlay is the LEAST of their problems.
