Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
@oldfarmer50,I have one Europac fund that did well in 2024 but it is still down from my initial investment from several years ago. I also bought Lucent at about $20 only to see it go down to 50 cents or something. That’s when I stopped trying to pick individual stocks.
Funds were not losers in 2024 but still haven't technically broken even with the price paid per share with reinvested dividends and capital gains.
Bought the funds starting in 2021.
The only investment strategy that I’ve learned is that when the gurus say something is an incredible buy….run.

Then there was the Combat Wombat- I love Hodakas.@bhill2 said:
When I started college and was still living at home, I drove a VERY handed down 60 Falcon with the mighty two-speed Fordomatic. There was another student that lived near me, and would grab a ride when it snowed (not that often, it was Seattle) because his Corvette was undrivable in snow. One morning he mourned "I have a cherry Corvette, and here I am riding to school in your Super Wombat". I didn't take offense, and the Falcon had a new name. Some Wombats are fun!
Re: Edmunds Members - Cars and Conversations
Speaking of bombshells, have you heard that Stellantis is cutting prices by 60% on some old lot queen Ram trucks to get them out of inventory? I’ve seen a few YT gurus predicting price drops but 60% would be something. Would they really do that or is this more clickbait?
Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous

Saw this outside the furniture store we were going into the other day. It was parked right next to the entrance so I couldn’t get it all in one shot. The rear view is beautiful but I don’t want to show the license plate.

Must be those chickens who are so smart they wear glasses. 🤓Hey, one of my friends raises chickens that are made into Chicken Mcnuggets. He had to install windchimes to give the chickens something that would hold their interest.....McD nuggets are made from chickens with a high I.Q.@imidazol97 said:
I don't think this is an AI vehicle. It's all parts chopped up and reconstituted, sort

If I had to guess, I’d say they’re the ones that don’t want to see it coming.

3X Short S&P 500 fund.At the end of the year I sold some underwater mutual fund shares to offset capital gains for 2024.What mutual fund was a loser in 2024? Did you hire the broker who advised me which individual stocks to buy years ago? He had an uncanny knack of picking all losers in a bull market.
That means I have some capital to buy something.
Based on the rumors that CDJR is going to do some downward major price adjustments, I am going to wait.

Re: I spotted an (insert obscure car name here) classic car today!
I'm guessing from the rear, the taillights might look sort of like what the early/mid-90s Regal sedan used. I'm also getting sort of an Infiniti J30 vibe. I just asked Google Gemini to draw it from the rear 3/4 angle, and this is what it came up with:I see some LeSabre in it, especially the C-pillar. Not bad looking, AI is getting scary, it'd probably fool the normies now, only us weirdos will be able to tell a fake.
