Oil changes, for what you "might" save, better to take it to the guy.————————————————Speaking of garages with tall ceilings (I think the side of mine without a drop must be at least 18’) I saw a pop up for one of these and got to thinking. Might solve my space issue! Need to get out the tape measure and some painters tape to mark it out, but with high ceilings and the 18’ wide door, could work without getting in the way! https://automotiveequipmentspecialists.com/bendpak-hd-9-9-000-lb-capacity-standard-width-car-lift/?_vsrefdom=adwords&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADesmBQRaol_7fyM1R02ThvHRCrFT&gclid=Cj0KCQiAs5i8BhDmARIsAGE4xHzS1IkCWlCuDtvyoNrBEychtrEewuIyGR0-vgC38ul-LF58nkKM97YaAtMCEALw_wcB
Yeah, why not? Great way to do your own oil changes, but you gotta keep good oil change documentation. And, at this time of the year a great way to spray the salt off of the underside of the car. You only need a hose and a hooded rain coat to do that. Both of those could be a good side gig when you retire,

Wash salt off the underside of the car....best to go to the guy at the car wash, better than making a mess of your garage.

————————————————-Even in an earthquake scenario, if the BendPak is installed correctly, I'd fully expect the garage to come down before the lift does. The people at the end of the block has one of those. Never talked to him about it but he does have a rather pricey vehicles above and below it so he must trust it.
Although I keep expecting to see a car sandwich there sometime.
Yeah, but either one of those scenarios ain’t good. Kinda like pick your poison.

————————————————TVs are not that heavy. They can be carried. Try getting a fridge down steps with a turn like that.
I agree. However, it seems as though @graphicguy bought the cheap unbendable model.

————————————————They're delivering it this afternoon. It's tricky to get a large TV down the stairs to my Home Theater room as there are two sets of stairs with a sharp turn between the two. Not that it's particularly heavy. Just awkward the way it turns with a relatively low ceiling.Me three. Bought our TV and a couple of appliances from them. They’ve been great. It helps they are only a mile from our place.@kyfdx said:
@graphicguy How much? What size?I've had pretty good luck with Best Buy, over the years
Me, too. I’ve purchased two 55” smart TV’s from them over the past 8 years and have had zero problems. They have salespeople, for the most part, that are pretty astute at knowing their products - especially smart TV’s.
But, got the last one down there. So, it's doable.
Best Buy went through a period there that they just weren't very competitive. Seems they're fixing that, or at least trying hard to do so.
I doubt they’re going to carry it down your steps. I think they’ll slide it down the steps on it’s side then stand it up on it’s end when they get to the landing then slide it down the last few steps on it’s side like they did for the first 6 steps. Then carry it to where you want it set up (maybe even slide it there too). At least that’s the way I’d do it. Gravity can be your friend when you think it through.
Easy peasy.
FWIW, if my knees don’t start feeling better, I’m considering sliding down the steps myself.

Re: Chronic Car Buyers Anonymous
I’ve always been in the camp that it’s better to KEEP things clean rather than GET things clean. Kinda like an “ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure”. Must be an old fashioned way of going through life. But, everyone is entitled to treat their cars the way they choose to treat them.I so much agree with this, but it all falls apart once the spouse is in the car, which means that my wishes are moot on any long trips, which means I might as well forget about it.
I wasn’t trying to get any converts when I mentioned how I do it, I was only stating how I do it. However, given this is a car site, I’m surprised I’m the odd ball about this.
