Are you buying the Pilot at -100 MSRP with cash? financing thru Honda? 3rd Party? or are you leasing with -100 MSRP as a Capitalized Cost?
Not one single Honda dealership I have contacted in Southern California has indicated to me that he would be willing to sell me a Pilot at MSRP. Every dealership has marked up MSRP between 500 and 2500 dollars. At this point, I will need to travel to get MSRP. Arizona? Nevada? Washington? Oregon?
I am in SoCal as well and am finding the same as you. I am willing to travel anywhere in Ca to get it at MSRP but sounds like you did the legwork for me.
Actually I have found the minimum is 1000 over, so if you can let me know the 500.00 over dealer, that would be great.
Remember we have that special emissions setup that would have to be dealt with if you bought out of state.
Argh, this whole think stinks!
Thanks.
In fact, here is the number if anyone else cares to:
(909) 799-7070
They are in Redlands.
Tammy
Congratulations for not paying over MSRP.
And that's all I got to say about that.
No cigar here...
Merced Honda sells at MSRP. I've got one on order there...It's only a couple hour drive and some nice areas around it to tour with your new Pilot. If you email me I'll give you the name of the salesman I'm working with. If you are up in the north bay, I also heard mendo lake honda in Ukiah is MSRP. You can get phone numbers and direction from honda's website under dealer listing. Closer to home in SJ it's +4000 and still at least +1500 as far as Napa/Tracy. (at least until nobody buys from them and patronizes the MSRP dealers.)
Are the Acuras selling at or over MSRP too? If not, would it be better to buy one of those -- assuming they are the twins?
Having never bought any auto for much more than invoice I am just stunned.
That includes a 2000 Accord Ex by the way.
Is it the newness or is this the be all end all?
Honest questions -- not trying to fight with anyone.

area at MSRP. Either the PILOT or the MDX
Thanks in advance
-Tom
Or something else -- say mass hysteria such as what met the market with the PT Cruiser?
Honda didn't do so well in today's JD Power initial quality survey, so maybe they are coasting on their reputation? (no full size van category today, so don't know if they would have "won" that).

Let's why I asked for someone that knows a good respectable dealership that is sellign at MSRP
I live in Fremont,CA so that's a way to go (~2 hrs drive). I'll check it out.
I got the Tracy one to sell MSRP for the Odys but not the Pilot.
I just dont know if I want the Pilot or the MDX
I finally received pricing from an "internet" manager at the local honda dealership(in writing) on May 18th. The quote was for @ $400 over MSRP. I explained that I wanted to test drive as soon as one arrives and would then provide a deposit at the quoted price if I liked it. The Pilots arrived on the lot on Friday 5/30 and I test drove on the same day. We liked the car and pursued the deposit at the quoted price.
Now the dealership is telling me that their manager is insisting on @ $2,000 in dealer add-ons (echo, running boards, etc). Can they do this when they've already provided a quote in writing? I've been talking to my rep weekly for several weeks and now they try to pull this? Isn't this otherwise known as "bait and switch"?
Now my rep is claiming she'll talk to her manager tomorrow and let me know.

Here are the list prices for those accessories. Please note that these prices do not include installation (though some are a no-brainer to "install," e.g. the cargo cover). Also, there are plenty of mail-order or Internet discounters who will sell these at a substantial discount (some even include shipping). Though if it doesn't come with the vehicle it just has a standard accessory warranty (dealer-installed accessories are warranteed with the vehicle).
side rails for the roof rack: $170
cargo tray: $89
cargo cover: $139
side steps: $499
splash guards: $42
wheel locks: $49
When you said "cargo trays" I don't know if you mean just the cargo tray, or do you mean other items, like:
Cargo liner: $205
Cargo organizer: $59
Cargo net: $39
"Is this loaded Pilot still less expensive than a base MDX?"
Yes, but not by as much. Though that depends if you can buy a base MDX in your area for MSRP or not (takes some looking around and depends on where you are). The Pilot EX-L lists for $4,220 less than a base MDX.
EX with leather is running sticker. CR-Vs are running at about $900 under sticker.
Thanks for the lead. I contacted Wesloh Honda and got on their list. Also gave them 500 deposit for a sagebrush EX later delivery.
Nora says any additional accessories/options can be added when it arrives.
Hope everything stays this easy when the vehicle arrives and they don't try and force the options.
if you don't get a drive out price you don't know for sure. Don't forget about all of the extra little charges that can be added in the TT&L, like dealer prep fees, environmental fees, etc. I would discount the pilot $500 if I can charge $1,000 for dealer prep. Good luck to you all.
More likely they are second-guessing their decision not to shaft Odyssey customers and make even more money...
It all averages out...
sorry...couldn't resist!

If so seems that Honda is really screwing with the buyer -- did not Toyota do the exact same thing with the Sequoia?
Or are there still 'import' note the quotes on these guys/vehicles?
I am now more wary of buying from Honda/Toyota if they are out there creating their own market demand/supply ratios in order to get higher prices -- and dealers that are really sticking it to consumers with delaer packs that make it even more!
Did Chrysler do that with the PT Cruiser? How much can they gotten for now? Invoice + say about $100?
I offer MSRP on a Pilot EX-L from his next allotment. He said his General Manager ordered him to sell all his Pilots loaded with optional equipment. He said he ask his GM if he could sell me one @ MSRP and contact me @ work tomorrow. I got the OK the next day.
I put $1000.00 down on a Silver Pilot EX-L and paid MSRP $30,980.00.
Delivery in 4 to 8 weeks.
