Does that price include destination fees? I would assume tax + title etc were to be added on top of that price? Those prices for the EX-L are great. I was just looking for the EX but if I can get the L for that range, I'm going for it.

    Thanks again!!

Looking to try and get started on a deal for one of these vehicles, and wanted to get and idea of pricing. I understand there is a $1000 incentive to the dealer, so I was shooting for $500 under invoice. We're thinking of doing a two car deal, which would include an accord. I assume I could get more off both vehicles, given the new models coming and the incentives. What would be a fair price? I was hoping for $29000 for the Pilot EX w/leather(+ttl/fees), and $22,000 for the Accord EX 4cyl w/leather. Thats $500 under for both. Should I shoot for lower?
  • deejdeej Member Posts: 4
That included the destination fee. I also took another poster's advice and purchased the extended 100,000 warranty for $1,150. I believe their price is $1,050.

I financed the vehicle from American Honda Financing Corp at 4.99% for 60 months.

    Hope the info helps.

2 Dealers in No. Va offer Pilot EX-leather for $28,200 freight included...I dont think that you should go more $28,000 for the car..
  • cabintripcabintrip Member Posts: 6
I just got back from the dealer who offered me the EX-L for 28,888. That includes the 1000k off for incentive and a $300 profit for them. So they say.
    Tax+Title OTD price $31,0000. Thoughts?

I went to Ragsdale in Westborough, MA and Bernardi Honda in Natick, MA (see links below). Both were willing to offer the same price but Bernardi gave me more for my trade-in.

I bought EX (no leather) at $25,600 including destination in north NJ 3-4 weeks ago. So you can start negotiate at low to mid 25 range.

Just bought my EXL with NAVI in Houston for 29,868 (sticker was 34,320) and had another offer for 29,877, put me out the door at 31,992. I think that's a super price, I'm happy. Got it at Gilman, they were great talk to the internet mgr to hook you up. No hassles, worked it on line, and car was ready when I got there. Finance rates moving up though, that's the bad news. last month Honda had .9 to 2.9 financing, that's gone so now it's above 5. This board helped me a lot to know where the prices needed to be. I also heard that 06's will be a 7.3% increase in price next month, not sure if true or not. FYI.

    good luck in getting yours.

Basically you paid around $27200 for the car with destination..this is great price
Would you please give dealer name in Phily..thank you
  • yaqui316yaqui316 Member Posts: 7
I was wondering where to start, given the wide variety of prices I see on this board. Is there a huge difference in the region/state that the car is purchased, as far as price goes? I understand the supply/demand thing, and figured that was the difference in price. Do the incentives to dealers vary by state? I saw $1000 on th Pilot, but saw a post that it was actually $1800. I feel like the deals should be there, given the new models arriving soon, and that we're trying to purchase two vehicles.
I'm also running into an online sales guy who won't give me pricing via email! I should probably avoid this guy, but I'm trying to find the best deal.
  • cudohocudoho Member Posts: 15
    Here are my 2 cents:
look at that the dealers inventory and still with your game plan.
In No. VA every dealer has at least 2 dozen sitting in the lot...
One just gave me and offer for EX-L for $28,000 +tax+ tag fee
I still hold on to my firm $27,000 with dealers and driving them crazy...
By the way I have been dealing with them via phone...
  • atanneratanner Member Posts: 13
I did nothing over the internet. However, I was well informed about the current Pilot market. I just went to all Honda dealers around here and asked for their best offer. Keep in mind that they have to get rid of 2005 models. Make them understand that you
    - are not an idiot who wants to pay $35K
    - are well informed about current rebates and/or incentives
    - will shop around to get the lowest price
    - are not in a hurry to buy a Pilot
    - ask them lots of questions about the car and tell them what you do NOT like
    - .....
  • jdduhon1jdduhon1 Member Posts: 2
paid 29,900 + DEST. + TTL = ~31,700. Included splash guards. Best deal around. Inventory on RES is low in the area. Every dealership had a couple at most.

Last night I bought a 2005 EX-L w/Nav from Rosenthal Honda in Tysons Corner, VA for $31,722 out the door. Also got 2 years of oil changes, appearance package for free. Please let me know what you think of this deal. I dealt with the internet sales manager and he was great. The finance guy on the other hand :( I was paying cash for the car and he tried four separate times to get me to finance, almost to the point of deceiving me into it.
  • abccabcc Member Posts: 10
Yes I bought May 31 from Fairfax Honda,VA at $31800 exactly same model plus I got 1.9% APR financing as well.

Looks like you got a exactly same deal, did you tried for 1.9 % APR ?? It is better than using own cash !!

    Hello,

Thanks for your posts. I'm interested in a 2005 Pilot EX. However, is Honda still offering special financing? I see 1.9, 2.9, 3.9 expires 9/6/05 per Yahoo.

Also, is the incentive $1,000 or $1,800. I could not find any info. on the $1,800 incentive, just $1,000

    Any help is appreciated.

Has anyone bought a Pilot in the Northwest (WA, OR, ID, UT) at a price worth mentioning? My local dealer is still way high relative to prices reported elsewhere.

    Thanks!

Have you guys seen this lease advertised for an EX (no leather)? the fine print says you have to pay a Cap Cost Reduction of $1999, making the net Cap Cost of $26,438.

What I want to know is if anyone has leased this car. It seems people are buying this car for $25-26k. If that's the case, then I should be able to lease this car without a down payment and still get the same payment (if not a lower payment)-- Right??

Just want to know what people are getting for leases.

I would like first to say that this site have been very helpful in helping me with correctly pricing my Pilot before buying. However, I would like to point out and make all aware that some of these prices that are posted are not exactly legitimate or let's say fair to use.
Here's what I have found. Some have posted that they have gotten incredible deals well below invoice, however after emailing these folks and questioning where they are buying they are revealing that they traded in a vehicle at time of purchase. Let's face it, if you are trading in a vehicle they can sell it to you thousands below invoice if they have a trade in to bargain with.

Just an observation that I hope can help folks out when heading to the dealer
    to do battle.

    Totally agreed with you CabinTrip
One dealer in No. VA gave up on me for trying to buy EX-L ($27500 with dest. charge) using the price in this forum. The best i got so far is $28,000.00

Yes we all want good deal out of our dollars but posting boggus purchase prices will devalue the meaning of this helpful forum..
  • plxplx Member Posts: 1
Dont know about other places, but quite hard to find them in bay area. Most dealers have none, or at most a couple of them, lucky if they have the color you want, compared to 30 - 40 EX varieties in their lot. Just bought a new one for 23,600 + TTL , OTD approx 26k.
wanted to get an idea what the window tint costs for an pilot LX. can someone post what they paid ?

What is the best price you guys got for 05 Pilot EXL with Nav system around NY or NJ please? I am thinking to get this one. Any information is helpful and appreciated.

And when does incentive for Honda expires pls?
  • carkcark Member Posts: 9
0tis1, I leased the Honda Pilot EX on 7/2/05. The lease was $249 per month (including tax, 36 months/12K per yr) and $1500 due @ signing. ($1500 = Acq. fee, 1st month, security deposit, title fee, doc fee and NJ tire tax). According to my lease agreement, the agreed upon value of the vehicle was $25,163.73. The adjusted cap cost was $25,415.63. The money factor was 3.29% and the residual was 62%. I e-mailed eight dealerships in regard to price and lease payment. The lowest I received before the above deal was $309.00 per month and $1600 due @ signing.

This forum is great. It seems members here are paying less than invoice and the listed TMV. I'm glad I read the messages. Going back through a few months of entries, the average price paid on an EX was $25,797 which includes Destination and $28,122 for the leather. Does this sound right? It sounds great to me since invoice is $27,612 for the EX. I emailed seven dealers and told them I wanted a base EX for less than $26k and that I had a preapproved loan. Please let me know any advice you have and if $26 is doable. Thanks. BigD in Texas.
  • botitasbotitas Member Posts: 3
Noticed your in TX - I would say that $26K is doable for an EX. Bought a new Sage EX with 9 miles for $28K driveout from Gillman in Houston back on July 4th. Works out to just over $26K. Back then not everyone was offering the 1.9%, 2.9%, etc. financing. I agreed to buy only if they could get me 1.9% for 36 months. Not sure if it's true, but they told me that they had to 'buy down' the APR. Hope this helps.

No trade in. No transfer. It was our second car.
At all Honda dealers, stay firm and more important SKIP the level and talk directly to the general maneger. The thing is they must sell their cars. So, they have to be flexible with some "not easy" customers like me. The dealers try always to keep the balance. I mean, they sell many Pilots for 27,500 (base price) and above but also a few for 26,500. Just be mentally very strong.

Sorry for your Leith experience. Here at Crown in the Internet Department, the price of the Pilot EX-L RES is 29,756 (including Dest).
  • ralph9ralph9 Member Posts: 88
We bought our EX-L two weeks ago In Boulder at Fisher Honda through their internet sales department. I obtained seven bids on line and their offer of $700 below invoice was the lowest by $250. They had no dealer prep or add-on charges and we did not opt for any extended warranties. It was a 75 minute drive for us, but the deal was so clean that I will consider buying again in the future from them. We added crossbars, splash guards, an air deflector and automatic day/nite mirror for $706.
My only suggestions at this time for Honda is to make running lights standard on their U.S. vehicles as well as their Canadian models for safety reasons, and to put better tires than the Goodyear Integrity on this vehicle. This tire rates out extremely poorly in all ratings that I've read. I wish they would have put Goodyear Fortera or Michelin brand tires on the vehicle and added to the cost. I hope to get 20K from the tires before getting better ones.
Our vehicle has already been baptized by two grandchildren and we all appreciated the car like ride. Take care.

I want to thank everyone in this forum. I got a ton of information and helped me make my decision easier.

I purchased this afternoon Pilot 2005 EX-L from Route22 Honda, NJ. The deal was very smooth and professional. Here are the details:

    Base rate : $27,100
    Dest : $ 515
    6%Tax : $ 1,656.90
    Docs : $ 199
    DMV(CT) : $ 150

    Total : $29,620.90

I had the rate quote over phone 3 days back and went today and completed the deal.

I just put a deposit down to get a dealer trade for an EX-L.

The price I have been offered is:

Base Price: 26,100 (includes dest charge)
    Tax: 7%
    Plates: $143
    Doc fee: $55.39

I have paid a $500 deposit that will go towards the purhase of the vehicle.

This quote was lower than other quotes I received by $1800.

I fear this is almost too good to be true and am anxious to actually get the EX-L and have a smooth transaction. Any issues you would think I need to watch out for ?

    Thanks.

Is that for a new car. If so, that is an incredible deal. Does not sound right to me.
  • rockvillerockville Member Posts: 2
That price does seem a bit low.

I would confirm that the car IS new (ask for odom reading)
Make sure your price is the final price and includes any dealer installed options.

If it's legit, you've got yourself a good deal.

    ---
  • rockvillerockville Member Posts: 2
$29,130 (including wheel locks and mudguards)
$31,475 (after tax, tags, processing, destination)

    My Observations
    1----
QUOTE: Don't walk into the dealer until they've given you a quote via email. Deal with the Internet Sales Manager by requesting a quote at their website. Really you should get "Internet Quote" from every dealer within 50 miles of your house. Take the lowest quote in to the dealer of your choice and ask them to match it. This saved me about $600 the morning I was buying the car.

    2----
Don't trust anyone who says "I'll beat anyone's price by $500" but is unwilling to quote a price of his own unless you come into the dealership. This represented 1/2 of the deals I spoke with over the phone.

    3----
Dealer Added Options - Tell them what you don't want - as well as what you do. Sounds silly but how many of you were "required" to buy "optional" wheel locks and mud guards because they were already added. Frequently options are added to the vehicle after you don't object to them being part of your purchase. You can get most optional equip (built to oem specs) after market at 1/2 the price.

    4----
If a dealer is offering special financing that other area dealers aren't offering, they're probably going to mark up the price. Read the fine print in the advertising - it usually say's something like "Special Financing may effect final offer"

    5----
Extended Warranty - Read carefully what it DOESN'T cover and ignore the story the finance guy is telling you when offering it.

    6----
Know how much your trade in is worth before going in.

    I hope this helps someone.....
  • wmdfflwmdffl Member Posts: 6
I emailed seven dealers. I received two quotes, one for 2% over invoice and the other for $27,600 which includes a $895 appearance package. I told them I wanted an EX for $26k. Others asked me to come in because the manager only makes the deals in person. I guess I will have to go talk to them next week.

EXL for $26,100 in the above message? Something must be fishy. The $27,100 with destination included is a great price. I might pay another $1000 for leather and the other options.

....first rule of thumb, don't believe every thing you read. I have a feeling either some of these people put cash down and "forget" and leave that part out... or they want all the glory that they got the best deal out there so they write what they want. I can tell you that I just paid $24,000 for a brand new '05 EX-L last week, just emailed this dealership and thats the price quote I got... wow, what a deal! (Oh, I forgot about the $4k deposit check I wrote...?)

...or "forget" they had a trade-in, which in that case, there are too many variables to just say I bought the car for $xx,xxx.

As far as I can tell, if you walk in to a dealership to but the car, straight up, no trade-in, etc.... you should be able to legitimately get it somewhere $500 to maybe $1,000 below the published invoice.... Also understand that car pricing is also geographic, meaning some cars do well in certain areas and not so well in others.... in the not-so-good areas, you can get better deals.

Take everything with a grain of salt... hope that helps.
  • wmdfflwmdffl Member Posts: 6
If we agree on a price, should I be able to ask the dealer to find me the Pilot I want (one of the colors I like and one with no dealer add-ons)? Should it cost me anything extra? I know they push the vehicles on the lot. Thanks.
  • chronochrono Member Posts: 149
Finally pulled the trigger on a cloth Pilot EX, Sage in color. Thanks to the forum I got the best price possible. I got the car for 1K under invoice. Here is the breakdown. Tax and title expenses haven't been calculated yet..

    Base Price: $26615
    Doc Fee : $79
    Splash guards: $65

We bought through Stephen Vincel Honda in STL, MO. The internet dept was easy to deal with and I pretty much settled on the price before walking in the showroom. All we did was sign the papers. We financed through Honda for 5.0% over 66 months and we are getting a 10 inch dvd system installed for 1200. I highly recommend them since they are very friendly and will give you the best price in the area, IMO.

I need some guidance - I want to buy either the LX or EX-L (undecided b/c of extra price) and in doing research, came across information about the 2006 Pilot which is being remodeled and is rumored to include some features I want (like side air bags and VCM and may be less in price with the rumored 2wd models to be offered).

For new 2006 cars in September, will dealers be able to still offer at invoice or below?
