He had the leased Jetta. Was fine, but always regretted not getting the GLI instead. Really likes the A3, but always wanted the S3 instead.

I’m starting to see a pattern. At least this time, he went for the big dog motor.

Miles are low but that bumper is misaligned. I'll take a stab at maybe $18.5k, tops.

    Hello,

Looking at the 2017 CPO below.  $42k OTD.

Brakes done at 30k service.  New tires at turn in from lease.

$42k OTD is a GREAT deal for CPO. I would have expected $42k BEFORE taxes and tags.

Hello. I hope I am posting this in the right form. I am currently investigating the purchase of a 2016 GMC 1500 Denali with ultimate package features. The truck has 39000 miles and has a white Frost tri-coat color. 8 speed transmission 5.3 engine 22 inch wheels on new rubber automatic running boards that go in and out. Essentially it's fully loaded Soup To Nuts except for the 6.2 engine just has a 5.3 I was hoping I could get some insight on what this cost should be valued at thank you in advance

Thoughts on $22,000 for a 2016 Audi Q3, 29k miles with Quattro. Clean car fax.

NOT a CPO but still has 18 months or so left on the warranty.

Here's the final question then, I can get a
2016 Q3 (above) NON CPO, Warranty ends in 20 months for $22k
    OR
2015 Q3, CPO. 35k miles. From Audi dealer. CPO ends 6/2020. 4 brand new tires. $20,551

    Both have same trims.

So, basically you'd pay an extra $1,500 for 6,000 miles and less warranty. Any other major differences? I know which would be on my list, but I'm a big fan of low cost.

    @xwesx ? The 2016 has a longer warranty. 6k less miles.

The MSRPs were 38,420 for 2015
    2016 - 38,545

I feel more comfortable buying the Audi CPO from Audi rather than an Audi from a non Audi dealer. Is that crazy?

More just want to make sure I'm getting a good price

A little, but peace of mind means something. The warranty on the two vehicles may not cover the same things either. And, sorry about that; I'm having a hard time wrapping my mind around 2020 being NEXT YEAR! Hahhaha

The BtB warranty is better coverage than the COO. long term, that 2016 is probably a better deal.

It's not crazy, but it doesn't mean you'll get the better car. There's a lot of puffery in CPOs, so personally I wouldn't pay too much extra for it. It depends strictly on what value is added to the CPO'd car--the term "CPO" by itself shouldn't sway you.
  • mhockey21mhockey21 Member Posts: 16
The four new tires and 35k mile service make me feel better about the CPO that's for sure ...

I should mention I'll be putting roughly 3k miles a year on this car...

I'm sure he'll follow up before too long. He posted a little bit ago that he was out helping his brother buy a vehicle.

@mhockey21 At that mileage per year, and if you plan to keep it a while, I wouldn't worry to much either way. If the equipment on both is basically the same, get which you prefer and never look back.

    Thanks.

So, I don’t know why, but both are being offered to you at auction value. Take your pick. For the price difference, I’d prob pick the younger model. Although 4 new tires and longer warranty might be preferable. I can understand your dilemma.

My opinion is drive both, assess the condition of both, and pick whichever one seems to be in better shape. I'd pick the younger car with B2B warranty, personally, unless the CPO was in much better shape.

So 37000 even plus tax and dmv fees, I guess i did ok . Next question is what extended warranty. They are trying to sell me an "interstate warranty "
That's the company. 10 year 100000 mile from the fate of my purchase for 3400 plus tax.

    @anthonyrrr,
Can you search for someone who sells GM(not other party) warranties online?

That is an entirely different question, not related.

There are probably a gazillion different threads in a bazillion different forums about this very subject.

My personal take: I have never, and will never, invest in an extended warranty sold and backed by anyone other than the vehicle manufacturer.

Remember one golden rule: an extended warranty is insurance. And all insurance is a bet, a gamble if you will. Extended warranties tend to be stacked very heavily in favor of the issuing company. They make the odds in Vegas look positively reasonable.

These days, I have the wherewithal to be able to pay for any repairs out of pocket, so I choose to carry my own insurance.

    YMMV

On high end vehicles there are a lot of things that can be expensive to replace.
For example the headlight/taillight housings with built in LED's on my wife's MKC are about $500 each.
The radar taillights on my F-150 are in the $900 range each.

I have little idea what replacement part costs on either of my vehicles run. I'd definitely consider an extended warranty on a vehicle I suspected might be problematic--one of the early BMW twin turbo I6 engines, an Alfa or Fiat, etc.

That Sierra Denali sounds ideal, other than I'd prefer the 6.2 liter engine.
  • anthonyrrranthonyrrr Member Posts: 24
I agree with all mentioned and there is a 100 dollar deductible per occurence. That being said 100 dollars doesn't cover the hr of shop labor. For ten years that's 340 a year less than 34 dollars a month. I have a Subaru legacy the goes through wheel bearings like gasoline. I wish I had so coverage. Life is a gamble. Sometimes a little piece of mind of priceless so to speak

    Hi,

I'm looking for an estimate trade in value for:

2008 BMW M3 sedan in Jet Black
    manual
    101k
    Washington

Any chance you have current dealer auction value data for:

    Toyota 4runner TRD PRO
    2015
    Black or White
    55k-85k miles

I'm seeing $33k for higher mileage and $36k for lower mileage in the western states. I was hoping for $31-33k range.

    Thank you!!

About $14k trade on the m3.

4runner won’t be that cheap unless somethkng is wrong with it. Cheapest ones with under 100k still fetch $32k.

You may want to look into leasing. They are pretty cheap from that perspective.

    Trade in value for:
    2014 Lexus CT200h

    48k miles

    Potential buy for:
-2016 Lexus GSF (nationwide search). Seems like more lease returns coming in and price ranges from $47k-$60k with less than 30k miles. Debating if I should wait until end of year to better gauge the lease effects.

    -2015 Toyota 4runner SR5 Premium with 90k. Asking $24k

    Thank you in advance!!

Do you have a trade in value for this? It is a local trade in at a major dealership (non-Toyota). Very curious to see the gap and potential pricing leverage.
  • 28firefighter28firefighter Member Posts: 9,821
22.5-23k at auction means they may have stepped up a bit over if it was really nice on a trade because they wouldn't have transport costs - that would hurt your leverage. I'd say there is no price leverage in this, especially if they had to do any reconditioning.
