Also for pure curiosity what are Porsche Cayyene S with the normal stuff doing at the auctions.
1998 BMW 528i Black on Gray, 71000k miles Clean Title
glass sunroof, gray leather, wood trim, sport package, 18" staggered M5 wheels, it has a few scratches on the back bumper, a scuff and the front bumper, and a ding on the left back passanger side door ( very small ). It is well maintained I detail it about every week or so, and change the oil regularly. Anything else let me know guys
But onto the important items, we have a friend that bought a 03 Acura RSX about 6 months ago and now they need to get into a 4dr car or van, because they now have a little one on the way.
It's silver in color, dark gray leather, auto, NOT an S, has 7,100 miles, it's clean, no kisses as you call them, looks new (it is!) has all the power options, has a fact wing. They paid like $22,000 for it new and now 2 dealers are saying like $15/$16 on a trade for a Ody, Pilot, MDX.
We have had Acura's before and I don't remember taking a beating like this. I hope I didn't leave anything out, I hate going to my room.
As Always, Thanks!
M.
Oh..the reason I had to have body work done was because when the thieves stole my HID headlights they bent the fender and hood tips up (the dirty blank,blank,blanks,blanks....well,you can figure out the the blanks).
BTW, could you tell me if you think $36 is a good purchase price for a 03 Acura MDX touring w/nav and 3299 miles ( it was 2900 miles before the service manager at the dealership started driving it around 2 weeks ago, after I put a good faith deposit down on it,which the dealership failed to process....but that's another story)?
Again, any input you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.
Still an automatic would be better.
FYI we just bought a 98 Maxima, fair condition, and 95K without leather for under $4500. It needed tires, extra detail (lots of McD's fries under the seats), and all maintenance up to date before sale.
BTW a 5-6 year old 70K car might qualify as good/average condition, I have yet to see a more than 3 year old car with more than 25K miles be even close to excellent.
Would really like your take on this. Took my current vehicle, 2000 RX300 and was offered 22,000 for it at local Lexus dealer. It is FWD, 29,500 miles, Silver/Gray leather, dimming mirrors & CD (pretty basic for 2000). No dents, clean, non smoker, just a few small stone chips up front. Seem decent? Thanks!
It's rare to find a excellent condition used car, especially a 10 year old one, but they do exist. You just have to know where and how to look and you have to be meticulous about maintenance, care, and even where you park it.
I do think I made the point about the poster needing to give a really, really accurate description of his car, especially if he thinks it is almost excellent condition. There is just no way Terry (or anyone else) will be able to judge the car without a lot more details.
As someone else recently posted. Normal wear and tear can mean a lot. A single shopping cart ding may mean nothing to one person but be totally unacceptable to another.
Silver, no slider, no chromee's, 46k, a small meteorite hit to the starboard side of the vehicle .. sounds like in and around the mid to high $12's, "could" roll towards the $13ish zipcode depending on the rubber, service, etc ..
03 "S" with 3/4k, loaded up, slider, etc, are doing in and around that $47ish range depending on the color ...

Sorry for not enough info

*walks off singing.....I love you....you love me....we're a happy family....*
it's a silver automatic. no options.
another question: what's the sales tax on cars in houston? just looking for a ballpark figure.
Anyway, here are the details:
Black, 2.5T. No dings, dents, etc. Excellent condition, 14k miles. Only time it's been in is for 7500 service and regular oil and fluid changes. AWD. Premium package (leather, in-dash 6 CD, homelink, moonrood), climate package (heated seats, rain sensor wipers, air quality sensor). 17" wheels, which were an option on '03 but I believe are now standard. NO versatility- so no 3rd row seat (I know, could've used it!!!).
Anyway, can't find a number anywhere- the only prices I've seen are on this site, but those are actually so close to original MSRP (mine was $39,430- and sold for VERY close to it) that I can't believe they are accurate.
Thanks.
Jeff
Could you please tell me the value of a 2002 VW Jetta GLS with 1.8T motor. It is a Blue, 5 speed manual loaded with every option (sport package and wheels, heated Leather, Sunroof, power everything, CD, Monsoon Sound system, etc.) It has 19,000 miles on it and 2 years of warranty left. I am in New Orleans.
What should I expect as a trade in?
Thanks
But if it's any help, any 95 GS300 that's c l e a n, miles in the 60/70k range, knee deep, lookin' and feeling like any 01, can still do the $9's on a trade .. drop it in any paper and "phooof" ~ gimme $13 grand .....
Terry
Handshaker, GLS, big tunes, slider, 1.8t, hinky blue color, cold package, 19k .. lot's of Jetta's around, seen bunches down by Jackson square .. trade side, in and around the $12's, "maybe" "if" it's super clean, glows in the dark, no kisses, no Mardi Gras leftovers, it might "maybe" scroll towards $13, the color, the miles and the handshaker kill it ... how much do you owe ...?
Terry.
Terry.
Ouch.
I assume one can send the bill to Mr. Bangle?
-m
Your supposed to have the Mardi Gra parties on the streets, not in the Jetta ....
Terry.
Terry ;-)
One more, please?
46k miles.
Color is a weird silver-brown-gray type deal.
Don't know how else to describe it, just like a really dark silver; I kinda like it.
It's got pwr locks/windows/mirrors; cruise, AC, and it's auto (3sp, ugh).
No, it's not for me :-)
It's at the local "Pontiac Superstore" and a buddy's wife thinks she's going to buy it.
She's a microbiology Ph.D. from India, and this will be her first new car... the salesman is somewhat confused; she's doing all the talking, but he's doing the driving. This ought to be fun...
TIA,
-Mathias
Meaning it's not a LSI ... no wheels, no slider, no cd, no side airbags, color is like a gun metal (Academy gray by Caddy) and we have 46k .. dealer probably paid in and around $5,5/$6,0, add a this and that, "maybe" $6,5 to the table $7,9 or less should take it home, miles kinda hold this one back .. now if it was a LSI .. ..
Terry.
$15/$16 ...? .. unless we have some KFC in the back seats, some side or front kisses from the K-Mart battles, then $15,0 does seem a little on the looow side .. $16/$16,5 would be just about all of it, even with the low miles ..
Acura builds a great vehicle, but the RSX, like a lot of coupes, they either make it or break it, that's a tuff market especially this time of the year ....
Terry.
'98 Volvo S70 T5 automatic
slider, cowskins, bun warmers, new rubber, seats have been hovered in, no paintwork. Could pass for an '00.
82K big ole miles
Coral Red over tan leather here in jersey.
Please be gentle.
thanks

Well, I held out on you.. they're "asking" $6995, at which point it didn't look to me like they were trying to kill anyone.
I suggested to my friends they try a little lower, but not lose it... it's been there for a while.
Not a bad little car... hmmmm '01 Prizm... or '97 Camry with double the miles for the same $$$ ... lemme think here... -m
We are looking to purchase an 04 TL or G35 and would like trade info for the following cars:
2000 Black Ford Focus SE
25,000 miles
Sunroof
Powerlocks
Spoiler
16 Valve Engine
Cassetteplayer
serviced only at dealer car in great condition
and ...
*~~~ SE, miles are super low, color is good for the area, we got a spoiler, slider (factory.?), auto (I hope) .. actually this sounds like a pretty nice vehicle .. trade side, in and around the low to mid $5's, maybe might "could" roll towards the $6 figure -IF, it's clean and nice ...
1994 Boston Green BMW 318IS
Sunroof
Grat Cloth Seats
Powerdoor locks
74,000 miles
car in very good condition ..
.... *~~~ these dudes have to have all the service, no repaints, deep in the rubber dept, cloth (no help), no rust (especially around the sunroofs) .. if it looks, drives, handles like a 98, then trade side you should be seeing in and around the high $4's, "might" see as much as the double nickels ($5,5) .. if it's Jam up, glows in the dark and needs -0- ....
Let me know ..
Terry.
Miles won't be your friend here, depending on the dealer, trade side in and around the high $7's, could roll towards the low $8's ...
Don't forget to let me know ..
Terry
Guess its no new car for a couple more years (after which time I should have in the neighborhood of 130K miles, so it will be worth what? $2?).
Thanks for the help, Terry.
yeah, i really like the color, too. not many around quite like it.
So its back to my idea of picking up a beater to put heavy miles on. I'm thinking a low mileage Hyundai is about the cheapest way to go. Would love to hear your opinion on that.

The new TLs are real nice however. If the 6 speed is as nice as I have heard, it might make for a tough decision.
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.
What about underbody surface corrosion? Take a good look under the fender wells, bottom of the door seams, etc. At least you live where there is less road salt use. Was it smoked in?
Honestly, it is not worth much even if perfect. It is a 93 Escort Wagon. Lets see 99's with low miles 40K are doing $5500 at retail. Yours is 11 years old now. If the service is up to date, per time schedule (not miles) and it looks like a 2000. $2500 is a fair asking price private party.
the 6-speed is REAL nice. That's what I test drove on Saturday. First car I've driven that I thought "yup, this is better than my volvo."

Fingers crossed it sells. Didn't even bring it home, drove it from the shop to the car lot. I told the guy that I'd like to get $5k out of it, but anything over $4k and I'm happy. Seems to be what the market is for those darn things.
I'll probably buy an 04 but I was curious if I could save "much" by buying slightly used.
Thanks!
