The color is right, it got new tires, a slider and all the right power stuff ...
We won't get any help from the miles, there a little stiff ..but, all in all, if this is as clean as you tell us, you are probably lookin' "in and around" the $8's..
I hope this helps..
Terry.
Based on what your telling us -- this 3, is like new, new, new ... $26,900 is a fair price to ask, to say the least ... he has to have close to $25 in it, with or without warranty.
Let's say he paid $24 at the auction. auction fee $275, transport $125, check and clean..$300
This vehicle being super clean I don't feel he is asking too much, actually he is asking too little, but start him up at $25, and see what what happens (with smiles)..
Good luck...and let us know what happens.
Terry.
I will have to go take a looksee and go from there. If he tosses out a suitable my car + $ number, an early Xmas present for the wife (who didn't even know she wanted it).
2020 Acura RDX tech SH-AWD, 2023 Maverick hybrid Lariat luxury package.

While we're at it, know a shipper who can get what is basically a non-runner from Flemington to FL for me?
Bill
Working on Vauxhall #4
Also, friend is trying to trade in his clean black 1997 JETTA with 31000 miles. Automatic, premium Audio (no roof)
Shoot. I'm just gonna wait till I see plate frames like this:
CHICAGO, IL
SOBERS HONDA
;D
The Jetta.. that a GL? $6,500-7K is where I think ya oughta be if so.
OK.. the Accord. It'd do like $14,00-14,500 across the block if its real clean.. Leather, roof.. all that junk they tend to have.
Tell em the Jetta and $8K and start em from there, but Jetta and $10K is still a good deal methinks.
Bill
I have test driven atleast 50 Hondas !! that includes S2000 & a yello 1994(93?) NSX too !!
Thanks to the GURUS (TERRY/BILL) of this board we are getting a very good guidance
So, my bid is-- $5,000, and you have 5 seconds to make a decision. --- Ooops too late.
Terry.
figure out what kind of car that was !
I was thinkin tr7.......Thanks...Geo
Bill, I can swing over to Flemington and pick it up for you, and then drive it down your way, but I'd need a vehicle for the return trip. The topaz xj8 will do.

You said $9500-10,000. The dealership where I traded it gave me $11,500 for the car!
But the reality is, "on the push" -- you might have received $10/$10,500 (real money) ---
No dealer, and especially the dealers in Baltimore would ever put Extra clean book, in a vehicle with damage and high miles.. They can go right down the street, or to the auction and buy a super clean one for a lot less $$$.
I don't mean to hurt your feelings. But, they showed you an over allowance... Sorry.
Terry.
I stopped by a Lexus dealership today because their online inventory showed a black '98 LS400. It was sold, but they had a silver '98 with 42k miles priced at $33k, and a 2000 black/black LS400 with 62k miles for $35k. Both prices were after a $2000 "discount" that was marked on the sticker. I didn't want silver, and the 2000 had a few too many paint chips on the front bumper, and about 4 minor dings that they said thety were going to have Dent Wizard fix. How were their prices?
On a separate note, the Lexus CPO warranty seems decent.
Thanks,
Quentin
The miles are a little stiff for the buck...
Terry.
Ok, let me start over ... it sounds nice, it has no miles ..and the right color with 4 dr's ...ooop's it still has a handshaker..
I think $14,500 is a stretch, but if a dealer will go that far ..then jump on it, obviously it's in great shape.
Ok...let me start over again ... it sounds nice, it has no miles, it's the right color, it's a 4dr.... and it's a handshaker -- with CLOTH...I'm pooped.
Take the $14,500 and run like....Rudolph, cause it's worth less ...
Terry.
Of course, my '97 Contour SE was a huge loser at trade-in even tho it was a honey, and anything with Lexus on it's sheetmetal is a sure winner...
But what about, as a rule of thumb, the rest of the players?

Umm, get a job selling Hondas
Glad to help!
Bill
2000 with 65,000 Miles? And youd even consider buying it?
{Bill Smacks Quentin with wooden plank to snap him out of insaneoland}
You ought to be able to do better than those ##s..
Bill
Turn it in, hand them the keys, say "Gee, its been fun but you guys can have this one"
$14,500 is a SERIOUS Stretch. Yeah good color, Im sure its all nice.. NO miles.
But its a STICK.
If I put a dime over like $13,000 in it.. MAYBE $13,500 I'd need my head examined IMO.
Terry? Whats ACV here you think?
Bill
Thanks
Adam
I HATE the high miles, but.....it's a Toyota!
BTW, I'm the guy with the '98 RR who's bugged you for advice a few times. I have an ad in for it--you wouldn't believe the %^*#*%'s who come over wanting to pay even less than wholesale, & are rude, etc. etc. --(then again, I'm sure you would, such is life!)
Thanks! Happy Holidays.....
Thanks
Adam
Quentin

Thanks

I say take the $$ and run. Lets see what Terry thinks..
Bill
Hmm.. its gonna do $29K or so across the block, so I think a fair private party price is closer to $32K MAX...
$35,500? Hells no. I betcha you can find a certified one from a dealer for less than that.
Oh, offers below wholesale? Rude people?
I hate jerks, and, being from Jersey, I enjoy being a jerk right back. (This applies to those who are both nasty AND indignant.. "Look, my offer of $25,000 is more than fair, youre an idiot if you dont take it, I KNOW what these are worth")
"Well, that's an amusing offer, but I've taken it to 3 local dealers who all offered well more and really wanted the truck, so thanks, but maybe you guys need to find one that's a couple years older or has some frame damage or something"
Something like that!
Bill
Yeah its a great buy until you realize how tough it is to sell a 3 or 4 yr old Lexus with 100K on it unless you give it away or find the village idiot with a wad of cash...
$35K is around wholesale for a 25-35K or so one (ROughish guesstimate off the top of my head but Im sure Im close here)
So what dd they hit this thing at? $27K? $28K?
At $30K it is a deal. But even so.. unless you drive very little and keep it a while..
Bill
If you want the car, $15,400 isnt a bad retail price at all really. Figure I have $13,500 in it. Then it runs through the shop ($200), I have it detailed.. ($100)..etc.. I'm gonna want to see $16K out of it.
And, if you REALLY like it.. I mean, you DO know its history, and a 14K miler stick isnt an easy car to find (Granted, 90% of the people out there DONT want them, but those who do have a tough time finding them).
Still, you need to be on the phone with your leasing company.. see if they'll nego the buyout. Remember, the less info you give em the better.. but offer em $13K. Just ask to speak with a manager. Mention that its' a 5-speed too
Bill
6sp manual
dark red
black & tan interior

How much could I get for it if I sold it instead?
Thanks,
Quentin
Quick questions:
Do you think that Kelley BB etc is adjusting their values towards wholesale/auction #'?
Has it been just recently that the auctions are much lower or higher #'s than kbb?, or is it more noticable with cyberspace?
Thanks
Nate
Augustus: As far as SUVs, I would definitely go with a pre-certified car. Too many thing can go wrong with the 4x4 system. But for most cars, if you have a good mechanic, have him/her check it out thoroughly and you should be fine.
My guess (and it is only a guess) is you can probablay sell it for $7000-$7500.
Thanks.
You can't expect to get close to wha tyou paid for the vehicle. The vehicle has been used for 8 months. Why would a new car dealer want your used car? He's has plenty o perfectly good new cars he is trying ot sell. he doesn't need or want your used car.
If you want top dollar for your car, you have to sell it privately and deal with the headaches.
Sam
Thanks,Sam
Only thing is seats in front have spray string stuck in them
Looking for cash to move into Plymouth Volare.
Thanks !
