I really like the I30. Its very quite at low speed but it seems a bit noicy at higher speeds but it just might be me. My garage smells like a new car :-) I love to drive this car, with the radio all the way up... My 2.5 year old doesn't care for the 200 watts in her ears but... just kidding :-)
I envy you people.
gwar-The audio system in the 2001 I30t is much much better than the one on TL. I believe the 2002 will do the same.
I need to buy a car by the month end and have decided to buy the I30. I live in Richmond Virginia. Would appreciate any input on how much ($$) i should be able to cough up. THe color comb i have in mind is titanium silver with graphite + traction control and heated seats pkg.
Or you can go to carsdirect.com and punch in your zip code to check what is carsdirect selling.
$26000 price of car
$3 Georgia Lemon Law fee
-$1000 Owner Loyalty
Total $25003 out the door
They were competitive to beat my local dealer. I got everything in writing before going and had no trouble with the numbers changing when I arrived at the dealership.
With the great sale price. owner loyalty and dealer incentive of $1500, I managed to purchase at over $5000 below MSRP.
It's been a mystery for me, but I have a 96' I30T and I have been filling my washer fluid quite frequently. It keeps disappearing, and no...there's no leak. I would fill it up to the brim and then a few days later it would disappear. Could it be that the water would have evaporated or something? Don't know how's that possible, but it dries out pretty quick on hot days. I don't use it often, but I do maintain the engine as often as possible and I keep seeing it empty, anyone have this problem?
Who did you deal with at Troncalli? Did you handle it through internet, fax or phone? I live in NC and Atlanta is not that bad a drive and they may be more competitive. Any tricks to buying/leasing car long distance?
You can write to me off board if you'd like - georgeju@airmail.net
Thanks,
Sid
Georgeju: Over about a three week period I placed and received phone calls from Troncalli. I spoke with two different sales people and the sales manager to hammer out all the details. Ken and LaPege were the two sales people and John Cunah was the manager. Everyone was great and LaPege ended up handling everything once I got to the dealership. John finalized the selling price and faxed me a buyer's order so I would have it in writing. I was leary at first about the deal since it was long distance, but once I had everything in writing I was ok. I was expecting some kind of trick, but there were no problems. If you contact anyone, ask for Ken or LaPege. LaPege has been with the dealership since April and Ken has been there for over 13 years. It would be whatever you prefer.
It definitely was worth the trip. Who knows, you might could turn it into a trip to see the Braves, if you like baseball?

accidentally lower the windows and not know they were down. I had the
feature on our 98 I30. Don't miss it on our 01 I30. I heard a rumor that the
windows could lower themselves if there was a malfunction of the remote
control system. I could understand Infinitis' reluctance to keep this feature.
Miller Infiniti-Van Nuys, CA. REFUSES to add the fuel line protector, unless I want to pay $75.00 or MORE (Yeah - right), so I had my mechanic order the parts as described in other posts and is going to install it for $25 or less. (I don't have the time to jack up the car and do it). Infiniti acknowledges that their cars had it up to the 2000 model, but claim ignorance as to why it's no longer there - yeah right!
My mechanic who use to be a Nissan service advisor said that if Infiniti drivers have accidents where the unprotected fuel line is an issue, the resulting law suit pay offs will cause them to recall and re-install that part. Hopefully no one will get hurt, but I guess thats what Firestone thuoght! So to save a few bucks ($20 or so) they left the part off. I hope they don't start nickel & diming the I-35 like that or this may be my last Nissan product.
WINDOWS: Another money saving issue. The only way to overcome this (if it bothers you) is to install an advanced car alarm like a Clifford System, that will activate your windows UP or DOWN prior to entering or exiting the car and walking away, upon activiating the alarm button.
Works great, but it is an additional cost, but I wanted an advanced alarm system on my car and that was one of the added benefits of the system.

I live in St Louis and those delicious E/W coast deals aren't available here...yet. $28,000 seems like best local price on I-30 with moon roof and heated seats. Best advertised prices are about $28,450. Tons of I-30's are sitting on dealer lots.
Anyone hearing of new discounts/programs coming for September? I can wait a few more days. Surely the price will only go down...especially in the mid-west.
Invocie of I30L-$28108 with no options. Since Infiniti is offering $1500 dealer incentive, try to negotiate the car from $1000 below inovice. Good Luck.
Went by another local dealer today and they had even more I-30's than last week! Dow off another 160 points also indicates big incentives must be around the corner.
Also, is there an expiration date for the $1,000 rebate for previous Infiniti owners, or is this an ongoing promotion?
Whats the main difference between the 2003 I35 and G35 models. They're both supposedly rear drive 3.5 engine cars. Why would they be competing against each other.
As far as a sport coupe goes, we will probably see one as a 2003 model, called the S35, based on the G35 body and drive train, only in a coupe version. To get more information, check out freshalloy.com
Tech stock collapse is spreading to blue chips.
We purchased an I30L last week. The only option on it was the splash guards.
We considered the Acura TLS - my wife didn't care too much for the interior finish. I liked the performance, but since it was going to be her car it was out. Plus after sitting in for a while I decided the seats really didn't fit me very well.
The ES300 - we were ready to purchase. We actually could have gone either way, but in the end we felt the I30 was a better value. We actually sent out fax quotes for 250 under invoice for the 2001 ES300 and got a very poor response. One dealer did give us a price that was slightly better but I suspect it may have had a few miles on it. During July they had a factory rebate of $1000 or 1500 and you could probably make a better deal. We got one dealer down to invoice without even trying. In August they dropped the factory rebate and unveiled the new ES300. From what I've read it seems a lot of people do not like the new design and I think the dealers decided to hold on the old ones a little tighter.
Which brings us to the I30L. Overall we're very happy. It has everything my wife was looking for. The lexus is a bit nicer inside with a cushier ride, but it was going to be about 3500 more. We were able to get the I30 for about $1200 under invoice. Plus we got a Bose stereo system. Overall a pretty good deal.
I highly recommend the faxblast method. The key of course is doing the research to see what people are paying. Edmunds is great for this. Assuming they keep the $1500 dealer incentive you might be able to get an even better deal.
The tire's pressure recomendations (tire manufacturer) are for a wide range of vehicles out on the market and DO NOT match your specific car's needs for saftey and performance.

Would appreciate if you could let me know if this is a good deal.Infiniti had sponsored a golf tournament and had used new cars.Dealer is offering one such 2001 I-30 Luxury, beige/beige, heated seats, traction control, 6-CD for $29400. The car has 800 miles on it. I am on the east coast. This is not the out of the door price. I probably assume the dealer will want to add the destination charges to it.
Would appreciate your inputs on this pricing. If you feel the pricing is high, please advise as to how much i could pay for it. Couldnt pull out pricing for used 2001 from the internet.
Thanks.
And the destination charge only applied to a new car. If the dealer insist the 800 miles car is still a new car, stay away.
Would it be worth if make the deal for $28000-$28400.
THanks again
