My memory seats works fine. Bring it to the dealer to check.
anyone to stay away from in particular?
thanks,
Glendale Infiniti, salesperson is not knowledgeable. The salesperson knows nothing about the car, in fact I need to tell him which car has the nav. or not. This is unbelievable. The sales is not willing to sit down with me to discuss the price. Just tell me to go to other dealers and find the best price and bring it to him. Then I think, "Gee, you want me to do all the work for you."
Beverly Hills Infinit-This dealer never response to my internet request.
I actually filed complaints to Infiniti to these 2 dealers. And Infiniti had open a complaint files on these dealers.
I ended up by buying mine in Metro Infiniti. My salesperson name is Fred. He is the fleet manager. He is very knowledgeable and up front. And he did a very good job on follow up work.
Good Luck.
1.) Protector-Filler Tub-17290-2Y000 $13.67
2.) Protector-Rear Wheel-76749-40U00 $7.47
3.) Clip-01553-09321 $.81
Items 1 and 2, you only need 1/ea. Item 3 you need 6 of those. I looked at it after the service guy delievered the car. It looks much better. I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
Oh, I also inquire about the screws. The service guy said it only need 2. But you'll need the clips.
Thanks
I plugged in the part numbers and here are the prices:
1.) Protector-Filler Tub-17290-2Y000 $9.33
2.) Protector-Rear Wheel-76749-40U00 $5.09
3.) Clip-01553-09321 $.55
It's interesting to note that the retail prices the web site quoted are lower than the prices charged by the infiniti dealer. I guess another case of Infiniti charging more than a Nissan dealer for the exact same part.
Also keep in mind that any Nissan dealer and any Infiniti dealer can order any part they want from NISSAN USA. There is nothing to stop a Nissan dealer from ordering a i30 bumper as long as they have the part number. If the work is not warranty work, Nissan can do whatever you want on your i30. They won't do warranty work because NISSAN USA (the Infiniti division) will not pay them.
RE: Auto seats. I had a Clifford alarm sytem installed on my '01 I-30 and they had to disconnect my battery -- which disabled my auto seats (even with the cancel switch on). I checked the manual and apparently when the battery is disconnected you have to: put your key in the ignition (do not turn on) and open and close the drivers door twice (I know, sounds like voodo). I was able to reprogram my auto seats after that - weird, but it worked. I had called Infiniti and they had no idea how to do it other then to tell me to bring it in.
RE: I-30 sales. I have found that most of the car sales people are NOT very knowledgable at all. The "closer" they bring in is usually the guy that knows a heck of a lot more about the car then the salesmen who come and go. The best bet is price the car on the Internet, checking various sites, print it out and ask them to match it. If they don't - walk out and go to another dealer!!!!!!!!! There will always be a car for you to buy if you decide to pay more!!! The trick is DON'T GET HOT!!!!!!! They know you will and will seldom let you reach the end of their lot without making a better offer. (Remember they check the Internet too and they know the prices that are being offered.)
laheat-$795??? That's high. Even my dealer charge $699. Well, I got is for free. Nothing can beat free.
Others-to other 01 I30 owners, do you guys have the fuel protector installed?
is the best place to buy the 6 disc magazines? I checked with one place and they wanted almost $30 for 1 magazine. Is that what they should cost?
Thanks.

jay
ps
maybe its telling me to slow down?
If anyone gets a great deal in the Southeast region, please post.
I was wondering why Edmonds had no mention of it last month. It really wreaked havoc with my negotiation.
Thanks
If yours can't be repaired, I would insist on original parts, genuine Infiniti windshield only. Ask the dealership where they get their windshields repaired (there are sometimes cracks in windshields, among other problems, on newly delivered cars). Under these conditions, you shouldn't have to worry about the performance of the windshield, or degradation in noise level, etc. of the new windshield.
On another note, the only complaint that I have for my car is the rear seat cupholders. A can of soda is completely too small for the compartment and there is no back plate to keep it from sliding. As such, I'm required to open the compartment only halfway and rely on the back end of the console to hold a soda in place. Could there be an attachment that the dealer forgot to provide me when I purchased the vehicle?
