We bought our EX from Wulnet Creek Honda. Please contact them directly. The impression I got is that they are selling a lot of EX there, many a day. I was told that Honda is trying to unload inventory before the end of the year.
My best wishes.

Just a comment about your deal...I plugged your numbers into kbb.com for trade-in value ('04 Accord EX, manual, 19.5k miles, excellent condition), and it gave me $16,475. Again, that's TRADE-IN VALUE. No offense, but if your car is in as excellent condition as you say, you are getting cheated out of a good $1000, which doesn't make your deal look so hot anymore (still good, but not as great as it initially seemed). When you meet with the dealer again, you should bring a printout of your kelley blue book value for the trade-in, and ask for that amount. Something tells me the deal will fall through at that point.
Good luck.
Bryan
internet manager is a pleasure to deal with there. will do most of it over the phone for you
I am in the market for a new odyssey. Can you please do me a favor and email me the salesperson's name? You can find my info in my profile.
Thank you,
Max
can you tell/recommend me what is the best price you received/got for the Honda Ody EX with Leather and DVD. Please tell me the dealer name and please email me the saleperson name to leemai@comcast.net.
On my trade('04 Accord EX Manual Trans, Black 19.5K miles) , I figured my car as "Good" condition for KBB $15,555, and "Clean" condition for Edmunds $14,990. There is one small dent on the driver's side front fender between the wheel well and door of my car. It was enough to slightly change the fender's alignment with the hood line if felt with your finger. It's hard to see to the average person but a professional appraiser will pick it up easily. Although everything else is immaculate, this dent, very hard to see, is enough to make this car only "good" condition in my opinion. Ironically, the car was perfect until about a month ago when this dent mysteriously appeared. We were not in the car when it happened so I'm assuming it's a parking lot incident. Still, the car has always been hand washed and waxed by me and it has been Honda serviced as per severe duty maintenance schedule. I also added the "invisible bra" 3M paint protection film, on the front facia, hood leading edge, side mirrors, and door handle cups. It was professionally installed and did a great job protecting from stone chips, road salt, and sand. Dealer installed options were splash guards and cargo net. I was debating on getting the dent fixed before trading in. I think it would have been a wash. Even if I made an insurance claim, because of my $500 deductible, the most I stand to gain is about $500 and there was no guaranty. I also think the body repair might have lead to more questions on the vehicle at appraisal. The appraisers at the dealerships have these measuring devices to determine the thickness of paint on the vehicle. They use this tool to help them detect where body work has been performed. Body shops, when painting, probably don't match the thickness of the factory coat of paint. I thought it best to let it be out in the open as cosmetic damage that can be inexpensively repaired at dealers cost. I think $15,300 is fair for my trade even though I'm taking a beating on it.
That being said, I spoke to the dealer last night over the phone and asked for $28,000 including dest. and $15,300 on my trade with 2.9% financing. They accepted. I also had them remove the $99 window etching charge from the contract. The only other charges are $1047.75 NYS sales tax (8.25% where I live), $33.50 plates/reg., $45 Doc fee, $10 NYS Inspection, $12.50 NYS Tire waste. I also spoke to the finance manager to confirm that I am approved for the promotional 2.9 APR financing through American Honda FC, which I am. I put down $500 on credit card to hold the vehicle. I'm pleased overall with this deal. It required a lot of work on my part. It ends up $890 better than the first deal I had ($28,590 Ody/ $15,000 Trade). I got my deposit back from the first dealer yesterday when they couldn't match the price of Middletown Honda. I feel I have the best deal I can get at the current market conditions in my area. I'm picking up the van on Wednesday morning. Just to let everyone know. I found another site to be very helpful. www.carbuyingtips.com Make sure you all read the "Top 10 New Car Dealer Scams" It saved me on the window etching fee. Good Luck everyone! Thanks for the help!

Invoice was $29,964
Offered 1K over invoice and paid $30,964
Received cargo mat, cargo tray, leather steering wheel cover and all-season mats (all installed) for $100
Dealer fee of $299
Filing fee of $29.50
Honda 2.9 percent financing
We just got a pretty good deal on a 2005 Odyssey - $28,500, without including tax and DMV charges. Very happy with the dealer (out on Long Island, NY) and the car. Didn't need financing; paid it all up front. Not sure, but that may have had an influence on the price.
If you want an internet price go to www.hondacityli.com and look at their inventory. Some of it is listed with a "sales price" much lower than sticker. It was a helpful benchmark when we went our actual dealer.
We tried the "all cash" tactic at several dealers and none of them budged at all. One said they would waive the $299 dealer fee for all cash. That was it.
It went, check/ask about sticker price, get a test drive, look at colors immediately available, then talk about what the best price was. It helped that the dealer wasn't playing many games... looked up BBB listings to find this one, which was hands down the best dealer experience we'd ever had so far.
We just contacted them ... They wonldn't even budge from MSRP now, saying they didn't have the color we wanted on their lot.
Guess hondaconvert1's post made them too popular :-).
I paid 29000 which includes Ex cloth +Destination charge+TTL( $ 2300)+ extended warranty($ 800). So roughly I paid 300+ over invoice.
Guys, how do you rate this deal in chicago market?

You can post the dealership here - that's it. Please don't post your email, ask to be emailed, etc. If you want to email another member and ask for such information - THEY will have made their email address public if they so choose to have such an exchange with you.
The dealership name is sufficient. Use that to start and go through the internet department or work your way through the sales floor with print outs of posts from this discussion about a consumer's interaction with the dealership.
For all - Please note that many of the dealers are owned by large, publicly traded companies with 12/31/04 year ends. They need to show their stockholders sales revenue and earnings growth and time is running out. They are: Autonation (Power in SoCal), Sonic Automotive, Group 1 Automotive, and United Auto Group. Go to Google and find their websites and then their dealers in your area (tons in SoCal). Contact the Internet Manager and tell him/her you know he/she needs to generate sales by year end. Respectfully ask for the dealer GM or even the Corporate Regional Manager. These guys probably have some financial carrot for meeting or beating preset targets. If you talk their language (i.e, added sales revenue + incremental margin) they should be motivated to get you into a vehicle by 12/31, even if the margin on the deal is below their norm. Case in point, I rec. a call earlier from a Power dealer with a vehicle close to what i had specified. When I advised that I had previously located a vehicle, if was as if I had taken away her Christmas gifts - she sounded very dejected. Happy hunting and good luck!
So far the car has been great. I did not like the dealer Watertown Honda. They were not willing to take any finance and were bent on using HFS. They offered a deal of 3,9 APR. They finally agreed with the Capital one loan I got for 3.5. I will not recommend this dealer to anyone.
I love my oddyssey though
I am also from Middletown area. Thanks for sharing your experience. What were the other dealerships you tried? Morehead remained at MSRP. I am heading to Nanuet Honda and Mahwah Honda. They have a lot more Odysses in stock so I figure they might be able to come down on price a little bit.

The internet sales manager at Classic Honda in Streetsboro, OH is offering invoice+tax+$125 doc fee on any 05 Odyssey (excluding any touring) on their lot. That's the best quote I have seen anyone mention in this forum.
Too bad that I am at least 10-12 hrs drive away from Streetsboro.
I got the quote from the internet sales manager in the afternoon, dropped by in the evening and drove it home. They treated us well; it was a very good car buying experience with no surprises. Their Touring pricing was better than the EX or EX-L (was told that they wanted to clear out some of the touring inventory) in relation to invoice. I don't remember the exact amount, but recall the EX and EX-L quotes were more than $1k above invoice I think. Still, much better than the other local dealers who weren't willing to talk about anything below MSRP.
You can contact me directly if you have questions.
Morehead quoted me $28,590 including destination on an EX-L. Keep in mind, all my deals involved a trade where they will profit handsomely. They only have two EX-L's in stock as of Christmas eve. Nighthawk Black Pearl and Sage Brush Pearl. I also paid a visit to Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsi. They also quoted me $28,590 on and EX-L but they were low on my trade and wouldn't budge. As for Nanuet, they wouldn't match my best quoted price over the phone. I did not pay them a visit. Last year I bought my '04 Accord from Mahwah Honda. They beat everyone's deal on the '04 Accord by $500 without even negotiating. I've heard others had bad experiences with Mahwah but my experience was good as far as price goes. I think next time, my strategy will be to get quotes from the far away high volume dealers first and then see if the local guys can match or beat. Try to get the quotes in writing and make sure you write everything down if if you get a copy of a quote. I find that if you don't put a deposit down, it is most likely the dealer will try to take his quote back from you. They don't want you to use their quote at the next dealer to get a better deal. Unfortunately, that's exactly what you have to do until you reach bottom price. Out of all the dealers I went to, I happen to like Morehead the best even though I'm not purchasing from them due to price. They are real gentlemen over there. I really wanted to do the deal with Morehead and will definitely give them the final shot next time around. Their service dept. is top notch as well. Been servicing my cars there since 2000 and have been very pleased. I felt Middletown Honda is a bit more high pressure sales, but they do come to the table with a great deal in my opinion. They have some deceptive tactics. I learned from them to make sure that every quote you get includes dest. charge. You have to compare apples to apples. Also, they have a $99 window ecthing fee on contract. Refuse to pay it. I you want it done, buy the $20 dollar kit...it takes 15 minutes to do. If you go to Middletown Honda jokingly ask for an '05 Accord EX Manual 4dr for $19,500. The sales manager there told me they sell 'em at that price evry day of the week. That's what they told me when negotiating my trade-in '04 Accord. I wonder if that includes dest. charge
I'll be picking up the van in a few hours. I'll let you know how it goes. I expect the sales pitch for the extended warranty and dealer installed options. Good Luck!
-Jeff
I say enjoy your car. When you bought it you were happy with the price weren't you?
(I like the power pedals in the Touring and don't need NAV or RES.)
Since I'm stuck with it where can I get a service agreement for cheap?
Also, don't always believe some of the "prices paid" you'll read about in internet forums.
Enjoy it! I'm sure you did fine.
Did you go to any other dealers in the DFW area?
