    Anyone been able to find one yet? If so, what is the part numer? Where did you get it?

    A while back Tim Lauro posted his website http://www.iwaynet.net/~tlauro/go-cars/trailblazer/1-main-page.html and he found a filter that happened to fit (K&N Filter #E-2417). K&N hasn't officially suggested this one, but it sure looks like it fits fine. Tim, does the cover go back on with this filter in? You state that you are using it with the cover off.

    Anyone else have any suggestions?

    I just bought a new Trailblazer and wanted to change the front headlights (HID type). I just purchased the bulbs, however I am not sure how to remove the front cover in order to exchange the bulbs. Does anyone know how to do this?

    newtb: Can you explain exactly where you are having a chipping problem. I want to check mine for the same thing. I washed my car last week and don't remember see any chipping.

    agenteleven What is that 1-800 number you called. I want to call and ask about the vibrations in the peddal.

    Check out www.mats.com. It is Weathertech's home web site and had bug deflectors, vent visors for the side windows, mats, cargo liners, roof rack storage bags, etc. I have the Weathertech cargo mat and it fits perfectly and looks great. Those cargo mats are made here in my small town in KS for Weathertech, so I got one direct from the company as it is a client of mine. The big deflector looks great, fits great and took all of 5 minutes to install without any drilling. MacNeil Automotive, who owns the Weathertech line has great products at great prices. Hope you love your Envoy as much as we love ours!

    Just went through this...be careful. The trim bar (across the center of the grill and headlights) and the grill come off in one piece. They are attached with snap in clips. I started at the ends of the trim bar, prying them loose (off the front of the lights), then worked my way toward the center. Be careful not to over-bend the plastic. After you get the grill-bar assy off, there are two clips on each light you slide up to remove it. I didn't have any troubles, but I was a bit nervous getting the grill off.

    BTW: I changed my bulbs to Sylvania Blue bulbs, and it helped some, but I still had to raise them up a little.

    On the rear liftgate, there is a large plastic piece in which sites the license plate, the lights for the plates, and near the bottom edge, the gate release lever. Around the edge of this piece, the liftgate turns in, and there's a little crease formed between the edge of the plastic piece and the sheet metal. The paint is chipping away in this crease out from the plastic. I first noticed it when I waxed my car, and it looks a lot like there's just dirt in the crease, but if you look closely, you'll notice the paint wearing away. Obviously, it's easier to notice on the indigo and black vehicles.

    k12ltbill,
    I bought mud flats for my TB at gmpartsdirect.com. For the two sets, I saved about $20.00 vs buying from the dealer. They fit perfectly, but you will need part numbers before ordering. One way to get the part numbers is send an email to Customer Service on the website, it took about 4 days to get a response.
    After getting the part numbers, I ordered them form the website and it took about 1 week to get them.

    As for floor mats, I looked at both the gm mats as well as those from Weathertech at mats.com, but it did not seem as though the Weathertech mats fit real well. You comments confirm this as well.

    Last week, I picked a brochure of accessories for the TB at my dealer. GM does have just about everything you mentioned escept the sunroof deflector available for the TB. I would assume the same products are available for the Envoy. My brochure has list prices, but gmpartsdirect.com was still cheaper than the dealer even after adding shipping costs.

    I called 1-800-222-1020...

    She took my name, address, phone number, VIN number, and the name of my dealership. I also provided her with the number for my dealership.

    As far as the chipping goes, mine was barely noticable a day or two after I took delivery of the truck... it has worsened a little over the past month, but the chipping has not extended outside the groove. If it weren't for the plastic pushing the paint off, it could be fixed quite satisfactorily with just a little touch-up paint.

    If GM redesigns the part, or if they make a rubber gasket to go in this area, there may not even be a need to repaint unless the primer is rubbed off, too. Just me thinking out loud.

    Has anyone found a good set of running boards for a 2002 Bravada, preferably with a luxury type look instead of a ruff 4x4 look. Has GM ever actually came out with their running boards for the 2002 Bravada? Also how about mud flaps for the Bravada?

    flyersrule: The chipping is where hrunting stated in 2574, however my chipping exists all around the plastic piece.

    I got my Majestic Red LT TB in July. I didn't notice the chipping until I waxed it a couple of weeks ago. You won't notice it by casually looking at the vehicle. However, get close and you'll be able to tell if you have chipping or not. Since I've noticed the chipping on mine, I see it every time I see the back of my vehicle or any other TB that has it.

    My brother works for the dealership where I purchased mine, so I expect them to address my situation shortly.

    For those of us with this problem, my dealer said that there is a recalibration procedure that has been sent to the dealers. My Envoy will be done next week. Has anyone had this procedure done and if so did it correct the problem? Mine is definitely at its worse when the Envoy is cold.
  • bglaysherbglaysher Member Posts: 6
    Well, just rolled over 10000 km. No major complaints so far. I've only had it a month, but drove cross Canada from Ontario to BC for a vacation.

    I towed a small (16') boat out, and didn't have any problems with power (3.73 gears), even through the rockies. I think I got about 12.3 L/100Km for mileage, which was quite reasonable considering the speeds I was doing (100kph for the most part).

    One thing I'd like to get now, is a rear wind deflector to clear the rain from the rear window. In drizzle, it gets obscured very quickly. Anyone seen anything like that on the aftermarket?

    Brett.

    My driver mirror does not always return to the proper position after using the FOB. I remember other people having this problem. Has anybody had the problem resovled at the dealer?
  • elt93722elt93722 Member Posts: 7
    When one or both of the rear windows are all the way down and the front windows are all the way up and at speeds of 35 MPH or more, my Envoy start to vibrate such that it feels like its going to tear it apart. The problem is really bad if only one of the rear windows is all the way down. If I lower one of the front windows, the vibration goes away. I suspect that the window pane behind the glass that goes up and down is vibrating because of the wind. Has anyone else come across this problem? If so, is there a fix for this condition?
  • pcrisppcrisp Member Posts: 22
    Our Bravada has the same memory problem with the driver side mirror. It completely drives my wife nuts, and I am starting to go a little crazy myself. Usually I always forget about it until I actually go to use it and it's aimed at the side of the SUV instead of the side lane. I have found that if you hit the driver memory button a couple times with the engine running, but in park, the mirror will sometimes return to the correct position. Seems like someone just stated that it was a software type bug.
  • hruntinghrunting Member Posts: 6
    So, after calling GM customer support and talking with them and a service manager at my dealer, apparently they have an open case on it and there are a few known solutions, although GM has yet to release a fix. The problem, as they state it, is that the plastic piece is "new" (duh) and wasn't designed with a gasket. The plastic is sharp, which is what is causing the paint chipping and peeling. So, GM's at least acknowledging the problem.
  • zecgeotzzecgeotz Member Posts: 22
    There are Bravada running boards that Olds sells. They are different than the TB's and Envoy's. There are 2 types, black and clear, and the pt. nos. are 12497681 and 1249760 respectively. You can buy them at www.gmpartsdirect.com for $300 which is much less than GM wants. The clear ones I think require painting, and if you paint them the body color it will look best. I haven't gotten them yet, but I want to, and also the mud flaps. I have read that mud flaps are available fot the Envoy at the website so they may have them for the Bravada as well. Let me know how it comes out. Good luck.

    I have read a little about the memory mirrors problem, and didn't think it applied to me... until I decided to change my settings.

    I changed my driver mirror while traveling down the highway and held Driver1 to set it. After that, the mirror always wanted to point to the sky when I used the key fob.

    I then PARKED the car, set the mirror to where I wanted it, and held the Driver1 button to set it. I was in PARK during the whole process... it works correctly everytime now!

    So maybe the thing to remember is to be in PARK when you "save" the mirror settings... It seemed to work for me.

    Hello -

    I have a PU and am looking for more room and I have been doing less hauling so considering this sort of SUV. The new motor looks great. Any links to some tech sites for it? Hot Rod mag did a nice feature on it a few months back.

    My question is did anyone compare this to the Buick Rend. SUV? I know the Buick is not as "truck like" in terms of towing and HD four wheeling, but for most people those things are meaningless. I just need room and very occassionally some decent traction in muddy parking fields and maybe once year in snow. The new Envoy would seem to overkill for my needs but that's not bad. Realize the buick is based on a van and has a whimpier 3.4l motor, but it also gets decent fuel milage and has a decent ride and interior room.

    Has GM reprogrammed the trannys yet?

    Thanks,

    Dirk

    Hello!

    I have a IB LTZ which I have had for about 5000 miles now. I am getting 18.57 MPG overall, slightly improving (1/4 MPG) over the last few thousand. FYI, on about 3/4 oof my tankfuls, my DIC says 0.7 MPG higher than actual, other times it has been 0.3-1.1 off, and I reset the DIC at each fill and record actual mileage.

    Whenever I get to about 1/4 tank, my fuel guage is VERY erratic. Not only the DIC "range", but the analog guage on the dash as well. If I take a turn, it can go up to about 1/2 tank, or if I turn the other way while slowing, it goes to empty, from a range oof about 100 miles to "low" in a few seconds. Sometimes it takes several miles to "shore" back up to where it was before, and I don't feel that it is accurate at any of these times.

    Anyone else see this issue? I had a Durango before this, and the "DIC" mileage range never had this issue, was pretty accurate all the way to 0.

    Thanks!

    minn_tb:

    My TB LTZ now has about 7700 miles on it and I've had no problems with erratic fuel gauges. The gauge is very steady under all driving conditions. Sounds like you have a unique problem to me.

    As far as the DIC MPG figures are concerned, my experience is similar to yours... it always shows better MPG than what I'm actually getting. By the way, mine runs down to about the 20-mile range before the FUEL LOW is displayed on the DIC. On several occasions I've filled it up immediately and found that there was still about 1.5 to 2 gallons left in the tank.
  • agentelevenagenteleven Member Posts: 95
    That sounds just about like mine, minn_tb.

    My DIC is off more when the travel is mostly stop and go traffic. It gets closer to actual mpg when I've gone for long stretches on the highway.

    The first time I got below 1/4 of a tank (closer to 1/8th, really), I had a cow because the needle sank and the range in the DIC went to 0 in about 5 seconds as I was turning through a freeway off-ramp. It came back up to an 1/8th eventually, but I bought some gas just in case.

    I guess the moral of the story is like my parents always told me: It's better to drive on a full tank than to drive on an empty one.

    The drivers seat on my 2002 Envoy SLT has just died - no servos or heaters. Since it happened whilst I was moving it I suspect a tripped circuit breaker or fuse. There's a large fuse under the back seat for power seats but that's fine - the passenger seat still works. Does anyone know of any other fuses or breakers that might be to blame?

    edl55347,
    I just looked again and www.gmpartsdirect.com doesn't even list a '02 MY vehicle much less list the Envoy. I asked the parts folks at the GMC dealer and they had nothing on Envoy accessories. I wonder if the TB mud flaps fit the Envoy (and if there's any type of Chevy/TB designation on them)? I'll send a note to the GMC folks to see if they have a part no. for them. IMO it's piss-poor for GM/GMC not to have even a listing for a vehicle that has been out as long as the Envoy/TB on their web sites (www.gmpartsdirect.com ect).

    Someone said they had a Lund Hood Bug Deflector for the Envoy, I called Lund directly and was told they haven't finished producing one for the Envoy yet. How or what make/model did you get?
  • k12ltbillk12ltbill Member Posts: 6
    I just saw where www.gmpartsdirect.com is NOT owned by GM Corp., it's an independent GM dealer's site.

    That still doesn't excuse GM's lack of acknowledgment of the '02 Envoy and TB on their accessories site.
  • edl55347edl55347 Member Posts: 46
    I just checked the site, it does not list the 2002 TB either. As I stated earlier customer service at gmpartsdirect.com was very helpful, email them with all the info on the items you are looking for and they will provide the appropriate part numbers and LIST prices. You can then key in the part number on gmpartsdirect.com and see what your real costs would be.
    The TB mud flaps would probably fit your Envoy, but they do have the Chevy logo, so I assume you would not want them.
    I have to assume that since they have a lot of accessories for the TB, they would have them for the Envoy, but you can only find that out for sure if you have the correct part number.

    When I visited the local Chevy dealer, it took them a while to find the mud flap prices I was looking for.

    If you have a combined GMC/Chevy dealer nearby, they might be more helpful.... just a thought.

    Hi again. The vibration is still there right at 50-55 mph (mine really hits right at 51mph).. It is not as obvious as it was before but that is simply because my normal cruising speed has increased ;) so it was not as apparent.

    Please keep posts coming on the shifting issues. When cold, there is not doubt shifts are "hard" Now~I always try to allow plenty of warm up time before driving so it's really become a non issue. I have spoken with other GM owners and the "cold/ hard shift" seems to be pretty common . But, there is no doubt something else on that trany is odd. I find that I still have little pickup from that 45-55 range..actually from start also. However,if I am at a higher speed (65+) and push to pass.. she kicks right in and flies but the RPM's have to hit about 3 then she'll shift in.. there must be something "off" one would think you would have more pass/pick up power from a lower speed? Who needs a flying pass from 65 - 70? Calibration sure sounds logical...then again ..I don't know if my 3.42 would have anything to do with this? I wouldn't think so.. Sorry if I get this terminology wrong but wouldn't I have more torque at low gear? Would appreciate any clarification on this. I am going to try to write down a little more on the RPM ranges at speeds .. I think the key is in that combination somewhere... and that is probably where my gas is going too..I actually do mostly highway driving (though short distance)

    Here is another perhaps dumb question. My truck was ordered and delivered to me at home.. Thus my purchasing dealer is far away. Since I have not made any visits to a "dealer" yet~ Is there anything I should look for in finding one with "above average" mechanics for "her" It's my understanding I can go to any dealer but I would like to find one so I can be consistent with who is handling the "works~"

    Oh.. Bobmn thanks for that link...My TB was delivered in September.. how would I find out "If" that August item was addressed? A dealer?

    Thanks ~

    I left the envoy at the dealer on Tuesday afternoon, At first they could not get it to squeal, I explain to them it was raining, it didn't squeal when wet. They finally heard it on Thursday.

    Service order stated, "Seal dry at right front wheel spindle at axle entry F1500 road test, R&R right front half shaft to inspect, lubricate seal and retest."

    Drive it 30 miles back home, no squeal. Then this morning after driving about 1 mile, IT'S BACK!! Just as loud as it was before. Louder than the Bose stereo with the windows up.

    Now they want it back first thing Monday. This time I want a loaner. If they don't fix it, I guess I'll have to call GM customer service.

    I am getting ready to order an Envoy and have read every article in print. My only question is has anyone had a problems with the power seats. Since being stationed overseas this does not give me the oppertunity to test drive this vehicle. But after owning a 95 Jimmy for six years I know I will enjoy my Envoy. If any can answer my question I would love to hear from them at mtnsnow33@yahoo.com

    12497607
    I had my dealer put them on and they say GMC on them.They are moulded plastic they fit and look good.They help some but don't stop the paint chipping from stone's on the rear lower panel just in front of the rear tire's.

    Thanks to both Mgrcm and Edl55347,
    Edl... I thought you emailed GMC (GMGoodwrench.com to be exact) but I realized you emailed the GM dealer who runs GMpartsdirect.com directly, my mistake. I did send an email to Goodwrench.com but have only received their automated reply back so far.

    mgrcm, thanks for the part numbers but are those front and rear or left and right? I would suspect they would only sell by the pair and those would be ft/r p/n's but you never know. I'll also check the GMpartsdirect site to see if it gives me some idea. I want both the ft and rear sets though I suspect the running boards (I have them on) will help to some extent. Thanks again.
  • mgrcmmgrcm Member Posts: 53
    Those part numbers are front and back.Go to GMpartsdirect.com and you will see retail price and there price.I got a good deal from my dealer buy telling them I could get them cheaper at GMpartsdirect.com and I was lucky enough to have them put them on with no labor charge because I bought the Envoy from them and I guess they wanted to keep me happy.

    After so many months checking and monitor this forum. I finally got my Envoy SLT with SH package. I love the way it handles, everything works just find, but there is only one problem which I never seen it posted on this forum before, maybe I'm the first one. As I came to the dealer last week and saw the Envoy that I always wanted, color and the SH package....anyway I got the car home and start checking out the BOSE system as I wanted so bad, found out that it's not a 6 disc CD changer. My sale man never pointed it out to me, but I did pay for the deal with the 6 disc CD & SH package included.
    I brought the car back to the dealer and thought that it has to be a mistake, because with all the info out there, the SH package included with a 6 dics CD changer. The dealer said call GM, which I did, GM could not help told me to call the dealer again. What kind of customer service is that?
    Well, I am sick and tired of going back to the dealer because I thought they should take care of that problem in the first place.
    According to GM, they said if the order wouldn'd say 6 disc, it will default back to 1 CD, but I said it is a package why would you do that. I'm still waiting to hear from my dealer. Please if you have any kind of experiences, I'd like to hear it from you. And for those of you out there are looking for an Envoy please pay extra attension to the CD player. The 6 disc doesn't have the cassette player. It looks just like the one in the Envoy brochure.
    Thanks in advance.

    It looks like I will finally be taking the plunge on the TB LTZ in the next few days. A few things have happened forcing me into a new vehicle, now. I've been waiting to see an LTZ with the DVD option but have not seen any around here. I asked the dealer to search and find one with all the features I wanted, he found 2 within 99 miles. My questions are the following:
    1) sale price is 33700 on a 37100 MSRP, anyone think I can do better?
    2) if I lease for 3 years / 45,000 miles what is a good residual, 48%?
    Needless to say, I'm pretty excited, I've been looking at the TB's since I first saw a picture of one in Feb '01.

    Thanks, Tim
  • tlaurotlauro Member Posts: 504
    Hey Congrats!!

    Enjoy the pickings too.....take your time and make sure it's perfect....I haven't check the numbers, but the residule is okay. It's really up to GMAC and honestly, I have 48% on my lease and look forward to it. It's a real number and chances are you'll be able to get out 6 months early or even sell it and make some money. I've done that with my past several cars. Actually, I got out of my last two 6 months early, sold them both and made money....or at least would have on my GTP if my dad wasn't the buyer....gave him the car at dead buyout cost....$2k below wholesale for it.

    Contact me with any questions and feel free to use the leasing spreadsheet on my site. It's there for all to use.

    I purchased my Envoy SLT with 1SH package on 11/19/01 and mine DOES include the cd changer. I've researched the vehicle for months and everything that I've read says that the changer is included in the the 1SH package.

    On the sticker it lists:

    SLT PREM PACKAGE W/PROFESSIONAL TOWING (SH)
    * Locking Diefferential
    * Traction Assist
    * Load Leveling Suspension
    * Content Theft Alarm
    * Polished Aluminum Wheels
    * Heated Front Seats
    * AM/FM Stereo W/6 Disc CD Changer
    * Bose Audio System
    * Rain Sensing Wipers
    * Travelnote Digital Recorder

    The sticker price of the 1SH Package is listed as $2,560.00. I also have the sunroof ($800) and running boards ($375) for a total of $36,095.

    Good luck getting this issue resolved!!

    Looks like these vehicles did pretty well in the Rollover Ratings: 3 stars which is as good as any real SUV. Some of the car-based vehicles did better. But it sure beats the 1 star of the old Jimmy etc. See NHTSA site nhtsa.dot.gov
    Offset crash test was Marginal. See links at left.

    I picked up my TrailBlazer LTZ last Thursday and have been incredibly happy with it so far - much nicer than the 98 Blazer I traded in. I'm still trying to figure out what all the buttons do and I haven't even been in the backseat to play with the DVD player and rear-seat radio controls!
    I have noticed though that the shifting seems to be a bit "off", which a couple of other posts have mentioned. I really notice it from a stop - depending on how much gas I give it, it seems to take a while to shift out of first. If I give it a moderate punch, it doesn't shift until over 4000rpm. Is this the same problem other people have been experiencing?
    Otherwise - very nice vehicle! And the Black/Pewter colour combo can't be beat!

    C2h6o: Congrats on your LTZ and good luck!
    You Have the two tone (Black & Pewter) like mine?
    It does look fine!. I also had matching pewter pinstripe put along the entire side (above the door handles). It really brings the two colors together. I also have a problem with Shifting, but have 890 miles on it and will wait till more break-in is completed before I make it an issue with the dealer. I just purchased complete set of front, rear and cargo mats from mats4less.com.
    you may want to look into safeguarding your carpets.
    Happy Trailblazing!

    I got my GM rubber floor mats for the new Envoy today, only 4 months after I had ordered them. The "quality issue" with the manufacturer must now be resolved. I am glad I held out for the GM mats as they fit perfectly, are color matched,look very nice, and appear to be quite durable. They are even two tone to match the interior. They llok so nice I will hate to dirty them up, but that's why I got them-to save the carpeted mats from getting trashed out.
