According to the service manual, the PCV is in the back to the driver side of the Throttle body. It is threaded into the back of the intake plenum and a hose is connected to the end of the valve.
I have an appointment with a dealer to get an estiment. I have the old warrantygold (since changed their name) with no deductable for the Platimun coverage (simular to max coverage) paid 900 for it.
MAN IT SEEMS LIKE EVERYONE IS FINALLY PUTTING 20'S ON THEIR M'S, (AND OTHER CARS). THATS WHAT YOU NEED TO FILL THOSE HUGE GAPS THT CHRYSLER CALLS WHEEL WELLS. LOL... WELL YOUR CAR LOOKS GREAT AJPII, REMINDS ME OF MY OWN. LOL. I'VE HAD MY DUBS ON MY CAR FOR EXACTLY 3 YEARS IT WAS IN APRIL..AND NO PROBLEMS, JUST TONS OF STARES AND COMPLIMENTS.. I GOT MINE WHEN THEY WERE STILL $6,000 OR SO WTH TIRES, BUT I GOT MINE AT COST!!!!!!! KEEP "DUBBIN", TOM (DUBSON300M)
Wasn't there a Chrysler dealer in the Midwest that was selling extended warranties "cheap"?? I thought I had a bookmark for the place, but can't find it. I think the name of the dealer was a man's name. It's somewhere in these 18,200+ posts! ;-))

Sorry to hear about the TCM problem, but more sorry to hear about the way you were treated! Not surprising. Just sad to see that nothing has changed. I think toms99 is one of the FEW people here who give a thumbs up for service. I've been saying it for years- the DEALERS will be the ruination of Chrysler more than their cars will be. That's ONE thing that I don't miss! No one deserves to be treated like that- warranty or no warranty, "5-STAR" or no "5-STAR"!
Got my 3/60 no deductible from Melton Chrysler, Claremore OK.for $630.00 Call 800-525-2952 and ask for Lori at ext. 117. They will discount any Chrysler warranty by 25%, and no sales tax if you live outside OK. Pay by credit card, get Chrysler warrayty card and paperwork in less than a week...Painless!
OK, I've read all the posts and decided to give the full Zaino treatment a try. I'm going to try it on my Champagne Beige LHS anf my wife's Dark Blue Concorde. The Zaino will probably make a bigger difference on the Dark Blue. Since I live near Howell, NJ I picked up the new ZFX as well. This is supposed to significantly reduce the drying time. Has anyone tried the ZFX yet?? Also, I know Sal recommends going the "White Cotton Bath Towel" route, but has anyone tried using a professional random-orbit polisher/buffer??
Do the complete Zaino regimen as described here and elsewhere until you are totally satisfied with the shine. I believe Zaino is the best car polish and paint protectant out there today and you will have a dazzling shine BUT, if you want to go one step further, get a jar of Pinnacle Paste Glaz and wipe a coat of it over the final coat of Zaino (after it's cured). The Paste Glaz will not remove the Zaino polish. I'll let you be the judge, but the best way I can describe it is that your M will absolutely "glow"! If you are hesitant to believe this, try this little experiment: After the Zaino but before the Paste Glaz, pull your car into your garage at night and turn on a light. Walk around your car (be careful not to drool on it) and just get a good look. Now do the Paste Glaz and then repeat the garage exercise. Watch your M begin to glow!
I have 2 yrs and 35k miles on my M and the original battery is working fine. I spray the terminals with silicone about once a year to cut down on corrosion that I have seen on my previous vehicles and which can cause poor connections and premature battery failure. I think with our batteries being so hard to access, coating the terminals is very important so you wont have to remove cables at terminal to clean them.
I notice that the battery has a little window with a green indicator which I assume means the battery is charged properly. What color does it change to when charge is weakening?
In my previous cars I would use a hydrometer to check the battery. But I believe our batteries are sealed with no access to test electroytes or to add water if necessary.
SDmike : that sounds like a fantastic rate you got for your warranty. I doubt I would be able to find anything even close especially with 35k on my car.
I guess I don't understand why someone would have to pay more for an extended warranty if they have 36k on the car than if I bought it new. In both cases the contract coverage starts at 36k, and it ends at 5 years or 100k from the in-service date. If it's from the CONTRACT date, however, that would explain the difference.
has anyone bought a warranty from this company--it sounds like a pretty good deal to me-full bumper to bumper for my car in MA (I have 35k on the dial) is only $1450 with zero deductible and $1150 with $100 deductible. That includes a present $75 discount they are offering. But here's the kicker--the terms for the above quote are 5 years from date of signing agreement (not purchase date) and the mileage is total odometer reading. But here's a bonus they offer---$50 per incident roadside assistance coverage, $30 per day toward a car rental if car has to be left overnight, and even a $75 hotel coverage reimbursement if you are over 100miles from home. And they will even insure your vehicle for 125000 for about $300 extra (good for 5 yrs from date of agreement. Sounds pretty good to me---but this is not a Chrysler sponsored warranty but they have a large selection of authorized repair facilies. It covers everything except normal wear items such as shocks, tires, brakes, bulbs, lenses, gaskets, body and paint.
warranty direct is a public company---here is their profile---they have no debt and 24mil in cash---the ceo gets paid very well and they have little earnings--not a company I would invest in but they seem like they will be around for awhile---they have been is business for 21 years--but then again if they end up having problems like tyco they could go under and guess what happens to the warrrany---here is link to finances and stock chart: http://biz.yahoo.com/p/i/istn.html
AT the moment, the CEO is vying to take the company private at a price about .40 higher than stock price.
I didn't buy from them, but I did a bunch of research into the company. They are underwritten by a strong AAA insurance company, so they're not some fly-by-night.
Zaino - That pinnacle sounds interesting If I can find some I may give it a try. As for the procedures toms, I went with the standard Z1, not zfx. Is there a difference? I don't think there is supposed to be, but it does cost less in the long run, though a hair more work. With zfx I was told you have to add it to each coat, whereas with Z1 you only need it twice a year. It only takes about 15 min to coat the car in whatever layer your doing, so not much more time is really needed. So far I'm at 3 layers of Z5 and 1 of Z2. Will prolly add one or two more of Z2. It's been a pain since sun, since I've been doing it every day, but after this week it shouldn't need anything for a while
As for warranties - I'd love to hear feedback from people who have used the third party warranties (not just bought them). And www.chryslerwarranty.com is another great place to get chrysler factory warranties. It's some dealer in the midwest selling them cheap.
I have a warranty underwritten by Lloyd Anderson (orange county, CA) that was sold to me by a dodge dealer when I got my wife's van. In hindsight I'm pretty sure them offering me a third party warranty would have been of interest to DC corporate! However, the company (lloyd anderson) has been very generous in their coverage, even though the whole reimbursement thing is a pain.
The battery eye turns dark or redish when discharged. Green is good. As a preventative measure I replaced mine at the 3 year point with a Megatron MT-34. You have to pull it out from the tire well so you have to remove the tire and a liner in the fender. It's about an hour to replace the battery start to finish.
Except for the price it sounds like what I have. Too bad they are only giving a $75 discount. A few years back they were giving double that plus the bonus of the $0 deductable thrown in. I guess that is inflation for you. I should be able to let you know how it turns out latter today.
Otto says there's a trick to be able to take it out from above the battery---remove the filter box, turn wheels, unfasten cables, and tilt battery on its side and lift out from the engine compartment---correct me if I'm wrong otto but thats what I recall.
did you buy that warranty from the same company as I am looking into--warranty direct?---I am looking into the 5 yr (from contract date) 100K zero deductible best plan for $1450---not a bad price for the best plan seeing I have 35K on my car and the plan is good for 5 years from now, not from the car purchase date!
I believe the dealers do honor warrantydirect and collect from the company---let us know how you make out
Yup , thats it. You will have to push the black plastic inner liner towards the tire to get room to lift out the battery . Other than that its pretty simple.
I dropped the M off at my regular 4* yesterday evening for the speed sensor. Much better response from these guys. The service manager recognized me right off and just gave a knowing nod when I told him it looks like the sensor failed (told you...he doesn't talk much). He said it would only be $69 to fix if that was the problem. I also asked him to look into my flashing fog light problem, but of course it wouldn't do it for him yesterday. He was even nice enough to ask how they could help in getting me home (unlike that OTHER dealer).
In comparison, the Poway dealer I went to yesterday was like a ghost town. No cars waiting in the service area and the service area itself didn't look like it had a lot of cars there. This one I'm using now is always busy...always lots of cars waiting in line at the service area and tons of cars in the repair bays. Must mean something.
where's the proof that this thing is worth $240. personally i think it's ugly! i don't see how any air gets through that thing. the factory setup is connected to the hole at the fender well. this thing is just hanging there hoping to catch any air that comes through. it's a total RIP!!! and looks like crapolla!!! anyone who says they can tell a difference in performance is just trying to justify blowing $240. getcha self a fram and save $235 or become a victim of marketing ploys.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion that it's ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. FYI, the air charger filter has a MUCH larger surface area than the stock filter and can ingest much more of the air that enters the airbox cavity more quickly. Also, because the airbox is removed you are at least doubling the amount of air coming into the airbox cavity by exposing the wheel well vents to the filter. Lots and lots of air...especially cool air...is a good thing. The battery picture posted above shows the wheel well vents very clearly. Compare this to the doorknob sized hole for the stock system.
My car's done already. Was the speed input sensor. They "cannot duplicate" the fog light problem. Funny it did it constantly for a couple months, but since it's been more summer like weather I haven't used them as much and they seemed to have stopped. Either that or the aliens know they are being watched.
Your picture looks like mine except for I have no filter charger to remove in the first place. Now if they ever need to remove my rack and pinon I am in big trouble. I wish Chrysler made a front rumble seat for this area, LOL.
Mine is in the shop too, being checked over. I do have to say they have been pretty good in the past. I would give them 4 stars. I just wish the guys returning your car would not always take the scenic route when returning your car.
Tell the service manager that you had issues with them in the past, but this time you're very happy with the service and results and hope it continues. Also, don't hesitate to tell them that you tried Poway and were disgusted by the experience. These service managers compete with each other constantly, and a little praise (plus him knowing that you shopped Poway) increases the likelihood of continued good service (in my experience). Congrats. It will also make his day hearing that Poway pissed you off. lol.
Good idea. (Afer I check for scratches and dents first of course). Hard part is getting time with him to tell him these things. The time of day I dropped it off and will pick it up today (just before closing) is very busy.
btw -- anyone in San Diego who wants to check out a special should go to Jack Powell in Escondido. They have had a black one sitting out front for a couple weeks.
Not bad but then somehow those rocket scientists discovered that there was minimal cabin storage and that the front seat headrests did not articulate. Did someone switch the cars on them?
And since there was nothing else to complain about, they had to mention that the wheels were hard to clean from brake dust. How about cleaning M3's wheels, Mr. Christian Wardlaw?
The dealer had one of those landu top 300Ms in red. It was Ugly, but they had the neatest pinstripeing done on the car. When I go back I anm going to take some pics. It gave me some ideas (I know, I know, everything gives me ideas)as if I didn't have enough already.
I'll chime in & say the intake is also an ugly thing. Compared to other air intake setups I have seen. It is a little nicer though then having a cone filter sitting at the end of the intake hose like me & others tried. I'll also say the gains are very little. I'd like to see a dyno with only the intake on a 300M. I bet there is maybe 2-3hp difference if that much. I'd rather have a stock K&N filter with the airbox & not hear the added intake noise. These "systems" from K&N are made for a wide number of cars, & use the same basic layout. None of them are really specific to that car. Like the 300M one looks exactly like the one they make for my Impala. Look it up. There are real cold air intake kits out there, & have dyno's for specfic cars to prove they work, but none for the 300M. I'd like to see AEM make one. They have real kits. I have 1 on my CL-S...

thanks fuzzywuzzy (bro), that's exactly what i'm talking about those k&n cookie cutter marketing hype pieces of bs. may as well take $240 and throw it out the sunroof. and did i mention that it really makes the engine compartment look like crapolla!!!

I found it! It was Mark Roberts Chrysler/Plymouth. http://www.markroberts.com/
Click on warranties on the left. It gives all the prices and deductibles.
Hope this helps the person who was inquiring- easyrider?
