Since the XLE and AWD models do not come with 8 passenger seating do you think you can install your own seat into those models assuming you have the seat to install?

No - the attachments are different.

Did you find a cargo liner? I'm looking online for my 2006 Sienna LE and I see the Husky liner. I was about to buy it when I realized it might not be what I'm looking for. I want one that goes in the "well" BEHIND the 3rd row seats. Some liners cover the FOLDED 3rd row seats.

Does anyone know if the Husky liner fits:
    1) in the "well" behind the 3rd row?
    OR
    2) over the folded 3rd row to the back of the 2nd row?

I have replied to this once before back on September 10. Here you go again:

Just did a search on the website and this is the link to all of the cargo liners for the 2006 Sienna. If you go to mats.com and then select the cargo liner options, it will then ask what kind of vehicle and take you right to all of your options.

Thanks cableguy! That's great. I'm also interested in the Husky liner since it costs around 30% less. Do you know if that one fits in the "well?"

I went to the Huskyliner web site and have attached the following link.

It does appear that the Huskyliner fits in the "well" so if it's cheaper than at mats.com, go for it my friend. I have been buying mats and stone deflectors from mats.com for years and the quality is excellent!

www.huskyliners.com and then enter make and model and year.

    Thanks for the Link.
There's a mat for the well behind the third row, and one that fits with the third row folded away, all the way up to the back of the second row seats - that's the one I want. Even comes in a light color to match the interior.
The all weather mats looked excellent, remember someone in the Tacoma Forum recommending theses guys. Didn't check it out then.

    Hi,
I just bought Sienna XLE Limited. My dealer was selling 7yr/100K platinum warrenty for 1400. Could any one suggest a dealer in bay area to get best deal ( I am thinking about 900 $ will be a great price)

Can anyone recommend a good backup sonar system, that they have installed? Unfortunately, Toyota dose not sell this as an optional accessory, unless you get get the XLE.

I don't know where you live. I was quoted $300 complete for my XLE. It's Glen Toyota, NJ.

For goodness sake hope you didn't get the Silvr. Honda has driven that color into the ground. Boring. Drab.silver isn't "In Style" ...there's just too damn many of them. Yawn!

Don't see one in the OE accessory catalog, here's a good site that carries the OE stuff:

    http://www.trdparts4u.com/ME-CEIC.aspx

Mine came with a step bumper, but you probably want the stuff for parking. I'm sure a generic one would fit with two-sided tape if you feel up to it. You could get that at any local auto parts store, I'm sure.

I realize this question has been asked few times before but I was not able to locate any good answers.

I have 2004 LE and it came with the 2nd row audio controls. I see two screws that look quite easy to remove them. I am eyeing on those cheap DVD players on eBay for $300. Would this work on my van?

Do I need a professional, or can I simply remove the existing console and just plug the connectors?

    Appreciate some feedback.

I prefer manfacture. My friend bought his 99 odessy to install dvd from outside auto repair shop and they didn't do it well so he needs to bought it to another auto repair shop to fix it. I wouldn't take any risk to screw up.

Let me know if you find stainless steel or color coated.
I am thinking color coated would look better.

Does anyone know if a 2006 Denso GPS/DVD will fit into my 2004 model?
I expect to need to add GPS antenna, any other items? is it simply no go? How do I find out?
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    04-05 had a standard double-DIN opening, AFAIK, 4" tall.

For 06-07 you can buy the old style surround and get a double-DIN opening, too.

My concerns would be the steering wheel stereo controls, if you have those, they may not work after the swap.

Could you please share your experience, i.e. what have you added, where did you get from?, did you do it yourself?, how much did it cost?

I'm currently looking for floor mats, hitch, hitch accessories, like bike or cargo attachment for hitch. I'm looking online but could not figure out which one would fit and look best.

Also, where can I get the some interior add-ons to make my LE look like XLE...

    ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Let's see, so far I've added:

    * 12.1" Jensen DVD player, ceiling mount
    * Garmin c340 portable GPS, top of dash mounted
    * Wheelskins leather steering wheel cover
    * Lexus leather shift knob from eBay

The shift knob was slightly used and to be honest I wish I'd got a new one instead.

The kids love the movie player. Makes any trip over an hour a pleasure.

I'm still considering the options for floor coverings. I have the carpets but they are light and look dirty already.

Re: "Wheelskins leather steering wheel cover"

Where did you get this from? What color is this, cost? Was easy to put-on? Does it look the same as on factory leather steering wheel?

    Thanks,

I ordered mine on-line, I think I used Froogle to find it. It was something like $27.

It's definitely nicer than the plastic steering wheel, not quite as nice as factory leather because it's not a custom fit around the spokes.

There are two grays, and I picked the darker one. It's still a little bit lighter than the Stone interior on my Sienna, though it certainly doesn't stand out.

I bought it because I had one on my 1991 Ford Escort GT, which I liked so much I removed it and put it on my 1998 Subaru Forester. That means I used the Wheelskins cover for a whopping 17 years!

It's extremely durable, and the only nics came from my dad's rings, he must be a white-knuckle driver! :surprise:

Give yourself about 2 hours to put it on, be patient.

Which hitch is better, ordering from Toyota of off the market? In off the markets, which are better, i.e. look and installation?

I saw one in shopping mall parking lot and it had Toyota logo on it. So, I assume it is from Toyota. It was tiny and was not nice looking in my opinion.

    Thanks,

Toyota's is very low profile, so you don't lost any clearance under the rear bumper. It also includes two slots for OE attachments Toyota also sells.

Thing is, those attachments are a bit pricey. So is the hitch.

The OE harness doesn't cost a lot more then the aftermarket ones. So if I order one I will get the OE wiring harness.

Aftermarket hitches cost a lot less, but you do sacrifice some clearance. To be honest I sort of want to see how well they fit before I make my final decision.

Can anyone recommend the best way to remove scratches. I just baught my 07 Sienna and someone already put scratches by the door. I've been thinking about using touchup paint but don't think that would blend in well with the existing paint.

    Thanks

Sorry to hear that... I feel your pain ...

I have been thinking about the same as well.... I was at walmart and they're selling different brands of "Scratch X". It claims it will remove small scratches...

Do let us know if your experience if you do something with the scratch.

So I didn't feel like splicing in to the wiring to install a backup camera or an audible backup sensor, so I went with the fish eye lens instead.

I had to special order it from the local auto parts store, they called it a "blind spot lens". I got an 8"x10" sized one.

Install was easy, just clean the window, then sprayed water on both the lens and the glass. I peeled the top half and rolled it out towards the top, then did the same for the bottom. That got most of the air bubbles out. The rest I just pushed out with my thumb.

    How does it work?

It does help. A car disappears in the rear window, yet I can still several feet in front of that car with the lens.

I could be better though. I think it's glare, but the bottom 1/3rd of the lens is useless, and reflects the sky. So you can't see your bumper, or even close.

I did some tests with a chair, and I could see a chair a couple of feet away from the bumper with the lens. Without it you're hopeless, you pretty much don't see the chair at all.

So this is useful if your expectations are reasonable, and at just $14 worth it for sure.

I may experiment with changing the location to see if I can reduce the glare. Maybe even mount it portrait (it's landscape now).

I was looking at something similar. Where does the lens attach (inside or outside). I was under the impression that it would be inside and may damage the heat tracing for the rear defrost. What model did you get?
  • Options
    ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
    Inside.

There's no glue or tape to hold it on. It's very light and basically holds on with, I dunno, static or suction? Peels right off easily.

I moved it because I noticed the wiper was blocking part of the view (originally it was on the passenger side). So now it is slightly more on the driver's side.

No damage to the rear defrost at all. It's just water between them, which probably just evaporated.

Not sure about the brand. I did a special order from Advanced Auto Parts. It was $13.xx delivered, no extra for shipping since they sent it to the store.

It's very, very simple, just a plastic sheet with concentric circles that create the fish-eye effect.

Update: I repositioned it a couple of time, but it's working better than expected. Transparency improved after it dried out, which took about 24 hours.

It is a HUGE aid in backing up. I can see kids standing pretty much right behind the van. Strongly recommended if you don't have audio or video backup aids.

I was at Weathertech's website to buy all weather mats for my 07 Limited when I stumbled upon the floor liner which says it completely covers the carpet. Does anyone have this floor liner and what is your opinion of it? Did you just take out the carpeted mats and only use the liner? Any change in road noise?

Does anyone know if the drop down cup holder in the front row can be installed in the second row? I'd really love for there to be a couple of cup holders within reach of the kiddos, but dont want to put the big console in the back blocking the isle.

If they are still in booster seats, I ended up getting booster seats and have slide-out cup holders on the sides. Each side fits one cup and/or one juice box, so each booster adds 4 cup holders.

To be honest they use them as a catch all for small toys, but it also happens to hold cups when we need it.

I have a 2008 Sienna LE with the standard engine immobilizer, but no other alarm system. I am debating whether to have the Toyota dealer install the VIP alarm system (at a cost of approximately $500) or have an aftermarket one installed at an electronics store. Has anyone had the VIP system installed after purchasing the van? What is your opinion of the system? Was it worth the price paid? Does anyone have any aftermarket recommendations (Viper, Silencer, etc.)? Any opinions appreciated. Thanks! :)

I was wondering if the center folding tray is standard or available as an accessory in the XLE model. What is its price? Can it be installed in the front or middle seats?
  • Options
    ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
The CE and LE come with those. I think the XLE gets the full center console.

I may be willing to swap with you, do you have a gray interior?

We never fold it down, so I'd rather have the extra storage.

So, wanna trade? It would be win-win. :shades:

I'm considering the purchase of a Sienna XLE and it will be used on an occasional basis to transport a hang glider. As a consequence, I'd like to add some type of front rack to van, but like most vehicles these days, the front bumpers are mostly plastic and not suitable for this purpose. I was thinking about having something made that would attach underneath the front of the van and ideally, it would be removable without tools. I've seen people tow vans behind motor-homes so they must make some type of front attachment for this type of operation and that might work for a front rack system.

Does anyone have any suggestions along these lines and/or know of any aftermarket add-ons that might work for me? Thanks in advance for any input you can offer.

We are considering purchasing a '04 or 05' XLE Ltd AWD. My wife is still wanting for the minvan to appear stylish and we have noted the Lexus's RX 330's CLEAR TAIL LIGHTS and want to see if anyone knows if/where these are available for the Sienna. She likes the Silver Pearl but doesn't care for the way that the red tail lights look. Also, any other aftermarket pieces that anyone can recommend that make this more of a one-of-a-kind vehicle?

I ordered a 2008 Sienna Limited and also requested the dealer add Toyota VIP Remote Start. The only reason I asked for this option was due to its ability to be activated from your Toyota Key FOB. I went to pickup the van last night and discovered the dealer installed an aftermarket unit. I told him I did want the aftermarket remote start and he started searching for the Toyota VIP Remote Start. But despite looking through all Toyota databases and websites he could not locate a part number. He does not think this is available on the Sienna.

Has anyone had the Toyota VIP Remote Start installed on a Sienna and are you able to operate it through the vehicles Key FOB?

I definitely do not want to carry around two sets of remotes.
