We will need both the MSRP and the negotiated cap cost in order to evaluate the deal.

I think the Msrp is $40855. I am not sure about the cap cost and money factor

But I look at it from the standpoint of Msrp and monthly payments.

If we had the negotiated cap cost, we could model the payment and determine if the dealer is marking up the MF on you.

Without any reduction to the CAP cost, I get $472/mo. plus tax... So, it looks like part of your $2000 is a CAP cost reduction? Or, your CAP cost includes upfront sales tax? Hard to tell without a breakdown of the numbers..

The cap (capitalized) cost is the negotiated selling price, adjusted with lease cash and fees / taxes. It starts as the negotiated selling price.

Also looking to lease a AWD Q50S, w/nav, tech, deluxe touring packages the bottom line was 48,985. I was told the MF was .00022 with residual % at 57. I was looking to put zero down besides the first month payment and do MSD most likely cap it or about 4500, not sure if that would cap it? Is it possible to get a ballpark payment.

Is the $48,985 the net cap cost? What is the MSRP? What lease term and miles per year?

Well the MSRP was 54,055 but I'm a USAA member and they match whatever USAA qoutes. The lease terms were 12K 39months.

I get a pre-tax payment of $483.55 using your numbers. I confirm both the MF and residual you quoted above.

Really need help with this guys. Was offered this today:

Q50 3.7 Premium AWD, Nav Pkg
MSRP: $45,635
Lease price: $42,727
Cap Cost: $46,007* this is because they are taking my 2012 Acura TL and 3 remaining payments of $363, already owe $2200 in excessive mileage as well. They are using $3280 as trade payoff*** ($42,727 plus $3280 = $46,007)
$1500 due at signing
39 months, 12K/yr
$551/month inc taxes

Them taking the Acura off my hands is a great option for me as I know it will cost me a bunch to get out of the current lease, esp with the excessive mileage, but I still think $551/month is high with them taking the Acura. $2200 in excessive mileage plus $1089 in remaining payments only amounts to $84/month over 39/months. This leads me to believe they are leasing this car to me for $467/month and that seems high.

Please help! Any input would be greatly appreciated!

MF is .00022 and residual is 59% for 39/12. Using your numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $420.51. 9% tax takes the payment ot $458.36.

I agree with you .. adding the remaining payments and mileage charges to your cap should only add $84/mo.

I'd question the numbers with the sales person / finance person. They might be jacking up the MF on you.

No money down besides 1st payment of 651 taxes 2976 ACQ fee 700 tags and reg 351 doc fee 200all included in the payments. Doing 6 MSDs for 3900 caps it, brings the payment with everything included to 599. What do you think? And thanks for the help!

Using the numbers you've provided (MSRP, selling price, residual and MF), I calculate a pre-tax payment of $517.19 for 39 months. Unless I've got the net cap cost wrong and I need to add in the tags and fees to the $49,400.

Is the .0006 MF after the MSDs are applied?

Yes the taxes and fee are not included in the 49400 price. And the .0006 MF is before the MSDs

The payments before the MSDs were 651 after the MSDs tjey were 599. At least that's the qoute I got. The price with tax and fees ends up being 52627.

The reason I ask is, if you agree that adding the mileage and remaining payments adds $84, then $458.36 plus $84 = $542.36, which isn't far off the original $551. It's a huge burden off my back for them to take the Acura so I want to make sure I have my ducks in a row and I'm not getting ripped off. Thanks so much again!

They can't just take your Acura and pay it off by making the remaining payments. Your Acura has a current payoff amount, and a current value to the Infiniti dealer.

So, if the payoff is $30K, and they value it at $27K on trade-in, then the negative equity is $3000. It doesn't really matter about the number of payments or excess mileage, because none of that applies.

Thanks for the response. I do get that and completely understand. Obviously I don't really care how or what they do with, or get for, the car once it's out of my hands. My concern is the mileage and payments that I would owe Acura it they did NOT take the car. And this would amount to at least $3000 out of pocket. Infiniti is using $3280 as my "trade payoff" and adding that to my overall cap cost which is broken down as: $42,727 sales price + $3280 "trade payoff" for my cap cost of $46,007. Sorry if I seem like a pest or am being annoying, just want to make sure I'm making the right overall decision. Again, any input is greatly appreciated.

Just like on a regular loan, the Infiniti dealer that is taking your Acura in trade must pay off any obligations to obtain the title. As my co-host noted, if they are offering you less than that amount, the negative equity is rolled into your new lease.

I agree that the $3280 equates to $84/mo for a 39 month lease.

I would confirm with the Infiniti dealer that you won't have any remaining obligations to Acura if you sign this deal.

About to pull the trigger on this lease hopefully this gets seen before I'm done. Same specs as before for the Q50S AWD with all 3 main packages 12k 39months. 1200 MSD and 1800 down payment 578.45 monthly payment does that sound about right? Thanks for the help!
