thanks.
My SI comes with regular all season tires and does not have the navigation or any other add ons.The price we agreed on is $20,885 which includes all the stupid fees and delivery charge.Sales tax will add another $1044. so I will be out the door for $21,929.00.I have bought new cars in the past and have never experienced such a wall with sales people. While at one of the dealerships I said to the salesman the car is a year old in 2 months, winter is a month away and that the SI is a summer car! you should make an effort to sell me this car and he said to me it was the easiest car to sell because so my people want them.He told me that he did not care if I bought this one because someone else will. This SI he was talking about was a 2006 listed at $21,000 before destination fee, contract fees, dealer prep fees, title fees, state taxes, and put his kid through college fees.
I hope to take delivery on my 2007 SI early next month. The deal is not done until I take ownership and drive off the lot but for now I feel like I got an ok deal on a great car.The dealer made his 5% over invoice and got the delivery charge covered in his price.
Im in Rochester and i am being told that they will only do $200 below MSRP.
Also including Trunk Tray,Mud Guard
That's Good Deal???
TAX $1,230.50
INVENTORY TAX $49.38
DOCUMENT FEE $50.00
TITLE FEE $33.00
LICENSE FEE $72.30
INSPECTION FEE $21.75
TOTAL $21,144.93 OTD PRICE
Any advice would be helpful thanks in advance
Does Honda offer the Graduate rebate program (similar to other car manufacture)? I believe the rebate is $400.
Thanks

How To Qualify

on the AHFS web page - but nothing about any discount or rebate.

It is a seller's market on the car right now - if you want a new 07 Accord you can do invoice or even less but those same dealers will quote you around MSRP on a Civic.
The funny thing is regular unleaded has dropped to $2.159 a gallon here (not cheap, but not $3 either) so paying a lot extra for a more efficient car may not make much since AT THIS TIME with these prices.

When it does go back up I think I will be alot happier filling my tank with premium getting 32 MPG than the GTI owners who get around 16 MPG.Honda has hit a home run here with this new SI model. The 2006/2007 SI will give you performance when you want it and fuel economy when you don't.Those GTI's with 300HP may beat me off the line but I'll pass them when they pull into the gas station.LOL
I think most any Honda is a good car, but the Civics of any type seem to be flying off the showroom floor and the dealers seem keen on getting full price or more for them. My daughter loves her new EX sedan and is getting around 30mpg around town and a car with < 1k on the clock. Pretty impressive.

Just picked one up today. Good deal!
Sticker was 20,100 but like other dealers in the area, they were marking up $2-3k.
You might share the dealer name and location that gave you such a good deal on a new Civic.

My Civic EX Coupe with Navi... I paid $20,810 + $595 dealer fee..
I love the Rallye Red!
The Holmes Honda web page
You have to talk with someone in the Internet sales department to get this price - the e-mail says.
I have no connection with Holmes, but in the past they have been a dealer willing to make good deals. $500 under MSRP is not a smoking hot deal, but with most dealers starting at MSRP and adding either high dealer fees or unwanted accessories - or both, may be a way for some to save some money.
Dennis
I did not buy any accessories or extended warranties.
The quotes returned from 7 dealers varied in price from $17,345.67 to $18,654.00.
We have purchased a couple of Hondas from the Swope store in Louisville and have been very pleased with both the price and the sales experience (everything as promised and no BS).

Where did you get your car? I live in Mpls and have been trying to get a manual EX for 2 months. They say Honda won't build it.
Thanks.
Ritchfield Honda and Hopkins Honda had at least two 07 MT coupes and two used 2006 MT coupes if you can settle on a two-door. Hopkins Honda had a red 07 sedan that kept pushing on me, even though I told them I didn't want a red car. Brookdale Honda was getting a lot of new vehicles coming in this Fall surprisingly, they had 3 Civic Si coupes and an Insight (hard to find).
It's possible to get an MT sedan, you would most likely need to order it and wait one to two months. Most of the sales person just didn't want to put in an effort to do that for some reason during my experience. Also, they seem to order at least one manual a month, some customers do back out of the order too, so if you're flexible on colors and coupe vs. sedan, it's not very hard to find.
If not, just keep checking in on all the dealerships by calling or checking their website, and talk to a salesperson about ordering one.
I also found one 06/07 EX MT sedan at a Minnetonka Mazda and Beurkle Acura if you look through their online inventory. Some import dealership will have one or two new cars of their competition.
Car-18,770.80
mud guards- 119.00
Tax-(3%)-566.69
title,tag fee- 69.00
Doc fee( which I think is just another way to markup) 174.50
Total 19,700. When I asked some of the other dealers about the price they all said it was too good to be true but the car is in my driveway so...... The larger dealers were stuck on MSRP but one said she could drop a WHOPPING $105 from the MSRP price. I thanked her for her time.
What suprised me most is that a small dealer( maybe about 20-25 Honda cars and trucks/suvs on the lot)that gave me the deal. I would have thought larger dealers would do better than they did to earn my business.
How good was the deal? Is this in line with some of the better deals you guys are getting? Oh one more thing, I'm One HAPPY MUTHA!!!!!
Invoice is $18,452 so even with the dealer fee you are within $500 of invoice - and that is a great deal in these days on a Civic.
A lot of the dealers I talked to are like your $105 discount dealer - just a joke with no discount or most with stuff packed on top of MSRP. One in told me "Honda will not allow us to sell these cars at a discount".

2007 Civic EX Auto Sedan: $19,100
How are these prices? I think they're $800 over listed invoice?
I think I'm in the ballpark, but can do better, considering that I've known of people who were able to buy EX sedans (06) for $18,000 6 months ago, and LX Sedans for under $17,000.
Total on road price 18665. Booked in Florida.
Is it good deal?
Should I jump?
Posted this in Accord forum since I am looking at Accord and Civic.
I plan to sell my 2002 Civic, so that I can buy a 2006 Civic. The problem is that I have a crack on my windshield (bottom-right, 1 foot long, cannot be repaired).
Shall I replace it and list at a higher price? Or, leave it and list at a lower price? Assuming the difference in asking prices is the cost to replace the windshield. Which way gets the car sold faster?
Thank you for your suggestions!
I also got a 3 day return period which I might have to use because my wife hasn't even sat in one (Yes she knew I was buying it:-). I've been looking a long time and my 99 Passat has been adding to a list of issues that may approach $1000+ to address so when I found this I told her I might buy this and then trade it for a new Nissan Altima when it comes out. I told her I figured the most I'd lose is around $1000 if I did the deal right and the Passat was going to cost that much to fix anyway so she agreed with my logic... :-) We'll see how tomorrow goes! I also need to drive it a bit more as the dealership was really stingy with the Si test drive (no highway so I couldn't gauge the road noise - and there is some).
If the car is a good one I plan to let my daughter drive it in 4 years when she gets her license. So if I start taking grief about my new RED Toy I'll just tell em I'm borrowing my daughters car! :-)
Price breakdown
$20,700 (about $1500 over new invoice)
$9 title transfer
$80 license registration
$1866 WA state tax
6.50 misc fees
1037.50 extended B2B warranty
$35 doc fee
$23,734 Out the door
So how'd I do? Should I keep the extended warranty? My Passat has made me keenly aware of the high cost of repairs...
IF you paid full MSRP for a brand new one with zero miles, it would have cost you $985 more. In addition, you can get the 7/100k mile warranty with $0 deductible (you did get $0 deductible, right?) online for $825 (http://www.jayhondacare.com/Civic.htm).
SO, you paid $212 more on the warranty and saved $985 on the car, for a net savings of $773. Is it worth $773 to you to give up nearly 1200 miles that were driven in god-only-knows what manner? If so, then you did fine.

From Bernardi online HondaCare you can get an 8yr/120k/$0 warranty for $876, 8yr/100k/$0 is $776, 7/120k/$0 is $796, and 7yr/100k/$0 is $696.
So take it back and unwind the whole deal. Go take a nice test drive to be sure it is for you, then if so find and buy a new one. Who knows, you may be able to get something off of MSRP. Then get the HondaCare online for cheap.

I've been "looking" for a long time (visiting the lot frequently but only going on one or two test drives of Accord coupes about a year ago). So I think they just thought I wanted to rod a Civic around when I asked to test drive it. I had been hitting the lot about once a month since spring and was asking about Si's (Never ever saw one - until about 2 weeks ago when the dealership got the 2 it has now). In fact I'd been watching their website when the Red one (possibly mine) showed up about month or 2 back. When I went in on the weekend they said it was sold during prep. This still fits with the story I got while I was purchasing it (i.e., the salesman that sold said the lady bought it while it was still in the back lot). As it turns out the "lady" may be a co-worker last week I spotted a red Si in the lot and haven't seen it since and today I noticed a new CRV parked near where the Si had been. I'm leaving a note tomorrow just to see.
At $20,885 it appears you bought a new 06? That is what Edmunds shows as the MSRP price for an 06 (that is a good deal in this part of the country) if your getting an 07 then you got a really really good deal. In this part of the country that is a good deal because the two new Si's on the local lot both have $3000 adjusted market values on them and the next closest dealer 70 miles away had $6000 ADM on their Si (again the only one I've seen in months of periodic stops at that dealership). I almost bought an Accord coupe last winter from a dealer in Oregon who was GREAT to work with. I had the cost down about $750 to a $1000 under invoice (dealer cash was being offered) but I just wasn't drawn to the car. I decided to give him a try on the Si and he was the only dealer within 200 miles that was offering Si's under MSRP ($1500 over invoice). I tried Costco and there were no dealers with Si's in the program on this side of the state... so right now around here Si's are relatively rare and going for MSRP or worse.
So I figure I paid a little less than MSRP and got an extended warranty at no cost. Now I probably made a mistake on extending the B2B through the dealer (I usually avoid extended warranties) but I called my local credit union today (my buddy's wife runs the warranty sales dept. and she thought my price was very good especially since its with Honda.) After seeing those other posts in response to mine I went on-line and my cost was just about even with 3 different vendors... so I still don't think I got screwed but only time will tell.
I'm certain these guys were lying through their teeth about the previous owners because they probably don't want to ever sell me another car again. I mean I've only bought two cars through them since 2000 oh... and my cousin works for the dealership.
I took the wife and daughter for a ride tonight Thankfully they both love the car! It's all good!
And how does he do that? Simply go in and ask for his money back because he paid too much? Last I knew an auto purchase was non-refundable, at least in my state anyway.
An unrelated question.. do 07 Si's come with Traction Control? or is it just the Sedans? If they do, that would squeeze the 06's price down even further.
