Michaell - Thank you for explaining.
Here is what BMW is currently offering for a 2014 328i. Is this a good deal?
MSRP: $48,269.00
Selling Price: $42,993.00
Residual: 61%
MF: .00130
36 month 10k/yr
$0 down other than first payment
Payment: $552/month
Thanks!!
Adding in $725 for the acquisition fee, I get $492/mo. Of course, there would be title/registration and sales tax.. I don't know where you live or what those variables are, but it looks like a decent deal.. There is a $1500 incentive, so your price before incentive is around $44,500.. A good 7% off MSRP, then minute the incentive... seems like a good price.
I'd be inclined to wait until tomorrow, though.. I get the feeling that incentives might go up..
I see incentives have improved for July: $2000 for 328i and $1750 for 335i. Do residuals / money factor stay the same? The advertised payments only went down by $10 so I assume they are unchanged.
Edit: I forgot to look at the fine print. It looks like residual and MF are the same as last month.
I Ordered my 328 in June when BMW offered a $1500 credit. It will be delivered in September from South Africa. BMW is offering $2000 "build out cash" for July. will I be eligible for that incentive or am I subject to the programs BMW will be running when mine arrives? From my understanding I've locked in July's programs however if they get better I'm eligible. Hope my question isn't too confusing. Thanks.
With new factors for July 328ixdrive sedan
MSRP:48275
Premium, CW, DA, Nav, and Xenon
Cap Cost: 42145 inc 2000 support
36 mos 12 K
Fees, 1st, MV down
$451 month
New residual is 63% I believe
How does this sound?

The 328i residual is up 2%, as well... 335i residual is the same.

If you ordered last month, didn't you lock-in June's program, not July? I think there are special lock-in terms for cars from SA, but I'm not sure how long... Usually, the dealer will let you use the terms that are most favorable (now, or then), but they aren't required to. Keep in mind, you have to use the whole program. You can't use build out cash from one month, and the residuals/money factors from another. It's all or nothing.

I get $420/mo. Maybe, the other $31/mo. is tax? If so, looks like a great deal.

You;re right, I meant I locked in Junes programs. So I wouldn't be able to ask for July's programs instead? The program I get is either from the month I agree to terms or the month the vehicle arrives, whichever's more favorable?
Hi, can you please advise as to the new residual, MF, and "option incentives" for July on a 328i RWD? Are the numbers different for a 328i xdrive, and if so, what are they? Also, I thought I noticed on the "Build Your Own" link on the BMW Website that the Transportation charge went up $25 - not a big deal, but did anybody else notice?

I've always understood it to be that way - you'll get whichever program is more favorable to you. However, the numbers from BMW haven't changed very much over the last several months, so I'm not sure there will be a big difference from June to July either.
Locked in 63% and 0.00130 on a 328i GT for 36/12k, last month. Picking up this Friday. Are there any changes this month?
Also, about how long does the whole process take from arriving at the dealership to actually driving off? I ask because I will be going with a group and I don't want them to be waiting around an unreasonable amount of time.

That's correct... It's possible that your dealer might let you re-lock with July's numbers, but that means you can never go back to June... and, that might be your final lock, giving up the opportunity for better numbers in the future. (which would be up to the dealer)

It's just a label... but, it's an incentive you can use to lower the selling price of the vehicle.
36 months (I believe that's the sweet spot?) and if you have 10k and 15k that would to be great.
Working the numbers backwards from BMWs online lease offers, it looks like the residual is 63% for the wagon and 64% for the sedan ( diesels 36 month 10k miles), is that correct? How much does it drop to with 15k miles?
@hx_guy said:

Is the MF still 0.0013?
Thanks again.
Subtract 3% from the residual to go from 10K to 15K. And yes, your residual estimates are spot on with the numbers we have for July.
One more thing if you don't mind...do you know which of BMWs car's has the highest residual right now and best money factor? Looks like the 228i Coupe is at 66% which is pretty dang good and advertised monthly of $309 so the MF must be pretty good too (33 month lease).

Just about every BMW has a money factor of .00130.
The best residuals are probably various 3-series configurations.. about half of which have 64% residuals for 36mo, 10K/yr.. 4-series convertibles are 66% for 36mo, 10K/yr.
Turns out the car I wanted sold the night before. It also turned out the two BMW dealerships in Oklahoma were not owned by the same company. So when I called the OKC one and they had something similar to what I was looking for in stock, the sales manager in Tulsa (who was extremely polite and helpful) said he'd make me a killer deal not to leave.
I ended up getting an M Sport with more options than I was looking for, MSRP $62,919, for $54,409 +$925 acquisition. Being way over on my miles, I had 4000 of negative equity to put into the lease. I also signed up for $1,000 of credit for test driving on Saturday the 28th. And I financed $1880 TTL. They never told me the final MF, but using my $751.32 payment and working backward, I came up with approximately .00102. This is a 15k lease.
If it weren't for the 4000 of negative equity, the payment, if I'm figuring it correctly, would have been $640.55. $8510 discount + $1000 test drive discount = $9510 off, which feels like a pretty good deal. Thoughts?

.00130 MF and 61% for a new unit. Is it used, or just a demo/loaner? If it really is used, then it probably won't qualify for that program.. If it's demo, subtract about $1500 from the new unit residual.
