Thanks for the response. I'm test driving a 335i xdrive tomorrow and am thinking of making the following offer for a lease in MA. Can you let me know if this seems like a stretch, or alternatively, if you think I'm being too conservative and should offer up something more aggressive:
Model: BMW 335i xdrive Luxury Line with cold weather, driver assistance, premium and technology packages, plus Harman Kardon sound system and BMW Apps adapters
MSRP: $56,680
Invoice: $52,000 (I might be off by $200 +/- here)
Term: 36 months
Mileage: 15,000
Residual: 60%
MF: 0.0008 (Base MF of 0.0013 reduced down by MSD)
Target Net Cap Cost after all incentives (including $1,750 build out cash) and net of $800 acquisition fee: $49,680
Due at signing: First month + registration/doc fees (zero down aside from that)
Pre-tax monthly payment: $509
Also looking at the 328i xdrive with the exact same features and options as described above, and same lease term/mileage.
On that one, MSRP is $52,180, invoice is about $48,000 and I'm assuming a 36 month residual with 15K miles of 61%. I would target the same money factor and up-front payment due at signing as described above for the 335i.
Based on the above, I'd be targeting a net cap cost after all incentives and acquisition fee of $44,900. This would get me to a pre-tax monthly payment of $432.
I'd like feedback on the following proposal I am going to make to a dealer:
328i xDrive, Premium, Nav, Lighting, and Driver assistance
MSRP: $48,300
Invoice: $45,025 (6.78% reduction)
Term: 36 Months
Mileage: 15,000/yr
Residual: 61% ($29,463)
MF: 0.0013
Net Cap cost: $41,025 ($2,000 build out, new college grad $1,000, un4gettable drive $1,000)
Due at signing: First month payment, license ($74), title ($15), doc fee ($250), and disposition fee ($350).
Monthly payment: $440.67

Can I get the residual and MF on a 328i xDrive, 36month, 15k mile lease?
MSPR $48,300
Sale price $43,910 including
$1k new grad incentive
$1k BMW Un4gettable drive
$2k buildout
Estimated payment of $559/month
Capping 6.75% tax, title, and license. Good?
Actually a really crappy deal! All of the incentives are provided by BMW NA, so they don't cost the dealer a dime.....therefore, they really are only discounting the car less than $400 dollars. Best way to approach this deal, figure out invoice, use Edmunds here, offer at most $1000 over invoice, then subtract the incentives of 4000. Make sure they are giving you the base money factor, lease acquisition is $725. If they wont cooperate try other dealers, always best to contact the internet dept and email offers

Yes, this would be an excellent deal, only mistake I see...they don't charge you the $350 disposition fee upfront. Always be ready to walk away, if you can't get close to what you want. If you do close, they will try to upsell you all kinds of insurance and warranty products. Don't buy any of them. Go to Discount tire and buy a tire warranty from them for about $25 per tire. Good Luck
Can someone walk me through the current incentive being offered by BMW NA on the 2014 3 Series. As far as I'm aware, there is currently $1750 of buildout cash and $1000 (if you do the un4gettable drive). As I'm not a new grad I don't qualify for that $1000 incentive. Are there others I'm missing? Looking at the posts it seems like there are some others out there but I have no clue what they are.

You can use the shopping tools at the top of the page to determine the current incentives.
It doesn't feel like the best deal but this is my first try at a BMW so I'm not sure.
MF is marked up - should be .00081 after 7 MSDs.
How much of the $6600 is going to cap cost reduction? We recommend not making any sort of down payment on a lease - you are out the money if the car is stole or totaled.

Nothing, just the MSDs, tax, title and fees. I live in PA.
Should the build out cash get applied after discounting? Meaning should I be able to get the dealer to give me invoice pricing plus the additional build out cash of $1,750 on top of that?
It doesn't feel like the best deal but this is my first try at a BMW so I'm not sure.
I would say this is NOT a good deal based on being a 2014 model. As stated by other poster, the dealer has jacked up the money factor, probably costing you close to $40 per month in payments. The big issue I see is the selling price, assuming invoice is about 54k, you are not getting a good enough price with the $1750 build out credit. Personally, I would try for $1250 under invoice, base money factor, which is still a minimum $500 profit for the dealer. Also, the base acquisition fee should be $725, what kind of doc fee are they charging?? I have no idea if the doc fee is capped in your state, but in some states I have seen $800 doc fee, which is pure profit for the dealer. You should renegotiate your deal, ask for a complete itemization of all fees.
I've looked online and it appears that the un4gettable incentive isn't available until August 1. Is anyone else seeing the same thing? Dealer also told me it wasn't available until August 1 as well, so that changes the pricing I'm looking to get.

OK - here's my numbers. 3 year, 10k per year lease. 328Xdrive, MSRP 50,425, negotiated purchase price of 43,990 (includes $2k build out credit and all dealer fees except taxes, and MV), residual value is 32,272 and MF of .0013. Dealer is in NJ, I live in NY (tax rate is .08875). I'm only paying the 1st months payment and MV fees out of pocket. I ran the numbers and I come up with the following - $326 Depreciation, $99 Rent, and $38 tax. I'm not sure I'm calculating the tax correctly but using the above I come up with a total of $462 per month. The dealer came back with $507 per month. What am I missing. I think its a great price on the car but the payment just looks wrong.

I get within a couple of dollars per month of your calculations.. (taxes are calculated on the total payments, then added to the Cap cost, but that's a minor difference).
I would ask the dealer what their NET Cap cost is, that results in their payment... Add about $1360 for tax on to $43,990, and anything over that ($45,350) is why your payments don't agree.. Acquisition fee, maybe? You are about $1450 apart... Tax on the $2000 build-out cash? (if it's treated as a CAP reduction or rebate).
328xi - MSRP $50225 - sale price $47680 - .00150 - 62% or $31641- $925 - $250 doc fee - $95 title fee - $2000 total due at signing - $622 total payment (6.75% tax)
Could someone please help me counter this offer? Seems high.
Thank you for your help. I think the tax on the Cap Cost reduction makes sense for part of the difference and I'll adjust my expectations up by about $16 per month to $479. Now to find out how they played with their numbers today .. wish me luck.

The MF is marked up from the base of .00130 and the $925 acquisition fee is also marked up from the base of $725.
Using your numbers, I get a pre-tax payment of $577.69 and an after tax payment of $616.68. Lowering the MF to .00130 reduces those numbers to $561.92 and $599.85.
Thanks for the info! Do you happen to know if new 2013 models can still be leased and what the residuals and MF might be on them? I am considering a 2013 AH3 and 2013 AH5. If you have the residuals/MF for those that would be great as well... TIA

The current data we have from BMW does not include any lease numbers for 2013 MY.
Seems there are many on this forum leasing 328's in the mid 400 / low 500 range? I can't seem to get a dealer under high 500 / low 600 range? Granted I'm looking at Luxury & Sport line packages with 50k MSRP's, but seems others are too? Do we anticipate August incentives to better than current?

No idea what the August numbers will look like, but I would guess that they won't be much different that current (.00130 MF).
If you can provide the negotiated cap cost along with the MSRP, we can help model a payment.
Oh, one other thing - what state is this? Illinois, Texas and Georgia have silly tax laws that force you to pay sales tax on the entire transaction price, not just the monthly payment. This dramatically increases the monthly payment on a lease.
@schmidthb said:
This is in OH. Negotiated cap cost meaning are they treating incentives as rebate or cap cost reduction?
Same thing. Negotiate your best selling price, then subtract the incentives from that number to get the gross cap cost. Add in any up-front taxes and fees to get the net cap cost.
So once again I realize that the devil is in the details:
I previously inquired about my lease based on the assumption that I got a MF of .00130, but it turns out that it was actually .00170.
Still kicking myself for not running the numbers before I signed the deal.
I'd like to find out your thoughts are on the deal:
2014 328i, grey metallic, premium package and navi
36 mths/10k
MSRP: 44,050
Sales price: 37,700
$2000 down which includes fees, first month payment, and cap cost reduction
Adjusted cap cost: 37590.10
Residual 63%=27751.50
Depreciation: 9838.60
Rent charges (MF .00170): 3998.72
Base monthly payment: 384.37
9% sales tax: 34.59

Due at signing: First month + registration/doc fees (zero down aside from that)
Pre-tax monthly payment: $509
Also looking at the 328i xdrive with the exact same features and options as described above, and same lease term/mileage.
On that one, MSRP is $52,180, invoice is about $48,000 and I'm assuming a 36 month residual with 15K miles of 61%. I would target the same money factor and up-front payment due at signing as described above for the 335i.

Total monthly: 418.96
I thought I negotiated a good sales price.
Would you still consider this a good deal?
Still looks to be a solid deal. Without the MF bump, they probably wouldn't have cut the selling price by as much..
