Is it possible that they are prohibited by your state's credit laws? I bought a BMW in New York state where they don't allow MSDs because of state laws that impact how much a security deposit can be. Previous purchases in Mass. did allow MSDs.

Thanks so much! Just to confirm - if I go with the Audi Care package, that should bump the residual up by 1%, correct? Would you happen to know if I have to roll that cost into the monthly payment, or if I can just pay for the Audi Care outright and still get the 1% benefit?

Yes, AudiCare increases the residual by 1% - I don't think it matters if you pre-pay it or roll it into the cap cost.

I'm looking to lease Audi Q5 Premium plus 2.0 TFSI® for 36 months in San Fransico Bay area. Can someone give me the MF & Residuals for 36 months with 10k per year? Im offered Residual of 0.56 and MF of 2.18 does this sound right?
Monthly lease is around $520 with $5000 at signing. I'm getting a good deal?

.00126 is the MF (equivalent to 3.024%) and the residual is 56%.
Cannot comment on the deal you've been offered without knowing both the selling price and MSRP. How much of the $5000 due at signing is for cap cost reduction? It's not a good idea to do that - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.
Would you have the May rates for the SQ5 for a 36mo/12k and 15k/year lease? Any programs for different monthly terms that would be more favorable? Thanks!

.00136 MF and 54% residual for 36mo/15K for Premium Plus model.
Add 2% for 12K/yr. Subtract 4% for Prestige model.
42 month residuals are 4% lower, but money factor is .00156
Thanks. I had no idea there was that much of a difference in residual between Premium Plus & Prestige... No wonder everyone seems to lean toward the Premium Plus.
Anyway, is it true that Audi Care affects the lease payment? If so, can you explain how? Residual increase, cap cost reduction, etc..? Is this a good idea?
Also, I'm leasing the car for my business so I really don't want to put any $$ down if possible. Any suggestions on this? (have good credit score - mid to high 700s so I'm assuming this would not be a problem) .
What exactly can I roll into the lease payment? Taxes, acquisition fees, etc... and is this a good idea?
I'm leaning toward a Premium Plus, 36 mos, 15k. MMI Nav, Sport Interior, B&O Sound, Standard Paint, Milano Leather... so the sticker should be around $52k... and hoping for a purchase price of around $49k. Payment around $725? Am I close?

Yeah, the Prestige trim levels have much lower residuals, regardless of model.

If you purchase AudiCare, the residual value increases by 1%. Pays for itself over the lease term.

It depends on the state you live in .. you may be able to roll most fees and taxes into the cap cost. For Audi, if you want to roll in the acquisition fee, it will increase the MF by .00005.

Using $52K as the MSRP and $49K as the selling price for a Q5 2.0T Premium Plus, I get a pre-tax payment of $692.02 for a 36 month, 15K lease.

Hmm, my numbers aren't matching yours. If I use $42,500 as the MSRP and $36,670 as the cap cost ($39,950 - $3280 cap reduction) with the base MF of .00126 and residual of 56%, I get a pre-tax payment of $433.69. Without the cap cost reduction, the pre-tax payment goes to $528.94 - which makes sense, as $3280/36 = $91/mo.
It's possible I'm missing some taxes and/or fees that are going into the cap cost .. ask the dealer to break everything down for you.
Is this a good deal? How can I reduce the Cap reduction?
I am looking for 2.0 premium plus with navi, side assist. I got a quote - MSRP 47900, and 7% discount off MSRP. However, the lease term is terrible. 10k/year, 36 month, 56% res with 0.00185 MF. I am wondering how other folks here managed to get 0.00126 MF? I have A+ credit score. If I buy with a car loan, the APR is 2.24%.
Having that said, it seems a better choice to buy than lease.

Residual is indeed 56% and, as for the MF, you tell the dealer you won't accept one that is marked up. .00126 is the base MF.
7% off MSRP is a pretty good price. I can get a supplier discount on Audi, and that's only 6% off MSRP.
I'm just starting out looking at a 15K/yr Q5 lease and have the dealer offering a 2014 Premium 2.0 at $39K, about 4% off MSRP. MF of .00175 and 53% residual with payments of $700/month for 36 months. Does this seem reasonable?

$700/mo. lease payment for a $40K car seems pretty expensive, to me. The Q5 has never been cheap to lease, but that's not a very good deal.
Base MF of .00126 on this model, and 53% residual. You should be shooting for closer to 6% off MSRP, and the base rate.. Just those two diffferences would knock about $50/mo. or more off the price.
If you borrowed $40K at 2.9% for 60 months (the rate Audi is offering on purchase), the payment would only be $717/mo.

They won't lower the MF, so I ended up buying it with a car loan from another bank - 2.29% APR. 7% off MSRP is what I got with some other discount on Audi Care. Hope the car is not a lemon so that I can keep it long.

.00126 MF and 53% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr. 55% for 12K/yr.
The current program is scheduled to run through July 1st, though they may update it, before then. I don't see any incentives, but you can check by using the "Car Research" tab at the top of the page.
I was just offered the following lease deal in Florida, but it just doesn't look right.
2014 Audi Q5 3.0 Premium Plus.
Phantom Black Pearl Effect + $500
MMI Navigation + $3500
Sport Interior + $500
Bang Olufsen + $850
Side Assist + $500
I took the following #s directly from a screen shot on his computer screen...
Total sticker price was $52,370
discount $2,370
Selling price: $50,000
Options: $860 (Audi Care)
Sub-Total: $50,860
Fees: $1,051.90 (I don't recall what exactly these fees were... could be dealer fees, acquisition, etc...)
Sales Tax: $3,137.59 ( He said this was the up front taxes, but sales tax would also be charged within the monthly payment)
Net Sales Price: $55,049.49
Term: 36 Months / 12K
The payment was $856.25
He insisted the money factor was .00178 (But I was told this should be .00128)
I'm leasing it for my business so I told him I didn't want any cap cost reduction. So, this payment should include the minimum down (tax, title, etc...) which I believe was around $1800.
I'm also a little unclear as to what residual value he was using.

Base MF is indeed .00128, so the dealer is marking that up on you. Residual is 57% for 36/12 when you add the 1% for AudiCare.
Using your MSRP and net selling price with the base MF and residual, I calculate a pre-tax payment of $808.63. The inflated MF raises the payment by over $40/mo.
There is an acquisition fee charged by Audi of $695, and there are dreaded dealer fees in Florida that I've seen as high as $699 - you should be able to negate the dealer fee by negotiating a strong selling price.
What I don't get are the $3K in taxes. Florida only taxes the payment, so you shouldn't have to pay twice. I'd ask for a breakdown of what that entails.
There might be some wiggle room in the selling price - 6% is over three grand off the MSRP.
Yeah... the tax is wrong... The only upfront tax should be if you paid acquistion fee and dealer/doc fee, or a cap cost reduction upfront.... and then, the tax is only on those items.
@Michaell said:

That is what I suspected... He was playing dumb making it sound like my lease calculator was wrong and that .00178 was the only option.
Actually, every aspect of the deal was shady... We were looking to buy 2 cars (lease the Q5 for me and buy a 2014 A4 for my fiancee (Premium car with Nav), which stickered for around $39k. He was only offering around $1500 off the A4 plus a $1k rebate from Audi for owning my Mercedes. He then only offered $1k off the Q5 and was undervaluing my SL550 I was going to trade in by $2k off wholesale.
Needless to say I won't be going back...
That being said, can you calculate what the lease payment SHOULD be based on the following...
36 months / 15k
2014 Audi Q5 3.0 Premium Plus. Phantom Black Pearl Effect + $500 MMI Navigation + $3500 Sport Interior + $500 Bang Olufsen + $850 Side Assist + $500
Sticker price of $52,370
Sales price of $49,500 (this would be around a 5% discount $2,870)
Add Audi Care at $860 (roll into payment?)
Audi Acquisition fee of $695 (pay out of pocket)
I would figure a Dealer fee of around $400 (roll into payment?)
I'm leasing it for my business so no cap cost reduction.
I'll pay the acquisition fee and the minimum out of pocket up front..? Tag, Title, First payment, etc... (what would this include?) around $1800 total?

Thanks. It didn't sound right to me and I appreciate your help.
They won't lower the MF, so I ended up buying it with a car loan from another bank - 2.29% APR. 7% off MSRP is what I got with some other discount on Audi Care. Hope the car is not a lemon so that I can keep it long.
Good luck! On the plus side, the Q5 really holds it value, so if you need to dump it before the warranty is up, you should come out pretty well.

What is the current mf and residual on a 2.0 premium plus with nav, side assist, in Michigan? Looking for both 12k and 15k mileage. When do the rates change and are there any current incentives to try to get something closed this month? Thanks.
Forgot to add, 36 mo lease.
.00126 MF and 53% residual for 36mo, 15K/yr.

Can you please confirm some of this.
Thanks!

Lease payment of $750 ish?
I just noticed the bottom of the aforemention screenshot (attached here but partially cut off) it describes the "fees" and "taxes".
Total "fees" were listed as $1,051.90
The "taxes" were listed as $3,137.59
Fees include:
$1.50 battery fee
$578.40 Doc Fee
$15.00 electronic filing fee
$450 License
(and the rest is cut off)
Taxes include:
County Discretionary Surtax 1.000% ??
Finance Tax 6.000% ??
Service Tax 6.000% ??
(and the rest is cut off).
Have you ever seen anything like this?
What state is this?
