2015 SQ5 Premium Plus, 36mo, 15K/yr: .00143 MF and 58% residual. Subtract 4% from residual for Prestige model.

Went to Audi yesterday. Quoted mid $600's/ month 42 month lease for 2.0 premium plus with $0 down, just taxes and fees.

They did not fill me in on what MSRP and MF they based this on and only said the RV was 54%

I thought I would be around $625 zero down for 32 months so there offer is not appealing to me.

I'm interested in buying the car when the lease is done so MSRP an RV are important to me as I want to see what I'll be buying the car for 3 years from now

Anyone suggest how I can negotiate a better deal?

Use the shopping tools at the top of the page to configure and price out the vehicle you are interested in. This should give you a sense of what you should be paying.

Generally, you should be able to negotiate about 5-7% off MSRP.

Audi's program is nationwide. Ask the dealer if he is marking up the money factor from the base rate. If he isn't honest, look for another dealer.

That isn't atypical. Most dealers mark up the base money factor, but most are honest about it, when asked.

.00123 is the MF and the RV is 55%. You should be able to get 5-7% off MSRP.

No, I think Audi doesn't inflate their residuals like their competitors do. Gives them a more realistic number at the end of the lease.

Is the 58% RV correct?

.00152 MF and 58% residual. With base MF, I get $520/mo. Yes, $139.76 finance charge would equal around .0020. You should ask them the exact net cap and money factor.

Question: hard to find much on the topic online, but thoughts on the pre-paid maintenance plan (priced at ~65/month) or the excessive wear and tear ($55/month)? They said the wear and tear covers tires, though my lease is only 7500 miles/year for 3 years. I do live in the city (SF) and the roads are generally in poor condition.

Seems excessive but curious what people think of it?

AudiCare adds 1% to the residual and we generally recommend it, though $65/mo seems a bit steep.

Wear and tear is another story - good deal ... for the dealer. Not so much for you.

THE MSRP for AudiCare on the Q5 is only $860. AudiCare PLUS is only $1190. Given the 1% residual bump for purchasing these plans, the maximum increase should only be $15-$30 per month (depending on which plan). They are really trying to soak you on this. Take AudiCare if they will agree to $15/mo. It's cheap maintenance at that price. I wouldn't consider the LEWP, unless it was priced similarly, and I'm not even sure I would take it then... I mean, you know you will use the maintenance...

Great -- thank you both so much. What they are offering me doesn't sound like Audi Care ... they're calling it Audi Pure Protection (Term Care Select) ... it's not the same Audi Care brochure on the Audi website.

I'm going to pass on those and insist upon the Audi Care option that's clearly listed at $860 as you mention.

.00143 MF and 58% residual for 36 months
.00163 MF and 56% residual for 39 months
.00163 MF and 54% residual for 42 months.

39 months is sort of a wash... 42 months would be cheaper... For the small difference, I'd stick with 36 months.
