    .00130 and 58% residual for 36mo/15K.

My co-host knows more about the particulars of the BMW program for higher mileage leases - I can't find anything in the docs we have.

$1500 option credit and $1000 Eco credit also available

For a mileage allowance above 15K/yr, you have to pay per mile, upfront. Last time I checked, it was $0.15/mi., or $1350 over the three year lease. You can pay overage of $0.20/mi. at lease end, instead..... or, BMW allows you to buy extra miles up until 6 months from lease end for $0.16/mi.

I like the last option, as you can be more accurate with the mileage needed, and not waste any money.

This is a cureent ad campaign for 535i GT, can I negotiate the down payment using the 1,500 credit? Is this negotiable? Or for any of their published ad campaigns.

Any advertised national lease special is just an OK deal; check the fine print for the down payment.

You should be able to negotiate a lower selling price before factoring in the $1500 credit - this will lower your payment.

Hi..I wonder if this is a good lease deal... 2014 535d Xdrive MSRP 64075. $599/month $4700 due at signing, and 15K miles/year. I'm very close to pulling th trigger and wonder if i can squeeze a little more.

    What is the selling price?

It's not a good idea to put money down on a lease - if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.

Thank you Michaell- the down payment was crazy-I was able to find a "dealer" "used/new" car-no owner. It has 12,400 miles, 535i, loaded with almost every option, Luxury seating, Nav, Lux lights, premium package, driver assist, turbo etc. They will let me lease it since it has not had an owner. 2014, $2,100 down, 52,000K, lease 36mos/12Kmiles, 553.00 per month(includes tax)--is this a good deal? Maitenance included for 3 years, full warranty. Tires look good but it is a concern of mine.

Hard to believe a car with over 12K has never been titled. There should be some compensation for the miles factored into the lease, but I've no idea how that would work.

I agree- I have leased 15 cars in my life, this one stumped me!!! I am going to ask for new tires, they are even using the 61% residual and .0031 MF.

I know when I leased cars with miles (demos), there was a residual hit.

You know... I should know this, as I leased a demo just a few years ago. They did reduce the residual to account for the current mileage. Thanks for jogging my memory.

Can you share MF and residual for a 2014 Active Hybrid 5 series 36/15?

also I see an option credit and an eco-credit... any other incentives?

.00130 MF and 54% residual. $1500 option credit and $5500 eco credit.

There are pull-ahead programs for current lessees, but that's about it for incentives.

Just leased a 2014 550Xi. I was leasing a 2012 535xi and received lots of mail from BMW promoting the "pull ahead" early lease termination so I turned in the 535Xi six months early.

Here's the lease deal I negotiated on the 550Xi:

    MSRP: $77,325
Negotiated Price: $71,745 (including any incentives)
    Acquisition Fee: $825
    Dealer & Handling: $299
    Total Capitalized Cost: $72,869
    Capital Cost Reduction: $1000 (+)
    Final Capitalized Cost: $71,869
    Term: 36 Mos
    Miles: 10K
    Residual: 62%
    Money Factor: 00.170 (++)
    Multiple Security Deposits (7) $6300
    Reduced Money Factor: .00121
    Payment B4 Sales Tax: $809.62

    Notes:

+If you're a member of the BMW Car Club of America, they will send you a check for $1000 if you buy or lease a new 5 series. I use this payment as a capital cost reduction to help lower the payments.

++I know that money factor "buy rate" for BMW leases is .00130, but all of the local dealers mark that up to .00170 and I was unable to get them to budge on this. I took advantage of the Multiple Security Deposit (MSD) program. You can deposit up 7 security deposits, roughly = to 1 months payment (in this case 7 X 9 = $6300) and receive a MF reduction of .00007 per deposit or a total of .00049 for 7 deposits. This reduces the MF from .00170 to .00121. The MSD program is a good deal as you earn the equivalent of about 12% interest in terms of payment reduction. I've used it on the last 2 leases with no problem.

    Other:

Now that I've driven it, for several days, this vehicle is far more impressive than the 535Xi, both in terms of refinement and performance. With 443 HP and 479 lb-ft of torque, this sedan is full-on, muscle car quick. BMW states 0-60 acceleration times of 4.3 seconds, which is comparable to Mustang GT, Dodge Challenger SRT, Camaro SS, etc. Even the might M5 is only 2/10ths of second quicker to 60.

I don't know what area of the country you are in....but, I would of gone out of your "local area" and found a deal where the money factor wouldn't be marked up....personally, I would never agree to a marked up interest rate, but to each their own.

    Just custom ordered

2014 bmw 535d x drive with metallic paint, premium package, luxury seating, driver assitance, cold weather, hk stereo, around view camera

    msrp 68650
    mf: 0.0013
    residual 60%
negotiated price (unknown at point but around 59.5 k)

also mentioned that if incentives better next month we get those additional as well as money factors

monthly payment was 695 a month with (795 lease fee, 280 doc fee, and 1st month payment due at signing)

I went first to my bmw and lexus dealer who we bought multiple cars from but they were around 3500 higher in buyout price and unwilling to sway

I'm considering leasing a 2014 535d with the following options:

    • M Sport Line
    • Premium Package
    • Heated Front Seats
    • Park Distance Control
    • Rear View Camera
    • 8-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission

I've been offered the following terms for a 36-month lease with 10K miles / year:

    • MSRP: $64,875
    • Dealer Price (Cap Cost): $57,765
    • Money Factor: 0.00081 (after MSD discount)
    • Residual Value: 61%
    • Monthly Lease Payment (including 9% sales tax): $636.73
    • Total Drive-Off Cost: $6,006 (includes $4,550 security deposit, $80 doc fee, $725 acquisition fee, first month's lease payment & license / registration)

Is this a good deal? If not, what else should I attempt to negotiate?

The calculations are right on the money. There really isn't anything to negotiate but the purchase price. Considering the $2500 in incentives on this model, the effective selling price is $60,265. That's a little over 7% off MSRP, so that puts it right around invoice, I'd think (you can calculate invoice by building your car, using the tabs at the top of the page, to get an accurate number).

You could ask for more... but, I'm not sure there is anything left.. Certainly, not any substantial savings to be had.. Seems like a pretty good deal.

MSDs are a great move.. Your $4550 is saving you $52/mo., for an after tax return of 13.7%. That's a little better than .01% in a money market fund... :)

Thanks for the prompt reply. The dealer invoice for this vehicle is $59,705. So, after the $2,500 incentive, the effective dealer invoice drops to $27,205. That means the price the dealer offered ($57,765) is $560 over the effective dealer invoice. Is that reasonable?

Also, the dealer needs to acquire the car from another dealership located in another part of my state, and they want to charge me $500 to have it shipped to my local dealership. Is this reasonable / customary? Thanks.

Yeah... $560 over effective invoice is cutting it to the bone... Unless they are getting the car from across town, $500 is fairly reasonable..

I have a first offer from a dealership on a 528xi and want to see if there is a lot of room to move. MSPR 57,975. My cap cost is 53,400 (includes 1500 incentive) w/.00130 MF. I'm looking at a 3 yr, 36K lease and have been given a monthly payment of $655. Can they do lower? I can take $50 a month off if I do MSDs, but am a little wary of giving them $4K to do so. Other than investing the money myself, is there downside to MSDs?

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,221

That's the base money factor, so that's good. At those numbers, I get $616/mo., but of course we haven't discussed acquisition fees, money due at signing or taxes. Adding the $1500 incentive back in, that's 5.3% off MSRP.. The better deals we've seen are closer to 7% off, before subtracting the incentive..

There is always a first time, I guess... but, in years of discussing MSDs, I've yet to hear of a negative consequence. I've done it before with BMWFS, and Infiniti Finance currently has $4050 of my money.. so, I'm a believer. $50/mo return on $4K is 15% APR, after-tax.. Not too bad..

thanks kyfdx@Edmunds. I always do no money down, but I assume there are some other costs at signing such as as acquisition fees. Taxes in MA, I believe, are 5.5%. So I have my math correct, you are saying a car with a MSRP of $57,975 can be sold @ 7% off of MSRP ($53,917) and then take $1,500 off from there to get me to $52,417?

  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 235,221

Yes.... that doesn't mean you can get that price from that dealer, but that would be my goal.

I can tell you we don't have any lease information for the 2015 5-series just yet ... don't know when they will be available to order. You can call a dealer and ask them, though they might try to make you a stellar deal on a 2014 just to get you to 'come on down'.

I tried the various lease calculators but I cannot get this monthly payment $636.73. Instead, I got $764. Can anybody help to verify?

I'm considering leasing a 2014 535d with the following options:

    • M Sport Line
    • Premium Package
    • Heated Front Seats
    • Park Distance Control
    • Rear View Camera
    • 8-Speed Sport Automatic Transmission

I've been offered the following terms for a 36-month lease with 10K miles / year:

    • MSRP: $64,875
    • Dealer Price (Cap Cost): $57,765
    • Money Factor: 0.00081 (after MSD discount)
    • Residual Value: 61%
    • Monthly Lease Payment (including 9% sales tax): $636.73
    • Total Drive-Off Cost: $6,006 (includes $4,550 security deposit, $80 doc fee, $725 acquisition fee, first month's lease payment & license / registration)

Is this a good deal? If not, what else should I attempt to negotiate?

I can't vouch for the lease calculators, but using simple math, I come within a dollar of the $636

What are the money factors and residuals on 535i leases for 10k and 12k leases for June?

This forum's great, makes shopping for a lease so much easier. Also, just a comment but it's interesting when comparing a BMW lease to an Audi just how much higher the BMW residuals are. Can't really even compare prices for an A6 lease.
