.00130 MF and 59% residual. $2500 build out cash.
I'd shoot for 7% off MSRP minus the $2500 incentive.

My apologies for asking again, why would I need to subtract $2500 incentive from 7% discount on MSRP? At the same time, am I correct that build out cash of $2500 that you mentioned is something that dealer can use to reduce my final out of the door price?
The $2500 is from BMW; the discount is from sticker and affects the dealer profit. Yes the $2500 reduces the net cap cost, which will lower your monthly payment.

Would appreciate some help on where I can find BMW's 2014 Invoice price for the 535Xi. Here's the deal I was offered today:
2014 Silver 535Xi with Premium, Cold Weather & Driver Assist packages.
List: 63,140 Selling Price = $55,711 (after rebates: 2500 + 1000)
MF: .0013
Residual: $38521 (61%)
Monthly Payment: $600
Inception Fee: $925
NJ Tax: $1600
Registration Fee: $310
Document Fee: $369
Luxury Tax $225
I personally believe the inception fee and Document fee are rip-offs. What does BMW Financial Services charge to initiate a lease? Also, I should be able to get a better selling price - the dealer is only discounting the car. Would appreciate comments/feedback on the deal. Also, if you're aware of a Northern NJ dealer who discounts aggressively, I'd welcome the information.
Thanks.

MF is .00130 and 24/15 residual is 64%. Residual value is then decreased by the addition of the extra miles at, I believe, .25 per mile ($2500 total).
Using your MSRP and selling price, I calculate a pre-tax payment of $847.36.
hi. can you please help me with a current residual and money factor on a 2014 535i? Im looking for 24 months and 12,000 miles per year. so far i have learned on here that i should try for 7% off PLUS the current incentives (which i think are $2500?!). 725 acquisition fees and i understand the option for MSD exists. i am comparing this car to a MB E350. just need to drive the 535i to decide if i want to leave my current MB. thanks a bunch!

Hi. I would like to ask if I got a good deal on my 2014 528xi. I actually went through one of those "auto leasing companies" for the first time.
2014 528xi
Jet Black Ext
Black SensTec Int
Dark wood trim
Heated Front Seats
Park Distance Control
Rear View Camera
Total MSRP: $54,400
The below initial payment & monthly payments are all-in (after-tax) amounts:
Due at signing (includes 1st month payment): $1,700
Monthly payment: $439
36 months
10k/yr
Would need to know the selling price, but $439/mo for a car that stickers at $54K seems to be a pretty good deal from where I sit.

I get a payment of $521.40 using your numbers. Does the negotiated price include the up front sales tax that NJ collects on its leases?
Have couple questions I am hoping I can get some feedback and input on. From what I see I should be paying 7% below MSRP plus the rebates. That 7% is based on a new car, I was that dealership and saw a bunch of "Demonstrator" or a "Service Loaner" 5 series they had and was told that even though they have miles they were never titled and can be sold as new and qualify as new car purchases with BMWFS (so they get all the rebates and same financing deals). To me it doesn't matter if I am not the first driver since it is a lease and I just want lowest payment.
Does anybody have any insight as to what pricing I should be looking to get for one of these type of cars (I know it is below 7% but how much)?
Second, I was tossed a curve I thought the Residual for 528 and 535d on 15k for 36months was 62%. I was told at the dealership it was 59% for the 528 and 58% for the 535d. Can somebody please provide what the actually numbers are for the following:
528- 15k, 36 mnths
535- 15k, 36 mnths
535d- 15k, 36 mnths
Thanks so much for any help, feedback, thoughts or insight anybody might have and willing to share!
P.S. I was initially talking to them about a new 535d and they quoted my 8% off MSRP as well as the $3500 rebates.
The last time I had experience with a demo, the residual was reduced by $0.30/mi, for every mile over 500. So, a demo with 5500 miles would have the new car residual reduced by $1500. So, to make the demo cheaper, you would need a selling price that is at least $1500 less than the comparable brand new, zero-mile unit.
Hopefully, you can do better than that.. Every $1000 less drops the lease price by around $28-$30/mo... I'd hope for at least double the amount.. so, if the residual is $1500 less, shoot for $3000 less on the purchase price..
Thanks for the feedback, I was told that since they were "Service Loaners" and were never titled the MF and residual don't change. It's just a very limited selection and getting an "unofficial" used car that is viewed and still qualifies as for new car finanancing deals. Will report back if I pull the trigger on one and what the details of the deal are. Thanks again.
I agree.. they are new cars, as far as using the new car program... but, they'll still have to account for a mileage adjustment on the residual. I've leased two service loaners from BMW, although the most recent was in 2011.

I know that you and most mods on the forum are highly against putting money down to reduce the cap cost and I can understand that to an extent. I also know that BMW offers the MSD program so you could reduce the current buy rate MF by .00056. I am curious if you have any information regarding the "Single Lease Payment" program? I have done a little research and it appears that the program is safer and protects your money in case of a total or stolen car, but I am unsure of what the specific savings/reduction to the MF are.
From what I have seen (still a little unclear on) you can combine the Single Payment Lease with the the MSD? The issue is you need to have the capitol/funds to make that single bulk payment.
From what I have seem your payment is essentially placed into a BMWFS account and the withdraw a payment against it each month.
Any information you have regarding this program would greatly be appreciated. As an FYI, I tried looking in other sections in this forum and couldn't find anything and I wasn't sure if this is something that should be its own thread.
@danmgy11 said:

You can't combine the Single Pay lease program and the MSD program. Also, on most 2014 BMW models, there is no additional discount for a Single Pay lease, so no benefit in doing so..
The max MF discount using MSDs is .00049 (7 X .00007)
Just thought I'd let you know there is a single pay lease rate for the 528, I only know it for 36mnths and 15k a year, its .00110. Apparently the benefit is for people with bad credit or less than top tier credit rating, because the buy rate and 7 MSD is still lower and you can't combine the two. So I'm told.
So here is the deal that is on the table for me, it is a service loaners with 6k miles on it. Its for 36 months with 15k miles per year.
528 in Carbon Black Metalic with Prem, M Sport, lighting package, Driver Assistance, Heated seats, Herman Kardon.
MSRP: $61,800
Cap cost: $51,465.31
Out of pocket (including 7 MSD, tags, tax, doc fees) $6,443.88
Monthly payment w/o tax: $518.82
Monthly payment with 6% tax: $549.95
I think its a pretty solid deal, they originally wanted the payment just over $550 but I fought them on that so it would save me $350 for the additional MSD.
What do you think of the deal? Numbers seem to add up to me but wanted to check.
Also, they no longer make any adjustments to residuals for service loaners, you get standard BMWFS rates.
Hi all. Im hoping someone could comment on my offer.
2014 528 xdrive, MSRP $54445, 36 months 10k lease. $1000 out of pocket plus $1000 drive event credit, $445 per month including NJ tax. Selling price $46450. Does that sound fair or did I leave something on the table? Thank you.

Looks fair from here. When I plug in your numbers (using the base MF of .00130 and RV of 62%), I get a payment of $456.88/mo.
Thanks for the reply Michael . I failed to mention that the 1000 includes the registration (approx $300) and the first month. My question is if the offer is fair ? Should I be shooting for a lower selling price ? Thank you again.

@danmgy11 said:
Assuming I can't get them to change it, would you look at what they're offering me a good deal?
Well.. I'm sure the residual had to be adjusted. They can start with the new car residual, but you have to account for the miles. You can't have two cars coming off lease, one with 5000 miles more than the other one, and have the same value for both of them.

Is this a good deal.
My lease details below-
I'm using BMW fleet program discount that lower MF by 0.00020
2014 528xi - Dark Graphite Metallic, Dakota leather, cold weather, premium pkg, rear view camera, park distance.
MSRP $58,000
Sale price - $48,851
Residual Value -61% (36 months,12k/yr)
Monthly payment - $425/month.
Total due at signing - $6,259
This includes
First month payment - $425
Lease acquisition fees - $725
Doc fees - $305
DMV fees - $313
Title Fee - $195
NJ Sales Tax - $1,144
7 MSDs of $3150
Total = $6,259
Yes... it's a great deal. With a money factor of .00061 (.00130 mins .00020 minus .00049), it comes out to $425.57/mo.
Normally, I would say to roll the acquisition fees and tax into the lease, but then you'd have to come up with another $350 in MSDs to account for the higher payment. So.. great job!

Sorry if I wasn't clear
MSRP
minus 7%
minus $2500
= target selling price
So... don't subtract the $2500 from the 7% discount... subtract it from the price of the car, after the 7% discount.

Thanks so much for the info on the rates, do you have any insight to the pricing for a demonstrator/service car?
I tried looking in other sections but have not had much success finding any real information.
Thanks!

You can't combine the Single Pay lease program and the MSD program. Also, on most 2014 BMW models, there is no additional discount for a Single Pay lease, so no benefit in doing so..
The max MF discount using MSDs is .00049 (7 X .00007)

Oops I calculated 8 payments instead of 7 for the MSD.
Do you know if there is a single lease payment for the 528 and/or the 535d? If so what are the specifics for the program for 36m/15k lease?
I've seen a few advertisements for this but I can't remember which model is was for.
Thanks!
There aren't any 2014 models that get a Single Pay discounted money factor from BMW, this month.

Using your MSRP and CAP cost, MF of .00081 and residual of 59%, I get a pre-tax payment of $488/mo.

You're right, they either adjusted the cap cost or changed the residual to 57.15%.
Assuming I can't get them to change it, would you look at what they're offering me a good deal?

I failed to mention that the 1000 includes the registration (approx $300) and the first month. My question is if the offer is fair ? Should I be shooting for a lower selling price ? Thank you again.
I can't speak to the strength of the offer; use the pricing tools at the top of the page to see what Edmunds' has to say.

Well.. I'm sure the residual had to be adjusted. They can start with the new car residual, but you have to account for the miles. You can't have two cars coming off lease, one with 5000 miles more than the other one, and have the same value for both of them.
But, yes... it's still a good deal.

Is this a good deal.
My lease details below-
I'm using BMW fleet program discount that lower MF by 0.00020
2014 528xi - Dark Graphite Metallic, Dakota leather, cold weather, premium pkg, rear view camera, park distance.
MSRP $58,000
Sale price - $48,851
Residual Value -61% (36 months,12k/yr)
Monthly payment - $425/month.
Total due at signing - $6,259
This includes
First month payment - $425
Lease acquisition fees - $725
Doc fees - $305
DMV fees - $313
Title Fee - $195
NJ Sales Tax - $1,144
7 MSDs of $3150
Total = $6,259
Yes... it's a great deal. With a money factor of .00061 (.00130 mins .00020 minus .00049), it comes out to $425.57/mo.
Normally, I would say to roll the acquisition fees and tax into the lease, but then you'd have to come up with another $350 in MSDs to account for the higher payment. So.. great job!
