Yes .. $1250 of lease cash available this month.
So my next question is... How is lease cash applied to the lease?
Does it apply to the MSRP or how?
Negotiate your best price, then subtract the lease cash from it.

Or, you can apply it to the up front costs (taxes, fees, etc.) to minimize your out of pocket.

Technically, the lease cash is a dealer incentive... make sure you take it into account, when negotiating your best price. They won't deduct it, afterwards..

Are the same $1500 lease incentives also applicable to this model?

Thank you. So the dealer came back with 2014 Tiguan SEL AWD.

With $889 in fees down your lease payments are as follow (All On Approval of Credit):
36 months at 12,000 miles per year = $434 a month plus tax
36 months at 15,000 miles per year = $453 a month plus tax

I am factoring in the $1500 in Volkswagen Credit Dealer Lease Bonus in the pricing of $32,582 plus tax/licensing/documentation fee. The MSRP is $36,050 so you're saving about $3500. The $32,582 pricing also includes a Mat Kit and Splash Guards.

The money factor is 0.00100 On Approval of Credit. The residual values at 36 months are: 52% or $18,746 based off of 15,000 Miles Per Year and 54% or $19,467 based off of 12,000 Miles Per Year.

    Lease seems high.

Base money factor for a 2014 SEL is .00011, not .0010.. that is a big difference.. (one more zero) About $46/mo...

That looks a lot better than your first quotes.. Be sure to take the 15K/yr allowance, if you have any ideas of needing it.. Those are cheap miles

18 months? This must not be a VW supported lease. We only have VW lease numbers for reference.

In general, we advise against putting money down on a lease. You aren't reducing your total lease cost, and if the car is stolen or totaled, you are out that money.

No, they are not. FWD and 4Motion (AWD) versions. However, atleast here in MA and New England, I don't think you could find a FWD one if you wanted.

National or regional deals are just OK - notice the $2999 due at signing. Some (most?) of that is cap cost reduction, which makes the payment look nice and low. Also, title, tax, other options or dealer fees may be extra monies up front.

Let's say that $2K of the $2999 is cap cost reduction .. the effective payment is really $255/mo (199 + (2000/36) ... before tax.

If you negotiate a nice low sales price and ensure that the dealer doesn't mark up the MF on you, you should be able to get a similar monthly payment without the money down.

How to estimate the MF, Residual value and lease cash?

Well... you should get a discount on top of the lease cash... at least $600-$1000 more off..

But, you have to pay a $625 acquisition fee, taxes, title and license fees..

Hi, I'm new here... sorry if these are too many questions.

I'm in the hunt for a 2015 Tiguan S 4Motion on a 36mo/12K lease in zip 55305. At the dealership, they gave me these numbers:

Sale price - 27,599 (this is what they have on their website)
    Money Factor - 0.00068
    Residual - 53%

Can you confirm what numbers I should be getting for this, and whether there are additional incentives I should fighting for?

Finally, if I move up to SE, is there enough residual difference that the difference in payment is less than $20 a month?

    Thank you.

MF for the Tiguan S and SE is .00015 this month. 36/12 residual on the S is 57%. Subtract 1% for the SE.

$2000 lease cash on the S; $1750 lease cash on the SE.

What is the MSRP of the unit where they've quoted you the $27,599 sale price?

Negotiate your best price before applying the lease cash.

Wow... these dudes are trying to rip me off, or what?! The MSRP is 29,335.

So, for instance, can I negotiate them down to invoice price (according to TrueCar it's about 27,500) and from there then apply the lease cash of $2000 for a sale price of 25,500 before taxes (MN I think is 7%)? Is that how that works? So that would put the amount at 10,965. Thanks very much Michael.

If you think you can do that, then yes. Lease cash is factory to dealer; the dealer can choose to pass it along to the customer, in whole or in part.

I believe lease tax in MN is applied to the monthly payment.

Wow... these dudes are trying to rip me off, or what?!

Check the invoice price here on Edmunds... be sure to add the destination fee. I don't think VW has an $1800 spread between MSRP and invoice.

An update for everyone who's been following this.

    1. @Kyfdx - thanks for pointing me to the Edmunds pricing. Invoice, according to Edmunds, is 28,933

    2. @michaell - I received two new quotes today... nobody is giving me that 0.00015 MF - what the hell? Also, I looked at the rebates here in edmunds and it showed $500 VW credit and 2,750 VCI Lease - I didn't see the 2000 cash lease. Anyway here are the quotes for everyone... I'll try to see if I can close this deal

    Dealer B
    Sale Price: $26,817
    Residual Value: 57% ($15,285.69)
    Money Factor: 0.0005

First month, Tax Title & License Due at Signing: $1,491.33
    Monthly Payment: $297.58

    Dealer C
    Sale Price: $26,135
    Money Factor: .00025
    Residual Value 57%/ $16,607
Tax, lic, title, fees = $1,150

Politely but firmly inform the dealers that you will not sign any lease deal that includes a marked up money factor.

I signed a deal tonight on a lease for a 2015 VW Tiguan S AWD. I am in Massachusetts. I needed the AWD. I really wanted heated seats and was frustrated that it only seemed to be an option in the more expensive car.

The car I am leasing has heated seats (cloth as it is an S). They were a dealer added option outside of an expensive package so I got lucky.

I will tell you my numbers but please bear in mind that what they gave me on my trade in was a big factor in the deal.

I have a 15,000 mile per year lease for 36 months for $287 including taxes and fees. I put down $1500. The sticker was around $29,700. There is a $350 disposition fee at the end of the lease and I will have to pay Mass. excise tax in addition to the sales tax included in the $287.

What sealed the deal for me is that they gave me $10,500 for my 2008 Infiniti EX35 with 109,000 miles in need of a major service and new tires (which I disclosed to them). They took the $1500 down payment from the $10,500 and they are cutting me a check for $9000.

I normally drive 20,000 miles per year and this is my first lease. I hope it works out okay. I absolutely love how the car drives and I am so excited.

I also test drove a Mini Countryman AWD (it vibrated on the highway and lots of engine noise but otherwise super cute) and the Ford Escape (total snooze fest and they only offered me $7k for my trade and the lease was $375 per month (and that was for unheated cloth seats!).

Just signed on 2/2 for an SE/Appearance 2WD in SoCal. We found the exact color we wanted and dealer traded for it 100 miles away.
I had done all the math and figured the payment based on the trade equity covering the upfront taxes and registration (so I'm not taxed twice on a tax) and acquisition and I think there was a net $75 cap reduction, and paid the first payment only as drive-off (actually $321+$1150 in trade). I figured this using a very accurate calculator I created at $320.50.

When the deal was done, I had used the 1 day, not 10 day payoff on the loan in my calcs so it upped the payment to $321 for 36 months. This was explained by the dealer when he checked with Chase, as he said they can't do the payoff in 1 day, it usually takes a week or more, so they always use the 10 day. $14 difference wasn't going to break me.

BUT: I didn't really care about MF vs. Cap Cost on their paperwork because I knew what the right final numbers should be, and for some reason the dealer chose to discount the car further than I had asked and increase the money factor to make it up. The payment was identical, the drive-off identical, etc.

Why would a dealer prefer to have a higher "dealer contribution" and lower Cap Cost and inflate the MF? Is there a tax or profit benefit to them to do that? To me, $321 per month with $321 driveoff is the same either way and was my "best case" deal going in so I was happy. Just wonder what is in it for them?
