    Thanks. NY is the state.
I added remote start ($799) and Lexus pays 1st month.

NY taxes all lease payments up front then add them to the cap cost. $575 seems about right.

What is the selling price? What is the breakdown of the $3499?

Selling Price is $43300. Then $3499+Fees.

So the $3499 is cap cost reduction (aka down payment)? That's almost $100 of lease payment alone - meaning your "true" payment is closer to $500, not $400.

.00090 and 61% are the 36/10 lease numbers for the RX this month. With your MSRP and selling price, I get a $0 down pre-tax payment of $485.29/mo.

This is not a good offer. This sounds like one of the lease special promotions, which never favor the consumer. At this monthly rate you can get a loaded rx350 with an MSRP over 50000.

Negotiate the price of the vehicle first. Do not negotiate monthly payments. After you have reached an agreed price have them deduct any current incentives. Shoot for 4.5 to 5k off msrp for the selling price. Once you have the sale price you can figure out on your own what your monthly payment will be.

Read through this forum to fully understand how a lease works if you are new at this.  The information here will provide you with everything you need to know in getting a good lease.

I'm planning on leasing a rx 350 f sport. Msrp is about $53500. Can't recall the exact amount. They are offering the car at a sale price at 48950 and 27 months 10k miles per year at $582 per month with $582 at signing which includes the $1000 lease cash and $582 first month payment as rebate. Is this a good price? They told me they are using the base mf. I am in new jersey where the sales tax is 7%. I thought sales tax would be applied to the total cap cost amount but they are telling me it is only on the total payment. Is that correct? Thank you.

MF is .00090 and the 27/10 residual is 69%. With your MSRP and selling price, I get a pre-tax payment of $523.02.

NJ calculates sales tax against the entire lease (depreciated amount) up front - this can be added into the sale price or paid up front.

As per New Jersey tax laws, you will be paying a tax rate of 7.4%. All vehicles sold over $45000 (including leases) must pay an additional .4% sales tax.  Thought I would run that by you before you question it on your lease contract. And I believe you have to pay that extra .4 percent upfront. In your case you will have to pay .4% of 48950.  You will pay 7% tax of the leased amount, not 48950.

In the market to lease a 2015 RX 350 FWD, MSRP 45900 to 46130. So far, the best deals I got were for 27 months/12K, $2500 out of pocket, $350 a month. I've been asking for a 36 month lease, but the dealers keep insisting that I'd get the best deals on the 27 month lease only... and that I could extend it for additional 6 months through Lexus directly. Is the latter even a good alternative or a trap? Any thoughts if it's a good deal?

The 27 month might look a little better, but once you amortize your upfront costs over 36 months, you'll find the deals are almost identical. If you want a 36 month lease, ask them to run the numbers..

    Don't believe that.

When I was shopping my dealers gave me quotes for 27, 36, 42 and 48 months.

The numbers were close, $10 difference, with 27 and 48 m being the lowest.

Insist that the dealer gives you quote for 36m.

27 and 33 month leases offer the best monthly rates, even if you include the acquisition fee and documents fees into the lease. It's a savings of about 10 bucks a month, but will vary with the final agreed selling price of the vehicle.  Fool around with a calculator, or lease calculator to simplify things, and you will see that 27 and 33 months give the lowest rate. Just be sure you have the current residuals when figuring out the different leases.

Beware though! If you wish to renew a lease after 27 months you have to pay the acquisition fee/document fees sooner  then with a 36 month lease. If you keep leasing through your life then you will be paying more fees with 27 month leases.

Another thought. With 27 month lease you will also pay less in vehicle maintenance services (less service, first two are free) plus less wear and tear.  So I think 27 month leases do offer the most savings. Big negative is that you have to car shop again sooner.

As I have been saying in my previous posts, do not ask for monthly rates when shopping for a lease. Negotiate the selling price first, then you can figure out what the monthly rate will be on your own.  If you simply ask the sales rep for a monthly rate then they are figuring out the sale price of the vehicle, a huge advantage for them.

Not that I think anybody cares, but I ran my lease numbers again. My 36 month lease would have been 19 dollars cheaper a month for a 27 month lease (with doc plus acquisition fees rolled into the lease) Without rolling in the fees it would have been 30 dollars cheaper a month. So yes, 27 mos is definitely cheaper.

A local broker is quoting me 409 a month plus tax 0 down on a 2015 Lexus RX 350 base model with 10,000 miles a year on a 24 month leasein California.  the best deal I've gotten so far at a dealership is 399 a month with 3500 down on a 36 month lease with 10,000 miles a year.  does the brokers deal sound plausible given the current money factor and residual raised on a 2015 with a 24 month lease?

Could you please give me the MF and RV on a 2015 RX350 with Premium, Nav, and Comfort packages for 24/36/39 months at 15K in NY? Does adding premium sound system and Heads up display change anything?

    Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback. Not sure if this additional information will help in figuring if I am getting a good deal or not, but thought I should share:

    Selling: $40,680
    MF: 0.0009
    Residual: $32,289
    Out of Pocket: $2500
    Monthly: $350 w/tax

Need a bit more information on the $2500 out of pocket? How much of that is going towards fees (acquisition fee, document fees, etc, ect) and how much is going towards cap cost reduction?  Also, is first month part of this $2500 (it's supposed to be waived but dealerships do different things with this waiver, see below)

Also, how are they giving you the first month payment waived benefit and lease cash?  Are they part of your agreed sales price (already factored in) or are they going to be considered a cap cost reduction?

Money factor is correct but your residual seems very generous. They are quoting you a 70% residual for 27 months and 12K a year. When I leased last July the 70% residual was for 27 months and 10K a year. Either my memory is wrong, the dealership is screwing up, or Lexus gives great residuals in your area.

That's actually looks like it's a pretty solid deal. I would personally reduce the drive offs and increase the monthly pymt. Not only will that get you a larger credit from Lexus financial, but it's easier to compare deals side by side.

Also, be aware of extra registrations fees in an odd lease (like 27 months). For me, it raised my payment by $5 or $10 to do 24 months, but i avoided another $400 in DMV fees that I would have only been able to use for 3 months (months 25, 26, 27).

To be sure, people would need to know what how taxes are treated in your state

Looking to get the forum's opinion on the deal I took on a 2015 RX 350 AWD w/ nav, premium package, blind spot, etc. The information on here was very helpful!

MSRP: $54,500 (approx. - can't remember exact figure)
    Selling: $46,352.70
    MF: 0.0009
    Residual: $30,770.84
    Out of Pocket: $0
Outstanding Prior Lease Balance: $5,712 (received tax break for doing trade-in vs. starting new)
    Months: 36
    Mileage: 10K/yr
    - $1,000 Lexus Financial Credit - $699 (first month's payment) + $700 acquisition fee + additional $932 in taxes and random fees + $499 document fee.
    Total Monthly: $699 (includes taxes)

    Thoughts?

I'm planning on leasing a rx 350 f sport. Msrp is about $53500. Can't recall the exact amount. Michaell and Jessica, you two are awesome. Thank you for all your help.

Is there a site that shows the residual values for each car? Do you know what the residual is for a RX350 for 12k miles per year @ 27 months, 33 months, and 36 months? Dealer says that 27 months is the best deal? Are residual % the same for F-Sport, base 350, and hybrid 450h?

I'm also looking at a base RX 350 with MSRP of $50,300. Is $45,000 a good price if that is the price before rebate ($1000) and incentive (first months payment)?

Never leased a car before and learning a lot from your posts.

    Thank you!

5K off before incentives is a good deal. I would take it. If you go over to the club Lexus website you will read people getting 6.5k and more off, but they tend to be in California. Not sure where you are, but 5k off is still attractive.

27 month leases do offer the best lease rates, just be careful of the registration fees as bwamps mentioned above. I know that in my state if you lease for 27 months you pay 3 years of registration fees upfront then the state will issue you credit at the end of the 27 month lease. Check with your state vehicle board to find out how they manage lease registration fees.

I don't know the residuals you asked for, but I am sure you can find by reading through this discussion board.

I do not know of any website that lists all the different residuals for vehicles.

The residual information I have is not available to the general public.

.00090 is the base MF this month and the 12K residuals for 27/33/36 months are 68% / 63% / 60%

Isn't MD one of the states that taxes the entire selling price? If so, your quote of $529/mo seems about right.

Hi, Just got offer on RX350 AWD nav, comfort and premium packages in NJ. MSRP $50,583
    36 month 12K miles
Total cash out of packet include first month payment = $1,300
Monthly payment include nj tax = $490
Is this a good deal. Will it be better deals after new year?
    Thanks

    What is the selling price?

$490/mo on a car that stickers for $50K looks like a good deal, but the devil is in the details.

Cannot tell you if the numbers will get better or worse in January.

prilum, FYI - I was looking at a RX 350 AWD with MSRP $50,250 and had a payment of about $500 with $0 cash out of pocket, fees and taxes rolled into the monthly payments. Terms were 27 months, 12k miles per year. Message me if you want the name of the dealer.

Residual for 36/12 is 60%. With your MSRP and net cap cost (balance due), I get a payment of $638.92. Your $0 down offer of $587/mo looks strong by comparison.

I'm looking to get a MF and residual for a 2015 RX AWD and FWD base model for 27 and 36 months 12k/yr in Illinois.

Found a $1K lease bonus cash when leasing on LFS subvented contracts. Any idea on what this means.

    Really appreciate the advise!

Information provided by Michaell a few posts above yours:

    12K residuals for 27/33/36 months are 68% / 63% / 60%

Thanks for the numbers. Any idea what MF rate is in IL?

Lexus always published separate MF numbers for IL, but with the change in the sales tax law effective 1/1/15, I doubt that will be the case going forward.

The current (non IL) MF for the RX is .00090. This number is valid through Monday, 1/5/15. We're hoping new numbers will be available next week.

If you got a great lease deal in 2014, a reporter wants to talk with you. Please email PR@edmunds.com no later than Wednesday, January 7, 2015, and include your daytime contact info and the make and model you leased.

Thank you. Historically, do you think that one could do better in the spring vs buying now? I know it's hard to predict, but I am on the fence about pulling the trigger now on a great deal (5700 off sticker plus the 1000 rebate) or waiting until the spring.

Usually, lease programs are not that great in January, compared with later months. I see a lot of the best programs in March.

That said, the RX program might suck in March... the above is a generalization.

Can anybody give feedback on a quote for 2015 RX 350 AWD:
    MSRP: $51,638
    Selling: $46,500
    Out of pocket: $3,500
    Adjusted cap cost: $44,757
    MF: 0.00150
    Residual: $36,662
    Months: 24
    Mileage: 7.5k
    Monthly: $459 + tax

Not sure about the money factor though. Is it still 0.0009 for CA?
    Thanks a lot.

Yes, the MF is still .00090 this month. Dealer is marking it up for extra profit.

I'm assuming that $1743 of your out of pocket is going to cap cost reduction. This is not something we recommend; if your car is stolen or totaled during the lease, you are out that money.

Also, $1743 represents and extra $73/mo on your payment, so your "true" payment is $532/mo before taxes.

What you want is to minimize your out of pocket to include the first months payment, acquisition fee and any state mandated taxes or fees - say, $1500 or so. And, politely but firmly explain to the dealer that you won't sign a contract that includes an inflated MF.

Deals have been widely varied in Ca on a 2015 Rx

here is the deal I was thinking about finalizing

    msrp 50144
    selling price 44500
mf .00018 with 9 security deposits
    1000 lease cash from lexus
    1200 down
    27 mo 10k
    68% residual
paynent 399 inc tax (I needed to be under 400 bc Lexus rounds to 50s with the security deposits)
total out of pocket cash 1600 (1200 above plus 1st payment) and the 3600 for the deposits.

I confirm the 68% residual, but don't have any specifics on the MSD program. However, it looks like each of your 9 MSD reduced the MF by .00008.

I'm getting $399.41/mo pre-tax with your numbers ... not sure how you are getting a quote of the same amount with tax.

Michaell, thank you very much. Unfortunately our dealer was trying to convince us that 0.0009 is for tier 1+ or something.
