I have a local mom and pop appliance store in my town that I have bought from for over 30 years. We have a huge Nebraska Furniture Mart a few towns over that has great prices, but I have never bought from them. I go into my local store and show them the price from Nebraska FM, and ask them if they will match it. They always do and we buy from them. I pay extra for delivery, which is free from Nebraska FM, but these small stores have to make a little bit or else they can't stay in business. They tell me they are happy to match prices to get my business. Their service is great and I hope they are able to stay in business.

@iluvmysephia1, I'm very sorry for your loss. I am always sadder at the loss of a pet than the loss of most people. Not sure what that says about me.

Electrolux bought GE. I think most of their appliances are still made in KY. But, Electrolux doesn’t have that good of a rep for reliability, either.

Nope. GE sold their appliance division to Haier of China. Most of their GE appliance products are still made in North America though, at least for now.

Electrolux bought Frigidaire a number of years ago.

My major complaint about my Samsung TV is that at times it drops the network while streaming wirelessly, and it is definitely a problem with the TV I bought. Updates didn't help. It's quite annoying as I have to use an HDMI cable from my router. Of course, people who are connected directly to the cable won't have this issue.

Don't be so sure. My Sony smart Blu-Ray was fairly useless on wireless so I ran a cable to it from the router. Now it works on some apps but others like MLB are still flaky as can be. It is like it cannot buffer very much at all to compensate for occasional blips in the signal from the modem. I suspect it is more a coding issue than one with the box itself since it is not that way for everything. The problem with the smart apps is that the manufacturer is responsible for implementing the app's core software and that seems to be where thing go wrong.

Our 14 year-old Pomeranian passed away from respiratory issues. I prayed to God that he just go - he was panting heavy for a day and a half. Our vet wanted to try and settle an infection with antibiotics and sold me some yesterday to give him. Trouble was, he was panting so heavily and the antibiotic was horse-pill sized! I got down right by him on the carpet and told him he was a great dog. He was an answer to a prayer for another Pomeranian after our first Pom died in June of 2004. Very loyal, loving dog. Cotey's the Pom on the right in this picture.
My sincere condolences, iluv.  Sorry to hear of your loss.

AB...you’re right. I just looked up the family tree of appliances. Apparently, Electrolux was going to buy GE Appliances, but the deal fell through.

I should inform my appliance sales person of this, and claim mental superiority. ;)

Losing a pet is horrible and the reason why after two great dogs and several cats we have now chosen to be pet free. there is much we miss and a few things we DON'T miss. the litterbox comes to mind.

It's just a shame their lives have to be so short.

@iluvmysephia1, my condolences about your dog. It's very tough on family members when they go. About all you can do is to console yourself that they will not suffer anymore.

Thanks, guys, for all of your condolences. It is really tough on the Mrs. and I. I just finished up burying him in the front yard. I am considering a memorial stone to put on that spot.

Cotey was a smiley, eager to eat pretty much always, happy baby. He fulfilled the purpose I got him for - to help me get over the loss of our first Pomeranian, Abbey. He did that, fully and completely.

    RIP Cotey

I used to have Liberty. IIRC left them when our son came on the policy, and they wanted a fortune for him. Obviously not an issue now! I do get regular mail from them touting some special deals from being a Hyundai owner. So will give them a look too.

I just don't want to deal with the big advertising interets companies.

Same here - Liberty Mutual insures my car, my Condo and my 1-million dollar umbrella policy.  They also give a 5% discount on your auto premium if you take a course in defensive driving.  One good thing with LM is that the policy term is 12 months - not 6 months.  I also get a discount for being a Mercedes customer and an NYU alum.

This boat attracted my attention for some reason. Seems a reasonable price compared to the stuff I see on the classic TV auctions. What's something like this worth assuming it runs and isn't half bondo? Looks about the size of the Dodge Polara I learned to drive on.

You are brave...driving in Toronto, or T.O. as we call it. I try to avoid driving there at all cost. Rather take a GO Train in...I think it is $18 return for seniors, a lot less than parking, which is probably $18 an hour.

I'd be thrilled, it would mean I either won the powerball and had a drunken venture on to a MB dealer site, or I otherwise won the car and can now sell it :) - those things are quite expensive.

The shade of the paint on the right front fender doesn't match the rest of the same side.
To me, it looks kind of awkward as a coupe instead of a sedan.

The owner calls it a “coop”? I know it’s CL, but c’mon! Never could understand someone selling a car because they’re moving. What? Can’t take it with you? It’s a car. It’s mobile.

Owner sure doesn’t want to show the front seat area, either.

I’m borderline on this one. I certainly would want to see and drive it, first.
