also very handy for learning how to replace your cabin air filter. Which reminds me, I need to check the file for the RDX and see when that was last done.
I finally got smart. I keep all my papers in a manila folder (one per car), and wrote on the front everything I have done on it (with date and miles) for quick reference, instead of going back through all the receipts each time. And I note when it needs to be done again. Also a good way to see how many miles I put on each year!

That is a good idea. I am going to do that for the C 250, write down what maintenance I actually had done and the date....right on the cover of the manual (paper taped on), so I have the actual dates of things that were done, then I don't have to automatically do an A or a B service, I can do what is actually needed.
When I buy a car, I put a small notebook in the glove compartment. I record everything that happens with the car in that notebook. I have been doing this for decades.

Whatever you do just don't screw up that mileage log. Some really bad things happen when you do that.

I keep all the paperwork in a folder in my desk. Handy to have it all together.
I keep the receipts in the folder with the manual, but I like having a list on the cover to easily see what service was done. If I have something difficult to do that has to be done every once in awhile, like change the battery in the key fob, I write a note on the cover of the manual that says to do this look at page 224 or whatever it is. If extra difficult to follow I translate it into ordinary English with my own steps....I do this for the Homelink, and leave the page in the manual.
Work is like that... it's so annoying! Now we have things that have three criteria (User/PW/Group).
I didn't even mention two-part verification. When a PW changes, I have to get either push verification to my cell (no cell service at the house) or a text with a code or a call to the house line with a code, to verify that I indeed changed my PW. Then I get to do it on every device that I use
For trunk use to keep things from falling easily or rolling around, there's this. It collapses almost flat. It's portable so I can slide the collapsed unit into nooks in the trunk OR I can remove it and leave it in the garage. It was a gift from good friends and has been very useful.
The collapsible boxes would work, though they are small enough that you's probably need a pair of them, and then it starts to get expensive. There are metal loops affixed securely in the trunk already, so I'm going to try the bungee cord method to hold the bags first.
When I got my car in November, 2017, I specifically told the manager that I wanted a car with the collapsible cargo box. When I open the trunk, I pull back on the frame which is located at the upper lip of the trunk.
Yep! See the silvery button on the right side of the frame - press that and the bottom collapses automatically into the top frame. I use it frequently.
Good for carrying all that Scotch!
And for only 3 or 4 hundred dollars you get an extra rattle.

All that record keeping might be important when you sell your car to a private buyer but from my experience a dealer couldn’t care less. When he examines your trade he must be able to tell if the car was abused and most won’t show them to a new owner for fear of violating your privacy. No dealer ever cared how OCD I was with maintenance. They all low balled my trade.

You are exactly correct. Private buyers like the records, dealers don't give a flying F. I keep the notebooks when I trade in a car (or truck), the dealer would just throw it away when they detail the car and clean out the glove compartment.
Hooks like are in my Legacy to hold bags. Between them and the nets, things remain pretty much where I leave them.
Yes, that was exactly what I originally had in mind. Unfortunately they seem impossible to install in the ATS without a whole lot of disassembly to ensure I don't mess something up royally.
Michelin introduces a puncture-proof airless tire. Looks like it could be a good snow tire but not sure how it would fare as a high performance or all season tire. Watch short 2 minute video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIYFf6Bmpis
I think Michelin is testing it out in coordination with GM. They are a good tire company, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, but from the picture it doesn't look like there is a lot of padding for rough surfaces.

Great concept, but no word if punctures are repairable. I’d pay far much LESS for run flats even as (my, Dunlop) current OEM runflats costs more. They also wear faster, don’t handle & rude as well, Why pay $1,400 (run flats) when $828 (non run flats) will do? Realistically IF more common sizes (17 in/18 in) were used, both concepts would be way cheaper still.
Michelin makes great tires, but they can cost twice as much + more. Even though I’ve been a Michelin brand fan for a very long time, the price/performance ratio’s have been out of kilter across all interested applications & brands for a very long time.
Lol lowly view from my Elantra. Pulled in the spot ahead of me at the wholesale club.
I hope he puts his truck into reverse and not drive when he gets in to go.
I was in the left lane on the highway Wednesday, there were 3 lanes going east, it was really raining, I was going 75 mph and was a few car lengths behind the guy in front, I can't go any faster, and a guy in his big black raised from the ground pick up truck is on my back bumper and flashing his headlights. I flashed my brake lights 3 times because I couldn't move over, there were cars beside me. The first chance I had I got out of his way - but of course he had to demonstrate what an idiot he was by zooming past before I had moved all the way over....and then tailgate the next car in the left lane.
I think I have an idea of the profile of someone who has to bully cars over a lane....and of someone who needs to jack their truck up 4 feet off the ground.
I was driving to my son and DIL's to pick up their dog for a couple days. There's 3/4 mile long road that has a furniture store warehouse, a lock yourself storage facility, and city fire station spread out. I was halfway along the 35 mph road and saw an ugly black pair of Jeep headlights close behind. The road bypasses a stoplight and cuts to another main road. I continued at my same speed and moved to make left turn into the apartment/condo group. As the tailgater rolled by he yelled something I couldn't understand.
I've been tailgated before by rental trucks people are using to pick up furniture at the warehouse/clearance store, e.g.
I'll have to put a bug in the ear of the local police about the tailgating and aggression. A neighbor is in the fire department there. I'm sure he knows everybody.
When did they stop using those? The picture brings back fond memories of my 1959 bug eyed Sprite that I filled with WD 60 (I think) and that still used more oil than gasoline. I used to buy oil in a one gallon can. When did they switch to;

I NEVER park in spots like that. Too risky if the car lurches when the driver puts it in gear. Even worse if it's a stick. I also don't park in spots where an idiot pulls through where their trunk would be at my front bumper if I pulled into that spot. When that happens they almost always try to move their shopping cart close to the rear of their car, which would then put my bumper in a precarious spot. IMO, pulling through should be a ticketed offense. In fact, at one place I worked if you pulled through to park, you were told about it and if you did it three times, you were fired. People with two strikes on them fearer that their old habit would be the end of them. I thought it was a great parking lot rule.

I’d hate to drive that open sided tire in winter slush and then have it freeze in those slots overnight. Wonder how it would do in corners without a sidewall. Or is that just a demonstration tire and the production model would be sealed?
I like it’s puncture resistance though.

All companies have rules and if you repeatedly break them you will usually pay the price. I doubt that Judge Judy would even attempt to hear a case like that.
