Congrats, @snakeweasel , that is a nice-looking car at what seems to be a very fair price. Might be a good idea to invest in a set of sheepskins or similar covers next summer to avoid being char-broiled on those black leather seats when the top is down.
Fabulous looking car. Be sure to get your own license plate holders....unless you like the Autonation pink ones. If you are having plates put on buy chrome ones ahead of time to take with.....if you buy them in their store they will be about $40.
They still have the plate holders from before they were bought by Autonation. They are black so we are going to have them put those on.
Now Driver I do have a question, since I have a BMW can I call other cars wannabes?

Finally got my butt to the DMV to register the Chevy. Was trying to hold out for Charger title to do both at once, but that is taking too long.
Anyway, it seems they change their methods every darned time I’m here. Used to be you stand in line. Then they went to electronic numbers flashed on an LED sign. Then to electronic numbers listed on an LCD like the train station. Then we did away with all of that and opted to have a receptionist give you the forms and direct you to a window. That method got me in and out the absolute fastest. Now I come here today and the receptionist gives you the forms but then tells me to come see her when complete. I do that and she gives me a deli ticket. WTF?! We’ve gone backwards like 3 iterations. Been here for 30 mins and they are nowhere near my number.

I find black leather in a convertible comes in handy when the temps are a little bit too cold to have the top down. Then you appreciate the warming effect. As long as the sun is out I can drive comfortably down into the low 60s.

I have one in my town. It's usually not too bad early in the day. Recently I went to the Turnersville location at lunchtime for a new license and was in and out in under 30 minutes.
Our DMV is pretty bad too, typical govt customer service, which is to say, not much. We can do registration renewals online which is a godsend, but licenses and registration transfers need to be done in person.
Driver, that is why they are keeping the Sebring. so the nice car can stay in the garage when it is snowy.
Forgot about that. Isn't that like having plastic sheets on your chairs? You need an extra car for when it snows. Personally, I don't like living that way.....use what you have, when it wears out replace it. Costs more in money, time and energy to keep an extra car on the road for certain weather conditions. But, that is just me!

The worst part is the air blasting on the back of your head/neck/shoulders it you don't have a wind deflector. Dunno if the 4-series comes with one but you might want to get one.

May not need the extra car but it's nice to have just in case. It's pretty much fully depreciated so it wont lose any more value, it does little for me to trade it in and I only have to have liability insurance on it. So the additional cost of keeping it is minimal.

I don’t ever recall that being a problem although I can see it happening in a small two seater. Whatever wind buffeting I’ve experienced is refreshing.

BTW, you can negotiate the Autonation otd price. I'm not sure about all of them but that was the case when I bought my '19 TAH.
My understanding is that they have used cars as one price but will negotiate new cars. I did check some sources on car values and did determine that the price was low. Their OTD price was less that what Kelly Blue Book has as a typical listing price, so I believe the deal is good. That's not to say I didn't try.

They are pretty rigid about their pricing. I did get an extra $200 for our Passat trade-in, but our salesman said he was very surprised they did that.

You have 2 extra cars for 5 months of the year, and 1 extra car for the other 7.
not sure what it costs to own the spare car (insurance, maintenance, etc.) but another option is to just ship one of your regular ones down in the fall and back in the spring.

Good idea.....fair bit of logistics though. There are delivery services which will bring our car to Florida, on a transport truck or a driver. I think the big problem is timing, we get to the Florida place and starve while waiting for the car to arrive.
I think we do it this way because it is more convenient, and if we can afford to do it, why not live as enjoyably as we can...it works. Besides, I like having a different car for a few months, and the cars at home should last a lot longer....in fact I won't have to trade any of them if I don't want to...for about 10 more years.
Snake could theoretically keep his Sebring on the road, but, Mrs S would like a nicer newer car. If he can manage it...why not do it?

While in college in the 70's my sister and her friends used to travel the country in the summer by driving peoples cars from point A to point B. Sounds good until you realized 6 hippies drove your car cross country.
My plan is to drive the other two cars as long as I can then replace them with just one reasonable car. So frome now on it's going to be one real nice car and one commuter/grocery getter in the garage.

So did the Edmunds 2 series convertible, but even with leather that wasn't black, it was a bit of an issue:
Yesterday as I pulled out of a convenience store in comes a nice Honda Civic type R which parks in the handicapped spot right in front of a sign that says “no parking”. Out comes a strapping young fellow early 30s whose only apparent handicap was lack of morals.

That's what "REAL SNOWBIRDS" do. The car carriers are starting to arrive here now in my condo community. Most common plates are NY NJ PENN ILL. The Quebec/Ontario plates usually arrive in November.
I read somewhere that there is a possibility that Canadians will be able to stay longer here in the US to escape cold and snow - the issue still remains health coverage.

Well, as I mentioned previously, my insurance for 2 cars is lower than it was for the one. Maintenance is a non-issue, IMHO, since it is based on mileage and you aren't driving more miles just because you are spreading it over 2 or more vehicles. OK, sure, you might say "I drive so little that I'd have to change the oil in both once a year no matter what," to which I have to say "will 1 extra oil change a year really make or break the deal?"

Driver situation is different though. Only the Florida car is on the policy in the US I assume.
I also would not want my car sitting unattended for 5 months like that, but maybe that’s just me! I don’t like leaving them for a week when we go on a trip!
