I posted part of this over on CCBA, here's the complete story. The Kia Store responses are just a hoot.
I think that The Kia Store has one of the most ambivalent sales staff that I have ever encountered; here's the entire exchange...

I first used the "Contact Us" feature on their website- advising I was looking for a RWD Stinger GT1 in one of three colors.

    Their response?

    Hi RB,

Thank you for you online inquiry into a new KIA! We are having a sale on most of our models. What kind of vehicle are you looking for?

    I responded,

The only Kia I'm considering is a RWD Stinger GT1 in Snow White Pearl, Ceramic Silver, or Panthera Metal with the Red Interior Color Package. Thanks!

    And their reply?

“RB, thank you for your interest in the Stinger.

I am attaching a link to our current available inventory. If there is a specific one you are wanting to purchase we may still be able to order it depending on when KIA is looking to move to the 2021's

Please let me know if I can help further!”

I guess arranging a dealer trade is light years above his pay grade; and lack of enthusiasm is palpable. I guess I took him away from clubbing payment buyers like a baby seal. The funny thing is, my son is wanting to replace his 3er with a small CUV until he gets his own house, and I was considering letting that dealer handle both the Stinger sale and a short term lease for my son.
    Ya snooze, ya lose...

Try calling and ask to speak to the sales manager. Or if you want to email ask for his email address, or get it from their website. Where there is a will there is a way.

Thanks to everyone for your kind support and comments regarding the new E450. I will now pull back a bit and let other posters have a chance to post their stuff.

Congratulations @mike. Nice looking car on both the inside and outside. But wow, the steering wheel controls look a bit busy though. I would think most of these controls are voice activated and perhaps safer during navigation.

I was just reading a story about a Utah State Trooper who pulled over a SUV for wandering all over the road. There was a five year old boy driving it.

He said he was on his way to visit his sister in California and was going to buy a Lamborgini when he got there. He had $3 in his wallet.

I parked behind a G90 today and thought of you. That was one of the cars that you did you early casual shopping by looking at. I think you mentioned the ES350? What other ones did you actually sit in or look at when you were mulling over the "what if" at the end of this lease?

You are correct - the ES350, the Avalon, the 540i, the E450 and the G80 and G90. The E450 was at the bottom of my list because of the MSRP of $75,000.

Who would have thought I could get an E450 for $62,900+++ including 0% financing, 90 day 1st payment deferral and $750 rebate and a great pull ahead program on the S450 lease.

I actually saw that Stinger. It was used by the GM at my dealership, who is part of the same dealer group as the store I bought mine.

Pretty nice looking actually. Not sure if the wheels and hood would wear thin on me over time. But, it's a good look for that car.

The E450 handles more like a sports sedan - precise handling and acceleration with pinpoint cornering and steering. The ride is much stiffer than the S450's ride.

The ride and handing reminded me of the BMW's I used to own.

    2015 Audi A4 quattro 2.0T report:

So I think I might have mentioned the DMV registration debacle where I paid for a full years worth of new registration when I bought the CPO car last July, but somehow the State was hitting me up for renewal in January, and the license plate stickers they gave me said January too.

Anyways, the dealership gave me a pro-rated refund to cover the DMV fees that came half a year earlier than they should have, but that's not the moral of this story:

I'm here to report that my Audi has had a major problem. Now I thought I was out of warranty as the CPO warranty from Audi is apparently 5 years and unlimited miles these days. Being a 2015 car I thought I was going to have problems.

The A/C I reported last year as deficient and that they recharged last summer and told me it was "fine" after that "fix" has exhibited signs of "uncharging" again. Sort of working at 50%. It hasn't been hot yet, except for this week; so I didn't waste more time being in denial, I took it in to have it looked at as I was only comfortable when it was 80 degrees or less outside, above that, it can't keep up well.

Just got a call it needs a new evaporator coil (expensive part!).

Good news! My CPO warranty is good through July (maybe you get a minimum of 1 year no matter what the vehicle's age is?) I don't know, but the dealership confirmed my warranty is showing up as good through July this year.

Other good news: They are covering the repair, and I'll have a new loaner FWD A3 until then (most likely finishing up Monday or Tuesday next week as they wait for parts).

Bad news! There's apparently an $85 deductible on CPO warranty repairs, making a CPO warranty much worse than a new car warranty. Not the end of the world, but I didn't know about it, nor did I notice that fine print before, which is disappointing. However, at least this $85 is going to a worth while cause, that being an expensive fix.

Time to join the CCBA for this lemon? ???? what say you?

I think I might chalk this one up to problems associated with a car driven only 16,500 miles over its first 4-1/2 years of life. Sitting idle in the sun of CA can't be good for AC system.

I asked a Hyundai dealer about test driving a dual clutch turbo Veloster and I got crickets other than being quoted a price. I just want test drives at this point. That's enough in COVID19 to be ignored I guess.

I probably should have used a smiley emoji of some type on that line. I was just joking about it being a lemon. Takes a lot more than a faulty AC to reach lemon status. And yes, I'm aware the laws generally only apply to new cars.

Why am I aware of lemon laws in California? Oh, I researched it before when I owned a certain Neon.

So in case your wondering or moving to CA soon, here are the restrictions:

    1) You have to complain in the first 18 months or 18,000 miles.
    2) You have to have had at least 2 repair attempts unsuccessfully for major issues.
    3) You have to have had at least 4 repair attempts unsuccessfully for minor issues.
    4) Alternately 30 or more days out of service = Automatic Lemon.

    DISCLAIMER
****My data might be outdated from 15+ years ago. Laws may change. I'm not a lawyer, nor is this legal advice.

Chalk this up to having too much time on my hands. Mentioned previously that I'm looking to downsize and am looking for a new house. That meant "sprucing up" my current abode to get it ready to put on the market. Bathrooms and kitchens are what sell houses, right after good curb appeal (landscaping) and good mechanicals.

My bathroom floors were already heated, but I ripped out the vanities, mirrors, painted and ended up with this. It reminds me of why home remodeling was not a career choice for me.

My God we have the same bathroom flooring.
    Must be cheap. :o

Just heard that Palm Beach County may begin opening up shortly - ahead of Broward and Miami-Dade counties - which is going to be a Godsend! Why you might ask? Because my barber is in Boca Raton (Palm Beach County)! Yeah!

The problem I will be faced with is how long will I have to wait for an appointment? I might have to go for the ponytail anyway - ugh!🤪😜😛

Just cut your own hair or maybe have a friend help. Mine didn't turn out too bad, all things considered. When barber shops re-open here, I suspect the waiting times will be off the hook. And if a second wave develops, all bets are off.

I am visiting in an outlying area now where there are few non big-box retail shops and far fewer dine-in restaurants than in the metro area, so the mild "lockdown" instituted by the state seems to have less of an impact - traffic seems to be not far off the normal, the economy here probably hasn't been good in 50 years, so not much apparent change there either. This isn't one of the WA areas with gormless drama king LEO types whining about lawful orders they don't agree with. I went to a big box store and a chain supermarket with my mom - maybe half of the customers are wearing masks, didn't seem to be more or less busy than usual. I did notice TP is still in short supply here, only a minimal stock of store brand - we got over that issue weeks ago in the city. I guess that's part of being at the end of the supply chain.

Wife had appt for shoulder pain at a specialist ortho group as a part of the spine/joint building attached to the hospital. I noticed the two doctors and both residents (from Wright State Medical School) all had nicely trimmed hair. Here I am with my wife's having given me a trim mostly on top and the sides are obviously long.

Haven't had hair this long since the late 70s.

Don't know when the barbershops will open up here. Too bad, Lowes/HomeDepot/Kroger don't have barber shops as part of their stores. The big companies have operated right through this. I miss my barber--she's great.

Just cut your own hair or maybe have a friend help. Mine didn't turn out too bad, all things considered. When barber shops re-open here, I suspect the waiting times will be off the hook. And if a second wave develops, all bets are off.

I have my hair cut extremely close, maybe once a week I take clippers to it cutting it at the shortest setting. To get it any shorter I'll have to shave it. Haven't been to the barber in years.

Interesting about the FW-190 model. I live close to a commercial airport, and a WW2 vintage plane flew over the house today while I was washing cars.

It had the German logo, like this, underneath the wings:

I don't know if it was the FW-190 or the Me-109, however.

We have a municipal owned small airport not far from me. We have small planes going over our house often. Anyway they do a small air show every summer with fly overs of various air craft, one day a B2 bomber flew right over our house.
If your house is still standing somebody washed out of bombadeer school. :o

I’m surprised, because I heard that Palm Beach had one of the highest numbers of coronavirus cases, and it’s still rising.

@imidazol97 ...floor is a synthetic. Seriously, looking at it, it looks identical to marble. I had ceramic there before. Pretty dated. And, it didn’t heat that well even with the hearing coils underneath given the tile was so thick (and a b!tch to remove).

Get it at Lowes. Amazing how a good synthetic (not the cheap stuff that looks like a 1980s era “wood grain” dash in cars) will look very close to the real thing!

I heard it on the news this afternoon. My daughter is working at her office - of course there are no activities there yet for the public. But they are beginning to gear up for a relaxation of the rules.

How is it that barbers are not essential workers? 🤪😜😛👍

I sure signed an awful lot of paperwork, that's for sure. I decided to put $10,000 down (they let me use my credit card so $100 cash back always helps), total out of pocket, and financed the rest at 0% interest. They gave me a credit of $750 toward the first month's payment - first payment is not due until 8/3/20, or 90 days.

There is no doubt, whatsoever, that the S450 is a marvelous, beautiful and great handling car. The E450 is much less of a car, but I have to get used to it. The seats are a bit stiffer, but I am able to get in and out of the car with ease. They have a new Mercedes "Me Connect" (like onstar) which I am going to have to get familiar with. It shows oil level, engine temp, notifies me if I forget to lock the doors (which it already did today) and will notify me if motion is detected in the car or if someone tries to tow it. It is going to take some time to get used to the new system. But the rest of the buttons, apps, etc., will be a snap because it is almost identical to the S450.

The car has a head-jerking acceleration from a stop - the power curve is phenominal. 362 horsepower with 273 torque coupled with the 4MATIC AWD system. Audio system is the same as the one in the S450 with 2 sub woofers somehow attached to the body to provide true base reproduction.

The inside is very, very light - almost an off-white with black leather trim all around and textured black wood in the doors, console, and dashboard. Ambient lighting gives you the choice of hundreds of color combinations - I chose a deep blue. I will take it out for a spin tomorrow up the turnpike to get a feel for the road. Hope you guys like it.

@Mike, congrats on you new car. I'm catching up on the posts in here; been doing too much work at flip house #2. You should look for some indoor parking for that beauty just in case the repo hook doesn't come looking for that car especially since you probably didn't read all the paper work you mentioned that you signed. Like the saying goes, "the BIG PRINT gives it to you but the little print takes it away".

Good luck with it and don't forget to give us some reports. That is, if the guy with the hook doesn't get it first. :'(
