It’s a lot quicker than I thought it would be. I assume it’s the low end grunt because of the turbo. Faster than my 3.6, but I suspect, at speed, the 3.6 would win out. Losing that engine is my only regret.
These are nice cars…for a Subaru.
It has a lot of tech. Much of it my old Legacy had, but there is new stuff to play with too.
Eyesight is always a fan favorite and, of course, it has the usual Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Departure and Sway Warning (whatever that is), Adaptive Cruise, Reverse Automatic Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 180-degree front View Monitor, and 7 billion airbags.
The 11.6” Nav. screen is huge. The Nappa leather seats are nice. 10-way drivers and 8-way passenger seats is a lot of adjustment for getting it right and never touching it again. Ventilated and heated seats, but the ventilated part creeps me out a little. Dual-zone Auto Climate Control is nice as always. Automatic power folding side mirrors w/ reverse auto tilt down would keep Mrs. jmonroe from knocking the mirror off the car. Moonroof that I will never use. Wireless phone charger is nicer than I thought it would be.
It’s screwed together pretty well. Of course there are only 12 miles on it.
OK wise guy, I’ll send Mrs. j over to check out your full proof mirror thingy.
Nice looking car. Would probably even look good with a whacked mirror.

starting to get more emails from my network of car dealers that have it (I really need to start getting off some of those lists!) because NJ is allowing in person sales again starting tomorrow. that should help business a bit. If people have money and willing to do it (follow Venture's lead?)

Best time in many, many years to get an unbelievable deal on a new car + great financing (0%) with deferred 1st payments up to 120 days.
Great interior. Is that the ‘20 or the ‘21? Are the Subaru dealers cutting prices?
It's a 2020. The '21s aren't out yet.
My dealer usually has a decent amount off of MSRP. With only a little push you can get a car at, or below, invoice. If you have a trade is when the pain starts. It's always a struggle.
Their point this time is that used cars dropped 15%-20% so my trade is worth less. Of course I countered with all their ads about how a Subaru retains value.
@venture — looks beautiful! I love the color combo, which I also have on my Volt. It still looks great 3 years in. Beautiful interior too. Congrats!
Thanks.
I wear jeans almost every day and, as mentioned before, I do groundskeeping at a baseball field 7 days a week (when they are allowed to play). I'll have to keep an eye on whether the blue dye is showing up on the seats and if any of the dust and dirt does anything. That's the main reason I almost always get a black interior.

It is. I was going to pay for it when I picked it up, but decided to use their money for a while. They have 0% for up to 63 months. I gave them $5k and only did 48 months though.
Just by saying the words “Hey, Mercedes,” the system responds with, “What do you need?” It is just like having a personal assistant on board to help along the drive.
I'm surprised it doesn't respond with "jawohl" or more ominously, "nein".
With the talk about speeding, I've mentioned the increase in some much higher speeds with the lower automobile traffic in this area. The state patrol was out, but seemed to be using their many known common areas to sit and monitor, and they didn't seem to mind some higher speed. Used to sit in median in a crossover or perpendicular to the traffic on the right side. It seemed at first it was the Dodge Chargers letting the horses loose to clear the carbon in the engine. Now it's lots of different vehicle types.
But the last few days I'm seeing a change in how our state patrol operates. They are sitting in different areas than before and using some of the masking techniques that other states used in the past, such as sitting in the shade under overpasses on the inside of the traffic lanes where there's a barrier and where they blend in with the concrete supports.

The 2021 Caddies's are going to say "Sure Good Buddy".
The Dodge Charger V-8s have been out in force, without a doubt. I've had several pass me doing 90+.
When those heavy Mopars pass me, I don't think "They should be stopped for speeding." Instead I feel a slight thrill remembering how great it was when I had a Mustang and got a change to safely give it a road tune up. If I were alone again, I might even buy a Mustang to relive those days.
It's weird.. My daily driver for ten years had a top speed of 150, but wasn't that powerful (235 HP), and I can count on one hand the number of times I even broke 100. (and, never 120)
But, my wife leased an Infiniti with 328 HP, and I bet I broke 100 at least 15 times in three years, and it wasn't even my car. Torque is addictive

When you're wearing Jean's and/or doing groundskeeping just place a towel over the seat before you sit on it to protect the seat.

The Volvo hits 100 so fast and smooth it’s scary.
I passed a tractor trailer on a two lane road and hit 105.
The Infiniti is also a beast. The salesman told me to open the one I drove up and it pulled very very nice. Could easily get into trouble with it.

Also keep Lexol on hand. Takes it right off. Stubborn stains can use very light pressure on a Magic Eraser.

Man, life is too short to live with black car interiors. I find they show every speck of dust and dirt.
What does Subaru call the interior color of the one you bought?
The RDX seems sneaky fast too. Last weekend I caught myself sneaking up close to 85 and it was still only around 2k RPMs and really didn’t feel like it was moving fast.

Agreed about black.
Subaru calls it Java Brown. Looks pretty close to the Espresso in my RDX. Nice rich color.

That's the plan...if needed. I hope it isn't, but probably will be. I had a grey leather interior a few years ago and had the problem.
OK Peanut gallery....what’s the worth of my 2018 Acura TLX SH-AWD 3.5L A-Spec. ~40K miles. Clean, always garaged, all service up-to-date (with all the records)? Will need tires in about 5K miles, but no wear bars showing.
No drips, no runs, no errors. Couple of teeny paint chips on the rear bumper and a couple on the front grill area, low enough that they’re tough to see unless you’re looking for them. One door ding on passenger’s door. No metal damage just about a 1” paint scrape.
On a Retail lot, from what I gather is about $30K. Selling privately, I’m thinking $27K-$28K. Am I right, or wrong? If wrong, what’s the number?

It definitely shows dust, but that can be wiped off with a damp towel.

Odd. Same color in the OB touring, but they give it a different name. And that ain’t tan IMO!

Like @stickguy mentioned. I’d run it thru Carvana, Vroom etc and then add in whatever you feel is fair.

My car has that interior. We mostly wear jeans and it looks fine after 3 years. It’s a pretty forgiving color.
OK...thanks. Vroom is at $23,500, Carvana is at $24,300. So, putting my number at $27K.
That's allowing for $1,000 to go to new tires, which is what the OEMs would cost for Michelin Pilot Sport.
I think that's fair for the buyer as well as me. The water still beads up on the paint from the last wax job I did. There aren't even any leather creases on the driver's seat.
