I always figure that once your item stops working, and you probably are going to replace it, might as well just start taking it apart. Worst case, smaller parts to toss. If you get lucky and fix it, lucky break!
Trying to get my media room setup. I'm going through my equipment, seeing what cables I need, taking some measurements and all that good stuff. While I was doing that I unboxed my receiver and subwoofer so I could rock out while doing it.
I hooked it all up and the subwoofer was rattling like crazy. At first I thought maybe it got damaged, but then I remember I have two little kids. I turned it upside down and took the woofer out. I'll let the picture do the rest of the explanation.

I've seen a drastic increase in Ohio State Patrol activity on the interstates. They seem to be using active patrolling where they try to slip up on a speeder or someone committing a driving error. Rarely now do I see them sitting waiting for someone to fall into their laser or radar cone.
Saw several today making the journey to IKEA near GG-land.

I have no idea why, it's not like we give them something like this:
and spend countless hours giving them different shaped blocks and having them put them in similarly shaped holes and then praising them when the object fits in the hole.

I saw a nice looking Infinity yesterday so I checked the reviews, this Edmunds review is pretty blunt; Certain things can get better with age, but the 2021 Infiniti Q50 doesn't happen to be one of them. The last time this luxury sport sedan received a full redesign was 2014. Compared to newer luxury sedans in its class, the Q50 looks and feels out-of-date in almost every way.
To its credit, the Q50 is a stout performer, with a standard 300-horsepower V6 engine and an available 400-hp upgrade in the top Red Sport 400 trim. But even so, the Q50 isn't as enjoyable to drive as the Acura TLX, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and CLA-Class, and Volvo S60. You'll be better off with one of those models, or at least waiting for a Q50 redesign.
I also saw a smart looking Infinity QX50. Nice design, doesn't look boxy but it has nice solid lines. Edmunds gives it 4 stars for some points....especially the interior....but, the actual driving experience does not sound too thrilling; But take a drive and you'll find that all is not well in QX50 Town. Our main complaint centers around the turbocharged four-cylinder engine and its continuously variable automatic transmission. The QX50 is sufficiently powerful when you floor it, but power delivery in typical driving is maddeningly nonlinear. In stop-and-go traffic especially, it'll go from low engine rpm loafing to pin-you-to-the-seat thrust with just a little extra throttle. Then there's real-world fuel economy — which isn't nearly as good as what the EPA estimates it to be — and steering that's overly light and doesn't give you a good sense of the road.
Basically, the QX50 doesn't back up its sporty looks and, if anything, makes the task of driving harder. Be sure to give the QX50 a thorough test drive in varying traffic conditions to make sure you can live with it. At the same time, we recommend checking out other small luxury SUVs that we rate more highly, such as the Acura RDX, the Mercedes-Benz GLC and the Volvo XC60.
.....some reviews actually rave about both these cars.....guess you can't please everyone. At least they improved the front end...made it one of the nicer designs!
I recall back around 2015 I went with my friend for a test drive in a Q50 hybrid. MSRP was within a hair's breadth of 60K. Nice car, but tough at that price. 2015 was a fun year, cool to see that you can re-live it with Infiniti in 2021
We aren't huge online shoppers, so 5+ deliveries a day from Amazon feels crazy for us. I think the fact that we both work for brick and mortar retailers makes us think twice before using Amazon. Having said that, right now it's the only way we are going to get to the finish line.
The furniture has been a huge challenge. We bought a lot from a regional chain, Raymour and Flanigan. They used to advertise Delivery in three days or less ... well Covid changed all that. We ordered everything around Oct 10th or so and won't receive our last delivery until early December. They will end up being here 6 times to get us everything.
I have spent money with them too many times. I hate buying furniture. we could use new family couch/chairs (and definitely a coffee table) but I hate spending that much. So telling the wife we have to live with what he have until we sell the house and move, then dump almost every piece of furniture we have and start over at the new place.
That's what we did. Our furniture was 15 years old and it was time. It also wasn't big enough for the new spaces. We spent major bucks with them and at one point I wasn't happy with their communication on delivery. I spoke to a manager who now updates us regularly.
Having recently moved across the state into a space more than twice the size of my old one, I've bought some furniture, too - wanted a lighter move and the old furniture had seen better days, so I sold it for cheap or gave it away. New bed wasn't difficult, had the new sofa within a week, but other things were nutty. Delivery on the small dining room set was 2 months out (I ended up changing my mind because of that), and I treated myself to a new recliner 3 weeks ago - still a week or two out.
I bought a few build-it-yourself things from Wayfair, all arrived within a week, and were surprisingly good for what they are - I suppose it can serve as IKEA for those of us now a 4-5 hour drive from one. A pair of simple bookshelves from Dania were a surprise - priced almost as cheap as from a big box store, and arrived delivered and assembled - can't complain.
For several other things, I used marketplace and craigslist, and bought quality vintage items for cheaper than new.

We bought a few items from Wayfair as well. Good company to deal with. My wife bought two rugs that she absolutely didn't like and they took them back without issue. We did have to pay shipping, but that's understandable since there was nothing wrong with them.

I’m now a big fan of bed in a box. Cheap and easy! They each got a nice metal platform frame and foam mattress for about $350. Complete. And I like it better than my mattress.

My wife buys from Wayfair a lot. One time she bought me a really nice decanter with glasses. Well the one we got the decanter was broken so they set a whole new set to us and didn't require us to send the old one back. So pretty much got a second set of glasses with the decanter.
We also got a drink cart that I had to assemble, assembly was very easy and the thing is well built. I really like Wayfair.
2011 Hyundai Sonata, 2014 BMW 428i convertible, 2015 Honda CTX700D
I've never bought anything from Wayfair because they seem expensive to compensate for their free shipping, plus when I looked at sofas a couple of years ago they had hundreds of them but many required assembly, which scared me off for the price being asked.

Wayfair is hit or miss. I’ve gotten a few things from there when they come up in google shopping as one of the cheaper options for a particular item. But if I ever intentionally shop on there site, it seems expensive. Guess you gotta stick with the sale/clearance items. Seems to be good for rugs, mostly.

That 3.0L twin turbo is screaming fast for an obsolete car. What do the other brands have that are superior? A different radio knob or better cell phone interface? While a lot of Nissan products haven’t been updated for a while, sometime I think reviewers nit pick to justify their existence.

That sounds like a fancy dinner.
My dinner plans went sideways last night. For about 30 minutes before I left to get take out I heard constant sirens and emergency vehicles rushing down the road. Didn’t think much if it but when I left the house I ran into a kerfuffle on the bridge over the arterial down the road. Seems a couple of tractor trailers had collided and careened across into oncoming traffic. Both drivers trapped in their cabs. A few nit wits in cars came upon stopped arterial traffic and decided to crash instead of bother with the brakes. A fire truck was on the edge of the bridge pumping water from a hydrant down to the scene.
The problem was that a bunch of rubberneckers had parked on the bridge to get a look. They were running in traffic to get the best view. I almost clocked one as he ran blindly in front of me. Traffic detouring from the site started coming up our little road and I had to back up at the next intersection as a big garbage hauler tried to make the sharp turn.
By the time I came back all the lookie loos had gotten their fill and left for better viewing. It was then that I wished I had bought something to drink.

I'm still a little leery of the bed in a box, the potential returns process scares me a bit, I guess. The prices are often good, but I haven't taken that plunge. I look at like buying a car without test driving even a similar model. The new bed is from Mattress Firm, just like the old one (even the mattress itself is just an updated model - but cheaper 2 years later even for a larger size).
Speaking of Wayfair rugs, I also bought a few, as the new place has polished concrete floors, which need some warmth in winter, Two rugs are quirky - one is taking its sweet time to become perfectly flat, and the other I called "skateboard", as it wouldn't grip the floor, and would launch about 3 feet if I stepped on it at speed, eventually I'd end up landing on my head. Some adhesive solved that. Much more selection than anything local, not to mention the prices. The move ended up costing about twice as much as I originally planned, so it's nice to have a few deals on the list.

We just ordered a BIAB, Bear Hybrid mattress. A lot of research was done and it came down to that or a Nest mattress. Most of the BIAB brands offer a 100 day trial, some even longer, so we decided to take a chance.

I recall that early ones got reamed out for the steering. electric PS or drive by wire somehow? Something weird about it that made it drive oddly. But the performance model had normal steering and was much better.

I've been trying to get my hands on a bottle of cask strength Maker's but our local liquor board is clueless about whiskey since I retired and I suspect it may never get up here.

I recall that early ones got reamed out for the steering. electric PS or drive by wire somehow? Something weird about it that made it drive oddly. But the performance model had normal steering and was much better.
