I think so. My interior is black leather seats, dash and side panels but has a beige looking wood finish - Matte Textured Burl Walnut it’s called. Light wood color.

Handsome interior. I like it has hard buttons for hvac and other frequently used controls and doesn’t require you to go thru menus to select.

Dealer called me - they met my requirements for trade in value for my E450 - $56,000. I paid $62,000 a year ago. 1.9% financing for 60 months. 3 years free maintenance and 5 year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. Free car washes.
Leaving now for dealership to finalize everything. Assuming all is to my liking, I will be driving home in a new G90 sedan. Wish me luck.
Excellent! Once again the best negotiation tool turns out to be the door.

That remains to be seen. All I know how to do is step on the accelerator, tap the brake pedal, turn the radio on and change a few stations. I can steer and lock/unlock the car. The rest is a mystery to me. But I do know how to raise and lower the sun screens in the rear back window and the two power shades in the rear doors.
EPA fuel economy numbers are a bit “ouchy” (24,17,20) but since I only drive 6000-6500 miles a year, I am not overly concerned.
Right you are, imidazol!!! I went over to their parts department to see if they have the same kind of sun shield for the front window with the Genesis logo, but they do not. Luckily, my Mercedes Benz sun shield fits almost perfectly. Down here, you've got to have a sun shield. I'll have to make an appointment to have 3M Crystaline tint installed on the windows. The heat from the sun has been a bit overwhelming these past few days. It feels like summer already. Those rear side window power sun shades and the rear window power sun shade will come in hands. But I still have to get a tint done.
@carnaught - you can’t keep us in the dark about your “probable” punch. Give us a hint - I am sure excited about the prospect of you adding a new set of wheels to the Arizona Estate! C’mon, just a hint or two!🤪😜

One thing I like about the BMW is that you can turn on the HVAC vents to circulate outside air into the cabin to cool down the car before you get in. This can be done either through a timer on the car r remotely by an app.

Gold Coast Silver
I thought the gold coast was the other side of the state? They ripped you off!
one thing Hyundai does well (and at least based on the G70, is basically the same with Genesis) is the technology is very user friendly. Generally easy to pick up and use the important stuff too. Especially once you get everything configured the way you want it, won't have to mess around much. In theory.

You couldn't get them to throw in a sun shield? Deal fail!
speaking of XM, got an Email from them that they are trying another slime move. Seems that they are taking the MLB games off the select package, and only offering on the more expensive all-access package. Which is their right, but I have a problem with them doing it in the middle of a plan I already paid for. Seems like bait and switch to me. So I chatted online with an agent. Who as expected, was pretty useless other than confirming what I already knew.
She said that since it hasn't happened yet (starts 4/14 for some reason) she can't do anything about adjusting an account until then So I will be hitting them up again in 2 weeks, badgering to get upgraded for free. Wish me luck!

I cut the Sirius cord about 2 years ago and, after a short time, haven't missed it. Even out here in Hicksville I can find something to listen to.

That’s no different than what the cable companies do. They routinely take their most popular shows and bundle them into a “premium” service at extra cost. It’s a slime move.

I don't hear much Nascar talk on here but yesterday was the make-up date for the rained-out dirt-over-concrete races at Bristol. It seemed to be on most of the day, first the trucks, then the cars after a short intermission. With nothing better to do on a cold windy day outside I had it on a lot of the time. I remain absolutely baffled as to why it was done or what the attraction to it is. There was virtually no grip by anyone and so it was a wreck-fest early on until the drivers figured that part out. Then later on the mud and the dust got out of control and it was constant yellow flags. It really wasn't until the last 20 laps that a handful of cars separated themselves from the mess and were able to sort of compete at half speed. But all in all it was like watching mud dry. Inexplicably, Nascar is proclaiming it a success and announced they will do it again next year. I just don't get it. It seemed more like an old Wide World of Sports demo derby from Islip NY than a race.
I got my fill of dirt track racing at Eldora when I was a teenager. My buddy's uncle was a race car builder and driver.
I went back to the home area 4 or 5 years ago when a church I had attended as a kid had a cruise-in. They had a race car built and labelled as a Dick DeBolt car. I have no idea the model year. Now I wish I'd found who had brought it and a light wrecker. Might have been a relative who had kept the stuff.

Dirt track racing is a different type of racing with a different set of skills. I would think it would be better to watch it when there are drivers who know dirt track racing on a real dirt track. NASCAR drivers who drive all the time on concrete tracks won't do well on a dirt track. Nor would covering a concrete track with dirt truly replicate a dirt track.

And back to owning a Genesis, does Genesis have the reputation of being as much a stickler about service verification for warranty. IOW if you get the wrong date or mileage on a service record, does that invalidate the whole warranty? It's a Hyundai/Kia product, not matter the lipstick.
To me that's the biggest downside of a Genesis. You can look at @graphicguy and his Kia dealer experience with the Stinger as well. You might get a good dealer that treats you in the way a premium motorcar purchaser expects, but you might also get one that treats you the same as an Elantra purchaser.
Agree with you, to a point. Agree that the dealership experience has an effect with how you perceive your car.
Case in point, the only reason I take my Stinger to the purchasing dealer is they threw in 2 years of oil changes at no charge, which was a promotion they were running when I bought it. Worth the hassle of using the dealership? Probably not. But, free is free.
The car itself? It’s been exemplary. I’m coming up on 16K miles on the odo. Aside from the stuff the selling dealer caused, it’s been trouble free. It’s built well. Performs well. Has good, many times premium materials. It drove great, even in the snow we had this year (which was the most we’d had around here for a few years).
Interestingly, took the Stinger in for another oil change a few weeks ago, and saw the service manager I dealt with when I had my Cadillac(s), walking through the Kia waiting area. Found out, he’s the service manager for all 3 dealers that are lined up next to each other....(Nissan, Cadillac, Kia, all in a line).
Given I had my mask on, I don’t think he recognized me.
I don’t know how he’s compensated, but customer satisfaction obviously doesn’t enter into the equation.
Bottom line, I’ve learned to judge a vehicle’s build, reliability, etc on the individual car. That said, the dealerships have much in the way of input on those perceptions.

We must be lucky here in NJ. There are a lot of dealers so big competition and for the most part all have treated me well over the years. Even the local Volvo dealer which has no close competition is really nice to deal with. I didn’t buy my car there, but still gave me a loaner both times I’ve been there.
The dealer group I bought my Buick’s and Hyundai’s from was probably the best. The sales department is meh and certainly swings for the fences (like my $847/month Enclave quote) but service was always top notch.

I seldom get to have any experience with dealer’s after purchase. I’ve never been back to the Kia place even once. The Ford dealer was very accommodating so I had him install the power mods and do a fluid change once out of appreciation. Everything else I have done at my indie shop which is only 3 miles away.
When my son burned a valve on his Sable we took it to the nearby Ford place that gave me the brush off when I was shopping for the Mustang. They were pleasant enough but didn’t fix the issue or even satisfactorily confirm the problem. Our diagnosis of a burnt valve was made through process of elimination.

My son and I are part of the 0.001% of auto racing fans who follow F1, IMSA, and NASCAR. I left work a bit early to catch the Bristol dirt and watch it with my son. We both enjoyed it. To my eye it was much more than a crash-fest. It was interesting to watch how drivers adjusted to the changing conditions- and to watch a driver who wasn’t a dirt track specialist prevail. I applaud NASCAR for trying different things. The Pocono double header is a hoot, and the races at COTA and Road America should be entertaining as well. It breaks up the monotony of watching one mile and a half race after another. Contrast that with F1, which sometimes has fewer lead changes in a season than a couple of Cup races. And then there are the ever-present race stewards often making subjective calls and imposing arbitrary sanctions. I still enjoy watching it, but the continuing domination by one team tamps down my enthusiasm. IMSA is an entirely different form of racing, which I won’t go into.

I took the sonata to Turnersville. Was not really that happy with them. Tended to be slow. I was just used to good service at the Acura store. I took my Elantra to Burns. Actually liked it better there. Plus it’s a bit closer.
The new Acura goes to Maple Shade. At least I finally am using the selling dealer for service. Been a long time since I did that!
Around here, lots of good dealers. I just won’t deal with Kia (either store) or the Chrysler/Jeep/Mitsubishi store. I hate that group. But easy enough, since I want none of their products!

I, too, watch NASCAR and F1. I wasn't able to catch the races yesterday, but did see some recap video. Looks like it was a fun race, and I'll agree with @roadburner that it's good to see them try new things, even if they may not have worked as well as everyone hoped. I'm looking forward to the races at COTA and Road America, as well. Even the oval races, I've learned over the years, have a strategy that isn't always apparent to the casual viewer.
I got into F1 as my employer is both a partner and a vendor to the MB team (our company name is prominently displayed on the chin portion of Hamilton's and Bottas' helmets). I would like to see more parity in F1, and hope that Red Bull can give them a run for their money this season.
I watched the F1 race on Sunday. It seemed like everyone both in the broadcast booth and in the team boxes expected Verstappen to reel in Hamilton quite easily after the final pit stops. I guess they should have told Max that.

And, when they discovered that Max had violated track limits on his last pass, why didn't they accept the inevitable 5 second penalty and hope that he could put that much time between him and Hamilton, rather than give the position back.
Just got my first shot - Moderna flavor. So far, nothing noticeable. Went to the convention center, parked for free in the garage, got in line, had my temp taken, ID checked, another short line to get the shot, then waited 15 minutes and out of there. Felt a little weird sitting in an area with a bunch of strangers for 15 minutes, since I haven't been around a lot of people in just over a year.

I got my 5G chip last Thursday, Pfizer variety. The place was clearly underutilized - I came in and got vaccinated immediately. Small sore in the arm for couple of days, sort of like somebody hit me (not too hard) with a fist knuckle. Only when pressed directly, e.g. with a finger.
Oh, people say I stop mid sentence once in a while for two-three seconds. It must be chip's continuous data upload and download cycles interfering with my mouth interface. But I don't remember anything, the memory resets must be quite effective... I wonder what will Bill Gates do with all that data coming from these chips...

I think they didn't was to risk it turning into 10 seconds, if they classified it not just as exceeding track limits, but tacked on some other supposed violation. FIA referees have full discretion on penalties, you can never know what they come up with.

Yeah, the stewards can be a problem sometimes, seems like the justice is not blind. When it comes to lead changes or passes in general, I prefer F1, as they matter most of the time (unless it's a pit stop lead change), whereas in Nascar or Indy they pass each other all the time, but it's absolutely impossible to tell significance of these passes. Sometimes you can completely forget watching the race in NASCAR or Indy, all you need is last 10 laps, everything that happened before doesn't matter. The thing that infuriated me the most were these late crashes, they spoil the whole thing. How can you lose control on the last straight, I just don't get it...
@abacomike ....hey Mike. Oh man....Beautiful car. Big congrats!
You’re going to like that drivetrain. It’s sweet. You don’t have to spur it to get to extra legal speeds. It likes to run, and sounds good to boot.
MPG should be right around 21 MPG in mixed driving, so not great, but not bad, either. Torquey, too!
Kind of had the feeling you were going to move on from the E sooner rather than later, given your posts here, even after you first bought it.
I’m sure you’ll enjoy the G.
Had the G90 on the Turnpike today. I figured out how to engage the driver assistance nanny systems as well as the autonomous cruise control system. Car handles more like an S Class Mercedes, but a bit tamer and much quieter. Very powerful acceleration.
I noticed this morning that even though my seats, dashboard and side panels are black, the A, B and C pillars and interior roof are beige which brightens the interior.
I know I have park assist somewhere in the myriad of systems, but I will have to learn how to access it. Just setting up my heads up display took me 30 minutes. This car’s systems are not as easy to learn how to operate as the Mercedes was. But I am patient.
Took it in for a car wash at the dealership this morning - took them 10 minutes. This Genesis dealership is not stand alone from the Hyundai dealership - just separate showrooms with parts and service in the middle.
Got 27.5 mpg on the Turnpike today which isn’t bad considering the car is brand new and weighs 4700 pounds.
Sometimes you can completely forget watching the race in NASCAR or Indy, all you need is last 10 laps, everything that happened before doesn't matter.
I happened to catch the last 10 laps or so of the truck race yesterday, and I agree. I'll admit to fast forwarding through the recording on some races (next week at Martinsville will be a good example).
Got my first shot yesterday - was expecting Moderna, but was told they got Pfizer instead. No matter to me, was a well run site and was in and out in about 20 minutes, 15 of which were me sitting on a folding chair waiting to see if I would get a reaction.

EPA fuel economy numbers are a bit “ouchy” (24,17,20) but since I only drive 6000-6500 miles a year, I am not overly concerned.

My buddy's uncle was a race car builder and driver.
I went back to the home area 4 or 5 years ago when a church I had attended
as a kid had a cruise-in. They had a race car built and labelled as a Dick DeBolt
car. I have no idea the model year. Now I wish I'd found who had brought it
and a light wrecker. Might have been a relative who had kept the stuff.

The dealer group I bought my Buick’s and Hyundai’s from was probably the best. The sales department is meh and certainly swings for the fences (like my $847/month Enclave quote) but service was always top notch.

Did you have your Sonata serviced there or in Turnersville?

When my son burned a valve on his Sable we took it to the nearby Ford place that gave me the brush off when I was shopping for the Mustang. They were pleasant enough but didn’t fix the issue or even satisfactorily confirm the problem. Our diagnosis of a burnt valve was made through process of elimination.

I got into F1 as my employer is both a partner and a vendor to the MB team (our company name is prominently displayed on the chin portion of Hamilton's and Bottas' helmets). I would like to see more parity in F1, and hope that Red Bull can give them a run for their money this season.

Oh, people say I stop mid sentence once in a while for two-three seconds. It must be chip's continuous data upload and download cycles interfering with my mouth interface. But I don't remember anything, the memory resets must be quite effective...
