I’ve never been a big fan of pickups but I spotted this mild custom today and I really liked it. You can’t really tell from this picture but the paint had a beautiful pearlescent finish.

I’ve been a Mets fan ever since the Expos left Montreal. Been a MLB TV subscriber since 2007 so I’ve seen a lot of games from Shea and now Citi. When the new stadium was under construction and in the first couple of years it was open I saw a few articles about how parts of the surrounding area were really awful, with lots of sketchy car repair places and the like. But I never bothered to check out what the rest of Flushing was like until recently thanks to Street View. I was surprised that there is a big Chinatown area there and that there has been some redevelopment recently with new hotels and the like mixed in with the grittier parts. All that big-city hustle and bustle would be a bit much for someone from sleepy Nova Scotia!

If it happens, going to game 4 of the Yankees/Guardians series next Sunday.
Saturday after that, going to South Bend to see ND vs UNLV football game.
Saturday after that, going to East Hartford to see UConn vs Boston College football game.

There is no team I dislike more than the Blue Jays. That is mostly due to their ownership by Rogers and how their games and team coverage dominate Rogers Sportsnet. If they were produced competently that would perhaps not be the case, but having the worst, most slanted announcers in MLB I find them impossible to watch. The rest of their presentation is equally bad with awful music that has not changed in decades and talking heads that only try to defend every bad move.

Needless to say I quite enjoyed their collapse on Saturday, as it took my mind off the Mets similarly disgraceful performance.

I had confidence the Phils had a good shot if they did it in 2 games. The other 3 series I was sure would have gone the other way. The Mets loss, as much as it pleases me, was the most shocking of the sports weekend.

Giants beating the Packers was a close 2nd.

Two are for the morning docket and one is for the afternoon. I’ve had as many as three in the morning and two in the afternoon.

I’ve never leased a car so I don’t know what exactly happens when you buy out your lease. However, what this dealer did sounds downright illegal.

Doc fees I assume. Like any other used car.

In NY, from when I helped my dad do it, it really was just buying a car from the dealer, just at a fixed price. The rest was the same.

NJ was much better. You actually bought it directly from the finance company. Just had to send them a check for buyout or residual and sales tax (I think tax). Then go to DMV and register it yourself.

I think you should have an option to do it either way especially if the dealer starts to tag on high admin and other misc. fees. An advantage of buying thru the dealer, they may give you the option to factory certify or factory extend the warranty if desired.

State rules. Nissan finance wasn’t allowed to do it. I think NJ was actually the oddball for this.

The dealer is really just doing DMV paperwork and collecting the sales tax. They never even touched the car. And certainly could have financed if desired.

But absolutely can’t change the price or add stuff to it (including dealer prep)

Depending on the state, and your contract, they can add dealer prep. Or at least try to.

I haven't leased a car for many decades, but I never had a problem. My 1995 Jeep was a 30 month lease and when it ended I didn't have a big enough income to lease a new one....the business was also in it's 30th month, so they leased me the Jeep for 2 more years at a much lower rate, and like the guy said, I went back and leased my next JEEP from that dealer.

But after watching the video, that happened in Florida and I don't have a lot of trust for Florida car dealers, though our VW dealer was pretty honest and Auto Nation in Sarasota seems to be pretty honest, though few bargains.

Boy, today was one of those great northeast bonus days. Warm and sunny in the 70s. I spent the morning clearing brush out of my woods. The IPad camera doesn’t do the colors justice.



The afternoon I kept looking for errands to do so I could take the convertible out for probably the last time this year.

That’s the remains of one of my greenhouses. It was finally destroyed in a WINTER storm and I haven’t picked up all the pieces.

Ah, sorry to hear that. It is hard enough farming the land, but then there are things you can't control...lots of them!

Yesterday marked 27 years since my Club Sport rolled off the Munich assembly line. My only to-do list is to replace the speakers- all but the rear speakers will come from Bavsound. Aside from that I'm ready to drive it for another 27 years...

Now, a new salary structure will be put into place once the new budgets are released for 2023.
