I don't know about you but the big $20 on the bill would give it away.

That Being said I did notice that the different denominations in Europe were different sizes.

Yes, but when all of the denominations are the same shade of green it is much easier to make a mistake....especially when you become an old senior.

“This is so out of our hands,” says Ms. Shrake. “We cannot do anything about it without paper. This is like making a cake without eggs.”

So the government can't make a temporary document that can be converted over once they have the paper back in stock? The world has to stop until they get the right paper. To be extra safe they could stamp it or use some kind of seal........just have a good system to verify they are legit.

Think about how easy it would be to forge this "temporary" document. Why do you think governments spend millions of dollars on technology to make paper money hard to counterfeit? It's just ink on paper, right?
Wrong, it's ink on cotton and linen.

Ok I picked my nit for the day.
Well to really nit Canadian dollar bills are Polymer and last at least 2.5 times longer than cotton-paper notes, saving money in processing and replacement costs. These notes combine transparency and holography to make for one-of-a-kind currency. That is a hologram along the right side.

I was at a grocery store a little while ago and noticed they had Stacy's Mom beer. That always amused me because my daughter's name is Stacy.

On the way home the song "Stacy's Mom Has Got It Goin On" came on the radio.

I went on Zillow to look at some homes in another town, and we got a message on our answering machine every day for a week, from a mortgage company - a real friendly sounding guy who wanted to talk to us about offering us a mortgage. I am pretty sure I didn't leave a phone number.

Speaking about Zillow, one of my tennis friends here was a realtor and he had a nice side business buying up homes, fixing them up and selling them.

It worked until Zillow moved in, offered $5000 more for houses on the market, bought them, cleaned them up, and then rented them out or resold them, which raised the prices.

I think the last Fetcher class ships were decommissioned in the early 70's with some serving in other navies up to the 90's. So someone 69 or 70 could have served on a Fetcher class ship.

Alibaba has close ties to the CCP like TicToc. If you have no qualms about doing business with a ruthless dictatorship they probably provide service equal to any other Chinese manufacturer. Just remember what happened to Jack Ma before you complain about products or service.

OK, drawing on my vast knowledge of, well everything, I’m making a bold prediction that the market will have a sharp decline early next year and will have a steady rise in the third quarter.

Bookmark this prediction and see how I did next October.

Yes. Nice rates. I'm familiar with Vanguard though and they are at 3.5%.

that reminds me, I have money in a Vanguard money market account. I should probably check to see that it is actually paying some interest now! though that might depress me seeing what the total balance over there is now, so maybe I will just go back to ignoring it.

Ally just upped their rate on savings accounts to 3.3%. Will be interested to see if Vanguard ups their rate.

Biggest difference I have seen in a while between the Marathon RFG monopoly and others. Costco this morning was $2.599 for RUG and 3.259 for premium, while most others are 3.299-3.349 for regular which recently means at least $3.89 for premium. Cheapest I have seen in the metro for name brand is still $3.159, while Marathon in Frankfort (40 miles east, pretty sure it’s not reformulated) was $2.799 the other day.

BJs continues to be less expensive for PUG than Costco; not sure if that is one of the signs of the apocalypse.
Two of my three online accounts are now paying over 4% on savings: SalemFiveDirect and MySavingsDirect (Emigrant Savings).
Caveat for S5Direct: when rates go up (usually on Wednesday, you must contact them to have your account rate raised. Of course, when rates go down, no call required, they'll lower your rate automatically!). And, as a MA bank, the S5 account saves me a (very, very) few $ at MA state tax time.

In the beginning you can see that the right front wheel is messed up. It looks like more than a flat tire. (Maybe that was his second attempt).

Unless there is more we haven’t seen, he should be able to part out the tailgate.

probably riding pretty low in the back! but that would have been a perfect job for a Maverick.

I bought a cargo net for mine (a bungie cord arrangement you can throw over the top of stuff to keep it from flying out). Giving it to my wife for Christmas. I know she will be thrilled!

just curious: has anyone ever bought something using Alibaba?
I'm about to buy a 2-post lift. Fingers crossed. I made sure to use a verified seller, and this one has an 8-yr history. Trick is I have to pick it up at port like the cars I buy. Good thing I'm used to the process now. Good luck to me getting it in the van, though!

I’ve bought a few things from alibaba although nothing large enough that I had to go pick it up. Everything arrived in good shape on my front porch.

The vendors do seem to send you emails forever though - especially the ones that you just get a quote from and don’t buy from…

They do have some sort of buyers protection too

It was squating a bit but not bad. It rode surprisingly well, very smooth, no pumping up and down or bottoming, it just glided along. We are only about 10 minutes from Lowes. I have a cargo net for all our vehicles. Very handy to have. If you’ll notice the two gray straps hanging down in the trunk, pull those down and they are hooks to hang grocery bags.

You can go broke buying fire wood like that. I buy a pack like that every year to split into wood strips to create a flame on my gas grill to cook my rib eye steaks.

I’m surprised at this time of the year you have enough free time to play in the sand box. :o

Here is another vehicle doing something it really wasn’t designed for. Those were 12 footers.
