I find that I spend a lot of time with novice students teaching them how to properly hold the wheel. It's amazing how little some students know.

I would say the best way is very carefully and with some good thick gloves.

That could very well be the cutting edge of wheel technology.

I'm guessing it's a wrap since I haven't seen that color on a Miata before.

You are correct. Surprisingly, they have not offered any green color since 2008.

Whenever I see a car wrapped I assume it’s covering up something bad like blasted clear coat or a bad Bondo job. I suppose some could just be because the owner wanted a change but the not knowing would eat at me.

I had an interesting inter-generational experience just now.

A few days ago I went shopping and after I got home I discovered that I had not scanned a 99 cent can of mushrooms at checkout. So today I went over to the service counter to pay and asked if there was sales tax on them so I could give the correct payment.

The kid looked at me like I had asked for the formula for turning lead into gold and muttered “I…I…don’t know”. When he continued to stare I asked if he could find out. He wandered off and after a few minutes another kid comes back with him and says “what?”. Finally they consulted with a third employee and came back with the answer “no, no tax”.

I explained how I had accidentally taken the mushrooms without paying and handed them a buck. The incredulous look on their faces told me that an honest person was something outside of their experience.

Or maybe they just thought I was a crazy old coot giving them money for imaginary shopping.

That’s why I get rib eyes (no bones). When they’re eaten the evidence is gone.

BTW, I never told the IRS I was broke. They’re still trying to figure out what my income is and if my deductions line up with that.

I've been living here in my condo that my Dad left me since 2000. Each year at this time (Spring) there is a kind of huge olive tree that drips sap and ugly looking reddish/brown junk all over the hood of my car. This is the major reason I had several ceramic sealants applied to my G90's finish - to protect the paint from that junk that drops down from that darn tree as well as the turds the birds drop from their nesting areas in that same tree.

I've requested that the grounds department trim back the tree, but to no avail. But not all hope is gone! One of my elderly neighbors down the hall from me is no longer driving a car (she just turned 88). Thus, she does not use her parking spot which is four spaces down from where I park and is not under or near any trees. So I knocked on her door this morning and asked if she would mind if I parked in her space. She said that I could - but that she would let me know if her daughter will allow her to buy a car to drive and might need her parking space back. I agreed. Yeah!!!!!

But I remember that when she was driving, she had a Lexus RX350 which was always parked diagonally in her space due to her limited vision. It would seem that her daughter returned the lease to the Lexus dealer but won't let her mother drive any more for obvious reasons. I am lucky that she is allowing me to use her assigned spot.

The G90 turned 2 years old today. The odometer reads 13,100 miles. That's about 6,500 miles per year. I remember that I used to drive about 15,000 miles a year way back when...! Now, all I do is drive up to Boca Raton to meet my friends - we have lunch together once a week - and then return home. With my bad back, I have not driven up to my brother's in Ponte Vedra in several years. I'm hoping I will be able to see him before one of us passes on, but at least we check in with each other on "FaceTime" on our Apple phones so we can at least see one another.

I don't see me getting another car. The G90 is going to have to last me until I no loner can drive. It has a new car warranty for 5 years, 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. If I still have the car in 3 more years, I will have to decide whether I want to extend the warranty. With so many nanny features on this car, I sure would need some warranty protection if I still own the car by then.

So far, after two years of ownership, it rides and handles great. I turn 79 years old in October, so whether or not I will be driving at 81 or 82 years of age remains to be seen.

Analysis: So even they admit changing the speed limit had ZERO positive effect on residential roads. The IIHS admitting the speed limit could be 150 MPH, 100 MPH, or 1 MPH, and it would make a hill-a-beans difference one iota any which way or the other, sort of proving and supporting the NMA (National Motorist Association) position along with my position that arbitrary speed limits don't work.

You can get out of some leases depending on the finance company and if the vehicle is worth more than the payoff (or you chose to pay the delta).

Saw a neat-looking RAM truck this evening. The letters R A M on the front were
    lights. They looked great!

A few weeks ago I saw a Buick LaCrosse that had a lighted circle in the grill
with the Buick TriShield in it. I hadn't seen one of those before either. It reminded
me of MB's lighten grill embles. I didn't like it.
