Wow the Cotton Bowl was hard to watch. Starting OSU QB transferred to Syracuse and Harrison Jr was not playing due to NFL aspirations. Difficult situation for Ryan Day for sure but the OSU OL was a no show and their second and third string QBs didn’t have a chance.

Seems odd when FSU was overlooked due to their starting QB injury but I guess the OSU situation occurred after they had been “selected” for the Cotton Bowl.

That Clemson and UK game was hard to watch too. Eventually UK wanted to lose more than Clemson wanted to lose😳

But here at IU we have a new coach again and surely we will be better next year - how many times have I said that?😂

IU's best coach was my wife's cousin. But, two years at IU gave him a brain tumor, and he died. :/

Fortunately, I was out shopping with my wife, and didn't have to watch the 4th quarter of UK/Clemson. That might have killed me.

Heppner was on track to make it much better. So sad. Then his daughter in the bus vs car accident was yet another sad situation. She had gone to Naples with my wife to decorate our house.

Now my German is a little rusty but "volk" means "people" (pronounced "folk" and is how we get that word) but I don't think "no" is a German word unless some Germans do, at times, use it for no. So does that plate say "no people"?

If you get to Maui, Haleakala is impressive too. Not quite as tall but still high enough that the carbureted rental car was struggling to get to the top and any exertion made you light headed.

    @oldfarmer50,
My kids went back to Mauna Loa the next day to hike inside the rim.
It was about 100 miles from where we were staying and about a 2 1/2 hour ride.
We couldn't all go because the grandkids couldn't do that type of hike.

Spent 6 days on Maui after the Big Island but we just stayed in the Kihei/Wailea area.
Went to the beach or pool plus did a Luau, aquarium visit and Whale Watch tour.
The other adults also did a Manta Ray tour one night.
Weather was not good up higher while we were on Maui but sea level was great.

Got fuel at Costco, what a zoo, and ate at a Chick Fil A for the first time.
The food was very tasty and reasonably priced.

I was "the guy" again today remotely. daughter in Boston was trying to fix a floppy shower curtain rod, and sent me a video and some questions. Figured out pretty quickly that the rod holder was loose on the bracket and needed the screw tightened. From what she said that looked like a small allan head screw. and her only allen key was too big. So I mentioned a kit, and 10 minutes later saw a big kit being ordered off our shared prime account.

told her we needed to go shopping for a good assortment of tools for a toolbox for her. she was very excited about that!

her longer (a year or so) plan is to buy a fixer upper out here near us, and get me to retire and help her fix the place up. I am up for that plan!

According to my Genesis Connect App, my battery is charged to only 63% - it's usually a little above 70%, which would allow more flexibility in Economy mode to improve fuel economy. So I drove the G90 up the Turnpike for about 30 miles at about 70 mph and returned to my condo, putting on about 70 miles at highway speeds. I then opened the App and it still showed 63%. So in order to charge the battery to a level that is appropriate, I will have to drive the car up to Palm Beach and then back which would be about 100 miles round-trip at highway speeds. That should give the battery a good charge. I might even go down to West Miami and visit my mother and grandmother's gravesites which would put on another 100 miles.

I just don't drive the car enough - mostly short trips of about 5 miles one-way for shopping and about 25 miles round-trip to the shopping mall to walk with my friends. Just not enough opportunity for the battery to get a nice charge. I might have to bring the car in for an overnight trickle charge in order to maintain the integrity of the battery. I just wish I had access to electricity down in the parking lot to trickle charge the car's battery.

I saw that the score in the Cowboys vs Lions game was 20 to 19 I decided to watch the highlights of the game to see how they got that score. It was a good game judging by the highlights.

But, I saw ads for 2 different heating devices that will save me huge amounts of money. One was made by an ex-NASA engineer, and one by a student who worked on a project. Compelling stories.

I don't need a heater but how many new heater devices do we need, and do these actually work. If they did work wouldn't you be able to buy on at Walmart or Costco....and not online?

just like they get gas. People don't have gas pumps on their house. Someone retired that probably drives 100-200 miles per week tops, would go to a charging station once every week or 2, and spend 1/2 an hour charging while they shopped or had lunch or dinner out.

EVs don't have to be charged every day. If I had one as our 2nd car I might end up charging it once a month at this point.

When we had the ID.4 on order, we figured it would need to be charged roughly once a week for the driving the girls do (22 miles round trip to the studio, max 6 days a week in the summer, plus another 10-30 miles in miscellaneous errands).

So how are we all supposed to buy them if you have to go to a charging station, wait for 30 to 50 minutes to charge, after driving for 200 miles? I guess most retired people have the time to wait 30 to 50 minutes a few times a month. I go about 150 to 200 miles a week, and buy gas maybe once every two weeks....I have a choice of about 5 to 8 gas stations I can stop at on my way to or from wherever I am coming from, I can get gas in about 6 minutes.....not out of my way, no waiting around, no temptation to buy a pizza slice, I can get a car wash at 4 of the stations after filling up.

you ever go out to lunch? Go to the supermarket? Shop for anything? People with an EV that don't charge at home simply combine charging with some activity where they are going to be parked for a half hour or so.

Actually, assuming you do any of those routine activities, it SAVES YOU TIME since you no longer have to add in stops at the gas station. And you don't get your hands smelly with gas.

So you should get an EV and can devote more time to pickleball (and there is a real chance that there will be charging options near a lot of recreation places so you can charge up while doing that).

People always say you can get something to eat while you are charging your car. I try to avoid eating unnecessarily as I don't need that much food....especially the fast food type. And, money saved on gas will be spent on food I don't need.

I have seen chargers at hockey rinks and at some public places, but I haven't seen them at any rec centers in Florida or at home in Ontario.

The only shopping we do at actual stores these days is grocery shopping, and if they have them at Publix I haven't seen them.

I don't want to plan my time around trying to tie in a charge with what I am doing. But, I can understand how for some people it could make sense.

We have them at some store and shopping areas but it does bring up some issues. First is as EV's become more popular it's going to be harder to find an empty one. Secondly from what I know about the batteries that type of charging may degrade the batteries faster. And as you say I rather not have to consider recharging options when I go out shopping or eating or what not.

Well, Philly didn’t hold up their end of the deal. I consider their season over at this point. The defense is the worst it has been in decades.

The thing that’s going to kill EV’s is when they figure out how to put electrons in gasoline.
