Well, CT-Scan came back showing no difference from the one thy did in October. That's good. Blood tests were not indicative of an infection or anything serious.
They are considering keeping me overnight and hopefully letting me go home with pain meds. They do not know what is causing the severe pain.
Lil Darling, then and now. Same retired teacher sent my wife this great twin video page. The Diamonds from 1957 and 2004. If you don't remember 1957, this may not impress you, but the group still has "It."
Many of the groups brought back on public TV for fundraisers have to have the octave changed for certain parts, this group still sounds much the same.
Tom Hanks' father is the lead singer on the left.
Hope this will brighten up Abaco's morning along with the morning for many others of my generation here.

I realize that the whole Lemon Cadillac story has probably been discussed and debated ad nauseum in this forum. But, I think people who have issues with such a large purchase have no idea what a company like Cadillac forces owners to go through.
If anyone is reading in a similar situation, I hope some of the daunting process is made less threatening and perhaps easier to to understand by reading about it here.
It's a long process, with many, sometimes threatening steps, all for one purpose....TO DISSUADE YOU from going toe to toe with them over their cars which don't perform, or provide everything promised.
Most states have very specific laws protecting the consumer from Cadillac's efforts to block going up against them. The only way to get them to take note of their products' shortcomings in engineering, assembly, design, customer service, is to not be afraid to hold their feet to the fire.
Know that it makes no difference regarding the validity of their denials, they deny everything. And, that we should just fold because they said so.
They are wrong in my case. I will take this as far as I can, for as long as I can. Cadillac does not scare me, and can't intimidate me.
Anyone else going through anything similar, whether they comment here or not, I'd be more than happy to offer assistance, if you reach out.
I can't speak for any other manufacturer, or any other division of GM....just Cadillac! Generally speaking, any other manufacturer and any other geographic location should have similar types of a process to get the manufacturer to hold up their end.

Ugh. Sorry to hear, Mike. Nothing is more frustrating than hearing "everything looks normal" when you are in pain.
So true. You're happy to hear there's no problem, but then why am I hurting like this? Hope it gets sorted out real soon. Hang in there.
Last week I had a big scare - an acute ischemic stroke. They have not pinned down the cause, but there are several risk factors including: hypertension, weight, sedentary lifestyle and a lousy 95 LDL cholesterol value.
It started with numbness on my cheek then it gradually moved down my left arm and fingers. Thank God it did NOT affect my speech or mobility.
Tomorrow I go in for an eolectrogram and I may have to wear a heart monitor for 30 days to rule out Afib as the cause of the stroke.
Other than a few anxious moments I feel fine. And I don't look forward to a lifetime of statins, diet and exercise.
I wish you well on this. I have yet to have a medical scare but I can imagine how sobering they can be.
I take pills for blood pressure and cholesterol and I wish I could get off them. Despite watching my diet, fast walking at least a half hour a day and dropping all booze, the dam numbers don't seem to drop which id frustrating. Listen to your doctor!
Well, Sears is just about gone as an Icon in Americana. They can no longer do business after another huge loss last year - over $2 billion in total losses. So I would imagine they will be selling off properties and merchandise pretty soon.
What an awful shame. Stores like Walmart, Target, Costco, Sam's Club and the like was Sears's Achilles Heel. When I think back on the days when I owned houses, my first stop when shopping was Sears - hoses, tools, mowers, appliances, carpeting and bedding - always shopped Sears first.
When Sears purchased K-Mart, I think it was the straw that broke the camel's back. Sayonara, Sears, it's been an honor to shop with you!
As a former Sears employee and Division Manager this makes my heart ache. I was there during the Glory Years when they were on top of their game. I was so proud to work for such a well run company. Our store gleamed! Everything was spotless and our customers were treated like royality.
Slowly Sears died....some injuries self inflected and others not. Miserable competition, Amazon and business in general killed off a once mighty company! So, are the stores closed now?
Well I get to start up my '66 Triumph motorcycle for the first time tomorrow..we got spark, we got fuel, (pure-gas from an outlet in San Jose), we got compression---so we'll see if we have lift off.
Once she runs for a few minutes, I'll shut it down and tighten everything up. I still need a few little pieces before any road test. Bike looks GREAT!
Just remember, the brake is on the "wrong" side compared to other bikes.
I found out one night years ago what a Royal Enfield was. I was in a 1954 Chevy driving in a quiet residential neighborhood. I stopped at a stop sign, saw nothing coming and proceeded. alas, there WAS something coming...a Royal Enfield sans headlight with two guys on it! The driver hit the gear shifter instead of the brake and broadsided me! no bad injuries but a whole lot of bad language from the rider who swore I hadn't stopped. Luckily the cops were able to determine the headlight wasn't on!

Exactly why I've stayed out of this. It's not that I don't care. I do. I just don't have anything constructive to add.
This has been a nightmare like no other that I've ever heard of and I hope you can get this over with once and for all!
I find the synethic to be just as durable if not more so than a natural wax, much easier to use, and for a quality product, no more expensive. With clearcoat paint, the results look the same to me. I also don't mind the maintenance, as it is somewhat relaxing in the way lawn maintenance is for some people, and I get to find any new flaws on the car (I'll also be doing a little paint correction the next time I wax it, as this winter has been hard on my darkish colored car - I see some fine scratches especially on the side cladding).
I am interested in how the Klasse will work. If it provides good results on the fintail, I might use it more often - looks very easy to use anyway.

What a way to spend a Sunday. Good luck! Think positive, that will help - no doubt it has helped you already. You'll be back toying with the gesture control in the new car before you know it.
They decided to admit me - lots of tests - liquid diet - pain killers, etc. I wouldn't mind the liquid diet if FedEx delivered the "liquid" from Kentucky or Tennessee- but broth and apple juice are not my favorite "cups of tea", if you get my drift!

I don't think so. I got a washer and dryer from them last July anyway. But they would not drop their exorbitant delivery fees for the dishwasher so I got that at Best Buy.
Sears isn't dead quite yet. They are sitting with a pretty large cash hold, but also huge amounts of debt. If they don't figure something out soon, they could be facing bankruptcy again and maybe not get out this time. One of the articles I read said they sold the Craftsman name to Stanley (Black and Decker) for 900 million with royalty fees for the next 15 years.
I bought all my kitchen appliances from them about 6 years ago and had great service, but haven't even walked into a store in quite some time. I have ordered from their parts outlet which if you have any of their appliances is great (they stock everything).
Mike, sending good thoughts your way that the pain will subside and you will be back to normal. Pain is something that grinds on your mind and gives you no peace. I hope they are controlling it. We're all rooting for you to get back home and into that uber-BMW.
Imagine a world where your dream car is smaller than Ford Festiva with engine half size and third power, it costs equivalent of five-year pay, and the waitlist is around ten years. The options don't exist (essentially), once the government decides it's your turn, you take color that they give you. When something goes wrong, you never go to claim warranty, cause you may end up with half you your parts swapped for old ones. That was a world I grew up. Fotunately it ended when I was nineteen. I literally finished high school in communis country enslaved by Russia and started college in a new born free country that started its lighting-speed transformation. Two years later I entered a grocery store wanting to buy a few ounces of candy. I walked out without it, as choice of thirty plus flavors overwhelmed me.
Craig....I remember SEARS glory years, too. The one closest to me is still open, but last time I was in it (quite a long time ago), you could do a 10K in it and not see another person all the while.
Used to buy nothing but Craftsman mowers, tools, Kenmore appliances, Diehard batteries, etc. Can't remember the last time I bought anything from Sears. There's nothing they have today that I would consider worth me pulling out my wallet. Everything I've read about their current CEO has not been very flattering, though.
I appreciate your thoughts. But, my beef isn't with the dealership. They've done exactly what Cadillac told them to do. They've been cordial throughout. You worked for a brand that's known for their great engineering and build, as well as their reliability. Plus, I recall you saying you worked for a family dealership, which you enjoyed. You are, as you should be, rightfully proud of the time you spent with Honda. They build great vehicles. Matter of fact, I came within a whisker of buying the Accord Touring instead of the Infiniti. It's a great car.
Fin....I used to be a wax snob. I did step upon step upon step every other month detailing my car(s). Wash with Dawn to remove old wax and road grime. Clay bar the finish. Wash again. Wax with a synthetic. Follow up with a gloss enhancer.
These days, either paint is better, or there isn't much difference in the fastidiusness of my car care and today, but there isn't a whole lot of difference between now (2X wax/year) and then in the finish of my vehicles.
I think being out of the elements and in the garage for storage does more for the finish on my vehicles than anything else. If there are bird droppings or tree sap on the finish, I address those things immediately. Aside from that. The cars get a wash when they're dirty, which isn't often being stored indoors.
Let us know what you think of Klasse.
Mike.....I think you should drink MORE bourbon, not less. I bet it will make you feel better.
I think paint has improved greatly. When I take my old car in for its yearly repair, sometimes it sits outside for a week or so if there's an issue. When I come to collect it, it can look like a barnfind - the grime sticks to it like a magnet, and the paint seems oxidized. A modern car can be outside for a week and look like new with a simple wash. I sometimes debate whether waxing the modern car is even worth it, as the spray products make it shine like new. But, I don't mind the work, and the normal liquid wax is more durable, so I keep up the tradition. No doubt, garaging a car helps a lot too, especially in harsh environments.
I might clay once a year, or when I buy a car, but that's it. For my latest car, I instructed the dealer not to detail it at all (leftover car, it had sat outside for maybe 9-10 months) - I clayed it myself and did it all to make sure it was done right. I didn't mind.

OK guys since we are at the start of the car waxing season, to save your arms try this http://www.harborfreight.com/10-in-random-orbital-polisher-61898.html or an equivalent. I have the Sears version that I bought back in the 70's that is pretty much like this one but since Sears is gone now you can't get one like I have.
I bought one of these a few years ago for each of my sons. Not because I'm a great father but kinda like self defense because I was tired of them borrowing mine and I was afraid it would burn up from too much use. Both of them said it worked just as well and since both of them had used mine many times they should know. Get several terry cloth or micro fiber bonnets and your good for many happy wax jobs. Just change them often when they load up with the rubbed off wax. I also use it to apply the wax. It's a slow speed random obit unit so there is no chance of burning the paint with the wet wax or even mild cleaners prior to waxing.
While you are at it, get the pneumatic adjustable roller seat shown in the lower box (far right) of the link page. I've said this before, I wouldn't even think of doing a wax job anymore without this roller seat. It saves the back when doing the sides, clear down to the rocker panels. Even makes waxing fun. Just be careful, as you scoot around, not to run into the extension cord. Quick stops, just like while driving your car, can be harmful.
Just thought I'd pass along a fun tip for the upcoming waxing season and just in time for most of you guys except @stickguy who jumped the gun and couldn't wait to show off his handy work to Mrs. Stick.

This is waaay too coincidental. Just this morning I was watching a PBS DVD disk I recorded from a few years ago that had the Diamonds performing Little Darling among other performers doing their oldies.
I never knew the lead singer was Tom Hanks father. I did know, from watching another PBS oldies show, that he was a backup singer for the Four Preps (26 Miles (Santa Catalina) fame).
This was smack dap in the middle of my youth. Thanks for the link.

I now know how you guys keep your cars so beautiful and gleaming from grille to tailpipes. Me? I drive to the Macy's parking garage at Boca Town Center Mall where I hand the key to my car to Jesus along with $50.00 and 2 hours later and a "voila" or two, my 740Li is beautiful and gleaming, just like your cars. He uses Maguair's products.
The car is first hand washed, dried and then he applies the wax. All of the applications are done by hand - no machines or buffers.
$50.00 for full interior/exterior wash and then hand waxed, tires cleaned and gleamed. I usually give him a $7.50 tip. For just a wash, it's $20.00.
I usually get a bit sweated up reaching for my wallet and handing him the money and thinking about how hard I worked to get the car washed and/or waxed, but I love my car and am willing to do whatever it takes to keep it "up to snuff" so to speak. But it's worth every drop of sweat I excrete on behalf of my secret lover!
Took you a long time to show up today JM, especially since they were talking about your favorite topic.
I thought dinner did you in........and you should have listened to me
I showed up late because I was watching that old PBS oldies DVD I mentioned in an earlier post.
Dinner was pretty good and so was the sight I saw on my way to the restaurant. You gotta stick around for this:
I'm sitting in the left turn lane waiting for the left turn arrow to turn green. My lane gets the green arrow as soon as the traffic perpendicular to it from the right has their turn making their left turn. A guy driving a 3 wheeled motor cycle, with a built in from the factory cart, on the rear, has a big German Shepherd sitting on this cart with it's front paws over the riders shoulders. I am looking in disbelief as he is coming towards me in his lane to my left. The dog seems to be enjoying itself and doesn't seem to have any problems holding onto the driver but I doubt that this is legal. Mrs. j sees this too and is almost laughing hysterically. I've never seen anything like this before.
I do question the rider but that dog was big and beautiful. Had the same coloring as the old Rin Tin Tin Shepherd I remember from back in the day (black/tan with black saddle and tan paws). That is my favorite coloring for a German Shepherd. Sure would have been nice to get a pic of that. Did I say that dog was beautiful?
Now you can go find something like this on the internet but I doubt you'll find a more beautiful German Shepherd than that one.

It'd be cool if tech would advance to the point where there was a quality durable rechargeable orbital buffer. Not everyone has access to plug ins - I would have run a hilariously long cord to my garage space to use one.
Was at Sears at the Coral Square Mall, Mike will know exactly where this is, and bought some cargo shorts on sale. Store was pretty empty and was hard to find a cashier. Finally did and waited behind two other folks. Guy in front of me decides to open a credit card to save 30% on his order, so guess Sears is still in business for awhile. Did try that detailer guy in Boca where Mike takes his vehicle on a Sunday a few years back. Think it was when I had the Tucson and they did an o k job, nothing spectacular. The guy who comes to my house does and outstanding job as he usually does 3 or 4 of the fleet if the girls are around. The Audi is definitely due as is the Versa so will need to schedule him in a few weeks. Of course will have mine done as even though it is garage kept, the birds around my office love the blue color and always stop by to say "hello"!

JM, I do it by hand. I have no desire to use a buffer. Afraid I might somehow screw up the paint. Once I have all the wax on, taking it off is pretty quick. assuming I don't use old junky wax.
I actually have 2 of those buffers, one a Craftsman I bought over 20 years ago, and one I got as a gift maybe a dozen years back. I have never taken the second one out of the box and seldom use the Craftsman one. I find it not much help TBH. I find waxing by hand with a supply of clean towels to buff it off works just about as well. I never found the buffer much of a labor savings either with all of the changing of pads that's needed.
I gave up washing/waxing after my accident back in 2005, just too difficult to do it. Tried washing just mine couple years back when the weather was just perfect but 3/4 of the way through, had major pain and had to get some help to finish. After that, wife said to just have my guy do it or go to the local place up the street for a wash. Figured it wasn't worth the anguish my back goes through. Had to agree with her on this. Usually get their "buy 4, get 2" special when it comes along. They have a "19.99/month, Unlimited Outside Wash" special right now but they attach it to your credit card for the special price. Have thought about it but hate to attach my cc to anything and have to go at least five times/month to make it worthwhile. Average every 10 days now so might just be worth it. When I do retire again, will definitely do it as I'll have more free time to go even twice a week.

I believe Walmart did the number on them as well as Lowes/Home Depot.
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
I wonder if this bout of pain is your body reacting to the quality bourbon you were 'sippin' earlier this week.
2014 Malibu 2LT, 2015 Cruze 2LT,
I might clay once a year, or when I buy a car, but that's it. For my latest car, I instructed the dealer not to detail it at all (leftover car, it had sat outside for maybe 9-10 months) - I clayed it myself and did it all to make sure it was done right. I didn't mind.
Stick.

Just be sure they don't send-out for that Denny's Bourbon Chicken stuff that @driver100 is trying to push.
You have the right idea, do it straight.
Good luck.

I never knew the lead singer was Tom Hanks father. I did know, from watching another PBS oldies show, that he was a backup singer for the Four Preps (26 Miles (Santa Catalina) fame).
This was smack dap in the middle of my youth. Thanks for the link.

Apparently that is Forza 6. What possessed them to put that vehicle in a vide game is beyond my comprehension.
